or you could instead look at the interesting side of the mechanics, and find self-sufficient plant combos that dont require constand fertilizing and guarantee extra drops at the price of 2% of a one-man band and watering it a bit a day

Edit: also, I've tested a bit, and if you dont have unused tilled dirt patches and pick up the crops flies hardly ever come

with a friend we discovered that tentacles usually dont spawn inside farm plots  if you spawn them from outside them. We're not sure cause then he spammed the hell out of the book and we had to abandon the world
