I love how the loot table for the bush hounds changes based on the turf they're on!

The ones on stone turf can give lightbulbs, pickaxes, and even miner's hats. The ones on grass turf can give traps, hoes, watering cans, etc.

The ones on the lush carpet are can give grass suits, spears, and more.

It's a really cool detail!

A suggestion on tallbird egg recipe

Isn't 150 hunger AND 60 health a bit too much together? Especially considering that tallbirds are now relocatable and farmable?

image.png.1b91cb4682196804e14517827e6b0ef5.png

It would be more reasonable if it was either

- 75 hunger, 60 health

- 150 hunger, 20 health

STILL amazing recipe even with this tuning

Considering that the previous best use of tall eggs was 75 hunger and 20 health with baconeggs trick (2 monstermeat + 1 twig + 1 tall egg)

Love the update, cheers

i think its pretty good, it incentivizes the making of a tallbird farm which have never been used since there are better ways of getting eggs and meat

if the recipe becomes mediocre nobody will really care about making a farm

Complaining about the new easy mode is silly imo especially since the game has always had an easy mode

the new easy mode just saves you a few clicks, i guess the real reason people are complaining is because there is no harder mode which klei will most likely add eventually since a lot of people seem to want it

I probably wouldn't use it, but it would be cool to see the Plus mode fleshed out more

Tallbirds are SUPER super unwieldy to work with, I think it's fine to let the recipe be really good since you have to deal with them (and even worse, MANY of them) if you want to make the recipe often.

This, along with the fact the amount of Tallbirds you get in a world is super low without a tallbird fort setpiece. In my case, I more often then not have worlds with 1-3 total. Sure, you can certainly raise said Tallbirds and eventually amass a reasonable supply of them, but it both takes a significant amount of investment to raise a highly vulnerable smallbird to a tallbird, so I feel the “reward” for doing so makes up for the cost of raising them + fighting the Tallbirds to get the eggs.

Rather than nerf the new recipe I propose we buff tallbirds instead. Make them more aggressive when you steal their eggs. They could gain tremendous speed and have a new attack where the jump briefly and the slam their whole face down on you. Dodging it makes them get stuck in the ground for a second or two and also give them an occasional hurricane kick.

Ever since they changed the website my quote feature hasn't been working. That said, it wasn't directed at anyone, just the ungrateful people who hate on everything they don't think is a good addition and decide that just because they don't like an update nobody else should enjoy it either.

For the people that already had played the beta, Is it posible to trap the briar wolves or have them in their bush form indefinitely?, They just look so beautiful I would like to keep one or two as decorations!

Complaining about easy mode won't help to anyone. The game's hard and not very friendly to new players. I welcome that change since my friends could have a breather to play and learn about the game and mechanics instead of dying and quitting out of frustration.

I played a lot more than most people in the community in this game and still get frustrating when I fail hard.

Losing in this game for new players feels not worth it to invest time in dying and dying again and again and learning barely anything, I can be compassionate for that. Maybe some veterans should try teaching and learning from newbies time to time or friends that are new to the game. Can learn a lot from their psyche and what they like and don't about the game. I been doing that and studying, it's kinda fun to know all sorts of people like that.

Want hardmode? Wait another 5 years or so. Maybe that'll happen. Priorities to make the game fun and growing community's ideas heard is prolly higher. :3

  • Temperature Damage: Default / Nonlethal (will damage but not kill survivors)
  • Hunger Damage: Default / Nonlethal (will damage but not kill survivors)
  • Darkness Damage: Default / Nonlethal (will damage but not kill survivors)
  • Max Health Penalty: Enabled / Disabled

Can these have more options at least to also increase the difficulty? Like faster/stronger damage from all these sources and more punishing health penalties?
It's not much but it'd at the very least acknowledge that a lot of us want the options for more difficulty.

At what point do you think klei is just going to decided "Well, we worked hard on a cool update, and everyone is yelling at us because it wasn't exactly what the minority of players wanted." and stop making updates at all. Even then everyone complains about the lack of updates. Sorry Klei, you can't win. People hate you for not updating and people also hate the updates apparently.

If there's a feature I don't like in an update, there's usually a setting to disable it. And I know I'm in the minority of playing on xbox so most of you complaining can download a mod to make the game harder. If not, just try fighting the bosses without armor or with worse weapons and it essentially increases their damage and health!

I don’t think you, or for that matter most the people who are against a harder difficulty fully understand what players are asking for: We don’t want to run around with one HP, But what Klei COULD do is let us toggle the Passive or Aggressiveness of certain mobs-

For example: There are TWO types of Bee Hives, one that’s almost completely passive until you attack it or Spring comes around.. And One that is Aggressive and Angry Bees will spawn out of it when the player gets within proximity of it.

Beefalo also become Aggressive when in mating season or when they see other nearby Beefalo being attacked.

Catcoons will attack the player if your playing as Wortox-

My point here is that Klei already has these mobs with certain “Triggers” to be passive or aggressive- and it’s no secret that a large majority of DSTs mobs are completely Passive until you engage them..

there’s also an old concept art where Klei had plans to make MoonGlass turn neutral mobs hostile on the player, but nothing ever came of that.

A Harder Difficulty doesn’t just mean You do less damage and enemies deal more damage- it’s all the examples I provided above + new content that the player can enjoy-

For example: If Klei adds an extremely moltening hot volcanic biome out in the water where the player will need heat resistant clothing, Wigfrids useless fireproof scroll, Wickerbottoms useless fire book, Scalemail Armor, etc just to survive the intense heat and enemies with fire based attacks on the island- THAT = Harder Content without you know… adjusting some highly boring stat values no one wanting a higher difficulty is going to care about.

We want mob behavior/map changes..

Even breaking the entire map up into an archipelago forcing the player to sail from island to island for resources = Higher Difficulty.

PLEASE Stop hating on people wanting more difficulty because I assure you: Most of us do NOT want to run around at 1 hp dying at the first hit to anything- That’s not difficulty- That’s “Expertisim/Elitest Syndrome”

I absolutely love the special interaction Maxwell has when he uses the stage with no costume. Plus the little nod at you-know-who shows he's not really interested in telling the others about her

Spoiler

He starts reciting his opening of The Final Act and then spawns 2 clones and dances with them. Afterwards he starts to mention that the show was better with Charlie, but stops himself before mentioning her and just says something along the lines of  "...well ...it just used to be better"
