The only change I would like to see before release is for the Lunar Grimoire to not change the lunar cycle after forcing a full moon.- 56 replies

Kinda sad tbh, to me it made sense for the curse to stick with you after death (like Woodie's for example). That and I just like being Wonkey. -
Upcoming "CNY" Animals
GuyNamedChris replied to h2mk's topic in [Don't Starve Together] General Discussion
Year of the Dragonfly sounds downright amazing. Dress it up as the lucky beast, make it the center of the festivities, burn down the world, go all out! -
Like others have been saying, every other character apart from Wickerbottom, Maxwell, and Wilson have already got their major refreshes. A good way to tell is to see if they have a unique idle animation (Winona cracking her shoulder, Willow hugging Bernie, Walter's salute, etc). Unique idle animations basically means they are not planned to get any more refreshes. It is possible that Klei could go back and tweak the existing characters around a bit to make their gameplay more engaging like they did with Wurt recently (cause we all know Winona needs it) but I'm not expecting anything major until after the last three official refreshes are complete.

The eyepatch sash clips off right at the circled spot here. I'm unsure if it's an easy fix, but it'd be nice to see it stay connected under the headband.

I'd love silly little Wonkey skins! Given that you can access them through the curio cabinet, that could probably be a way to equip skins onto them, apart from the wardrobe in-game.

Modpacks for DST?
GuyNamedChris replied to bagherthegamer's topic in [Don't Starve Together] General Discussion
Well in that case allow me to shamelessly plug a mod I'm on the team for: Island Adventures! Tl;dr, it's our take on Shipwrecked in DST. It contains mostly all the features of the original dlc, but with some changes to allow DST's features to still shine: - Full compatibility with DST Characters + Refreshes - Additions to Treasure Hunting + Slot Machine loot with DST-only items (configurable) - RWYS-compatible Sweet Potatoes - SW fish have alive/dead states just like DST's fish, and can be put in Fishin' Bins + Fish Bowls (configurable, this also allows Rainbow Jellyfish to be free sources of light) - A functional Seaworthy (via dedicated server) to allow travel between Shipwrecked, Forest, Caves, and Volcano - ...and more, too many to remember/list in one post lol https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1467214795 Check it out if interested! If ya have any questions we have the workshop comments section and our discord. Don't allow me to overtake this thread, I wanna see everyone else's suggestions too -
[Suggestion] Wonkey running grace period
GuyNamedChris replied to splorange's topic in [Don't Starve Together] Beta Branch
Agreed. I can't imagine how... Wonkey... the running is for players who have to deal with heavy lag. -
It's pretty hilarious actually. My inventory is full, and I'm holding my trinket with the mouse. After killing another monkey via this method, the new trinket doesn't stack on top of the trinket I'm holding with my mouse, instead it keeps spamming itself on top of my character, resulting in it floating and following me around as such.

Dealing with Pirate Raids
GuyNamedChris replied to Hornete's topic in [Don't Starve Together] Beta Branch
Yeah please just leave it at stealing items. Destroying the entire chest just isn't fun. -
Festival palmcone tree
GuyNamedChris replied to Sikers's topic in [Don't Starve Together] Beta Branch
Same should apply to all trees tbh, not just evergreens, deciduous, and twiggy trees. -

I kinda hope Wonkey leans more into the Wilbur perks honestly since he's already sorta halfway there. I mean things such as periodically pooping, maybe having splumonkey neutrality, and speaking in a mix of "Ooh"s and "Aah"s instead of your previous character's speech. Really drive home the fact you are not that character anymore, you have returned to monke. -

Showing off your outfits [2]
GuyNamedChris replied to Alarsin's topic in [Don't Starve Together] General Discussion
So with both the release of Modded Skins and Beach Outfits, I've been loving putting together summery outfits for the cast. So here's 'Hawaii Tourist' Nerdson -
Cause Don't Starve singleplayer was designed with no world renewability in mind. If you ran out of rocks in the world you are OUT of rocks, Lumpy Evergreens are one-and-done, Ancient Guardian and the ruins don't regen etc. So you worked on the idea that after exhausting a world of all its resources, you gather up what you wanna bring with you in your inventory and hop to the next world. In Together, a lot of previously non-renewable things now regenerate, swiftly killing the idea that you need to regenerate a new world when you're out of resources. Cause you'll next to NEVER be out of resources, and you can neatly survive in your one world for as long as you really want.

