Exploring the new stuff as Wigfrid was a BAD Choice, there’s not enough meat sources down here to sustain her.. and what’s worse.. the Lunar Grotto Mushtrees when burned rarely ever drop Charcoals to build a Crockpot with- I starved to death shortly after taking this screenshot xD.

Oh look Another spooky Halloween build, I built everything you see in this photo by myself except for the Marshturf, Some lovely Wurt Player came through & placed that.

a Crockpot

Yeah, generally the best way to deal with the lack of meat in the Caves is to build a crockpot to make meatballs with—big improvement from that yucky, not very filling and sanity impacting monster meat. Good thing that the lunar ruins has their own kind, it could be life-saving in a pinch.

After having to wait for things to get fixed up, I finally continue my Island Adventures world! Even with the goal of filling the mod tab in the cook book done, I still wanted to continue this world, especially to see the new update's content. I mainly ended up spending dry season filling out my map in the caves and checking out the lunar grotto and ancient archives.

Firstly, I like where it put the retrofit wormhole.

I was quick to find the bridge, and since I was in desperate need for rocks, I mined all the boulders.

Heres the map filled for the new area.

My archives have 2 moths, and with the dust in the kilns I made a couple amberosias to give the moths, but if I want more I'll have to activate the archives, I know that at least.

I must also say, dust moths are definately one of my top picks for cutest mobs in DS/DST now. My 3rd pick, behind ballphins at 2nd and glommer at 1st of course!

Also me having a chuckle at silly dialogue. Abigail is a mischievous sister even in death it seems.

Also made one of those mushy cakes, thankfully feast and famine didn't block me out of the new recipes.

Random miner hat setpiece, I can tell how this guy died at least.

And heres a random rock lobster out of bounds.

I mapped most of the caves, though not all of it, I had to resurface on the final day of dry season. But since mild season is a day away, I can hold off on caving for later. I have a task to do for the coming mild season.

(My bird and some other ingredient stuff was bundled prior to going into the caves, better safe then sorry!)

I'll try to get some more screenies when I play a little later.

Getting a moon callers staff in my Island Adventures playthrough, thought I'd show the moonstone setpiece in essential islands.

(Now I can imagine the werepigs here being wildbore werepigs, but the hounds... I guess they're slot machine hounds? I bet the slot machine is trying to mess me up here)

I hope this smallbird survives, at least...

I remember the time I hatched an egg in winter and later had to deal with the Deerclops.. Since she has a very lethal AoE attack, the only way I could fight her safely was to make a pen for the little guy, so it wouldn't follow me. I tried to stay in the vicinity during the fight, because I was worried the smallbird would teleport to me once I get too far. Ultimately it took a lot of my nerves and the Deerclops is just one of the terribly many dangers.

Would a hound trap field work after you traped the small bird ?

I'm not sure how effective of a method that is against Deerclops, but be careful, since traps can also damage and kill smallbirds.

Just a screenshot of me killing the level 3 rook. I did the shadow pieces in the order of Knight, Bishop, Rook.

This was actually tight to start, hurricane threw up a storm at the start of hurricane season which didnt end until shortly before day 2. I ended up using a coffee to quickly run over and start the shadow pieces fight before I missed it, then proceeded to run around and do some hasty prep(make log suits, set up my inventory, etc.) while keeping their aggro until the coffee wore off, then I did the fight as normal.
