What mistakes did you make when you started playing?

Picked flowers on sight. The problem is, other people do it and they make it look like they do it because their sanity is constantly going down.

And it is, just not nearly enough to constitute picking flowers that much. Garland sucks anyways.

I was literally about to say the same thing...

That must've been a shocking experience for you.

Definitely disgruntled!

Didn't know the combat system, had built walls of wood all around as a means of defense...

Then lightning hit and everything just instantly on fire.

I pick flowers sometimes, but only when I AM actually going insane--not the second I spawn!--and definitely not the ones near beeboxes.

Burned a few grass tufts in winter, 'cos their fire lasts so long.  I'd go to a savannah far away from me I wasn't going to visit that often, grab a stack of ten, then go home.  Oy.

And I've TRIED making a character go to sleep when there's danger about, but only once and then when I realised it wasn't going to happen, I was like,"FINE..." and put my armour on.  Ironically, more than once this has happened because I was trying to make them be less insane, and they refused to sleep because _an insanity-monster was already close by_.  Heh.

Hilarious picture, by the way, Minespatch.  :D  If I was going to draw my avatar (or one of them, anyway) being there in person, ordering the characters to do the things I make them do as a player, it would be...I dunno, but amusing.  Probably along the lines of:

eatthecactus.png

(that's supposed to be a football helmet, by the way. I don't draw well fast).  Because if you think about it, that really doesn't make any sense.  : P

(Silly as this may be, I wouldn't _actually_ pick cactus that close to the Dragonfly's lair...)

...Notorious

Ruining every dish in the crockpot and got wet goop without learning from my mistakes for a long time

Died after eating monster meat and didn't realise why I died.

Burned down the whole forest so the spider nests get destroyed because I was afraid of them.

Stole a tallbird egg, tallbird chased me endlessly, night came, I had no torch and instead of dying by darkness the tallbird got me when I stopped to make a torch :C

I started at "Naughty and Nice Update" (2012) and my experience with Minecraft was that there was still light during the night time... Died for Darkness at day 1.

Attacked a three tier spider nest without properly drawing them out.

I've made Monster Lasagna and I felt so... bad.

I DID ALL OF THESE except I ate all the lasagna thinking it would give ma a status buff :(

ate ALL mushrooms I came across in case something good would happen.

I'm still a little new to the game, but I don't think I'm terribly green anymore. I use to pick flowers right off of spawn. Camp was made within the Beefalo heard. Finding Glommer's statue was the priority during the first few days of a new world. And Deerclops was probably the scariest thing I've ever seen on my monitor lol.

Also, i had a fear of using nonrenewable things, or things that have a long respawn rate, like mushrooms. Life before cooked green caps wasn't terribly fun.

Back when I played DS Vanilla I'd keep both Science Machine and the Alchemy Engine because I thought they both are necessary to be able to craft everything.

I also never ever did anything "risky". Killing a pig was too terrifying for me. I'd only fight hounds and spiders.

I also thought that the most important thing is to survive, so once I made a base that was able to fully sustain me I stopped playing. xD