Skin issue mega-thread
GuyNamedChris replied to JustAPineapple's topic in [Don't Starve Together] General Discussion
I can't wait for the second wave of skin color correction to come through! And hopefully after that some compatibility with the skin color changes via head skins. Many a WX outfit has been ruined when a hand or foot skin is default WX colored while I'm wearing a Roseate WX skin. -
Shipwrecked Together
GuyNamedChris replied to _MADL's topic in [Don't Starve Together] General Discussion
From what I'm seeing: MADL here ports the entirety of Shipwrecked in its pure singleplayer form, including removing any hint of DST content, including items, re-adding the old crafting tab, reverting character refreshes. It's quite simply, Don't Starve: Shipwrecked. Pretty cool. We at Island Adventures try to incorporate DST content into Shipwrecked as best we can, such as: - Making all character refreshes compatible with SW (alt. recipes for a lot of craftables, Pipspooks spawn at wrecks for Wendy players, added Shadow Hackers for Maxwells, Tropical Switcherdoodles for Webbers, Balloon Vest works as a Life Jacket, readded the Joy of Volcanology, Poison Balm, Warly's SW dishes, etc. etc.) - Made the Sweet Potato crops compatible with the Reap What You Sow update - Upped the health of a lot of hostile mobs as DST has - Added DST-specific loot to the treasure hunting pool (celestial orb, terrarium, lunar tools, moonrocks, etc) - Added the Seaworthy to allow travel between SW and DST worlds (only available via dedicated server atm since the world limit for hosted worlds is 2; Forest and Caves, or SW and Volcano) There's more but I don't wanna clog up this thread, but that's about the gist of what's different between this and Island Adventures. Cheers! -
Steamed Hams Sandwich DST
GuyNamedChris replied to Boatman13's topic in [Don't Starve Together] General Discussion
Oh yes please. I remember being so tilted when they were first added to Hamlet that not all the examinations were a reference to the meme (which has since been remedied, thanks clay) that I took it upon myself to write up some stupid examinations for em. -
Shipwrecked Together
GuyNamedChris replied to _MADL's topic in [Don't Starve Together] General Discussion
tl;dr, Yes but the old team is still here, hi. Pretty much, yeah. In the beginning of last year we couldn't keep up with IA breaking after every update, and after Zark got hired by Klei we essentially had one active programmer, which is quite stressful on him as you can imagine, so we threw in the towel officially in May 2021. However, we left the Gitlab open to anyone who wanted to scrounge through the code for their own mods (with credit) or fix some things in IA themselves. So around last January some kind folks came up and started development on IA again through that. Of course, the old team (hi!) is still around to help them where we can, like me, the writer/community person™ Idk if the rest of your post is also aimed at me but I don't think I've been particularly hostile towards OP here, I'm more just curious how he accomplished such a feat alone. The stream looks pretty impressive, can't wait for it to be public. -
Shipwrecked Together
GuyNamedChris replied to _MADL's topic in [Don't Starve Together] General Discussion
Huh, I haven't heard that first bug reported before, thanks for bringing it to my attention. But yeah the cactus thing with being able to pick them early-on is a bug that also persists in singleplayer. And yeah I suppose that's true. We do our best to incorporate DST's mechanics into SW, not isolate them from the rest of the game. Also reason this is getting so much negativity is due to a few of the screenshots here, full moons are following the singleplayer cycle, mushrooms are growing into full trees as they only do in singleplayer, the inspect-self screenshot is showing hand/body/head icons from two separate updates, no screenshots of the new crafting menu, just overall not a lot of stuff adding up. But who knows? Maybe this guy is so dedicated to making this a 1-for-1 singleplayer experience that he ported all these mechanics? -
Shipwrecked Together
GuyNamedChris replied to _MADL's topic in [Don't Starve Together] General Discussion
We do. It was added back in the beginning of April. In either case, I'd love to see whether this mod is real or not. -
Shipwrecked Together
GuyNamedChris replied to _MADL's topic in [Don't Starve Together] General Discussion
We picked it up again this year and released a MASSIVE update adding in nearly the rest of the missing content, adding compatibility with all the new character refreshes, and fixing a ton of the major bugs. I'd definitely recommend giving it another go when you can.
