This I find to be really well made. A bit of a downer with the slow frame-rate and the fact that the camera changing mod(s) don't provide a background for the game, but other than that, the video's great. Really, Klei, give us a cartoon after you're done with it in terms of games, I'm sure people would love it. May be it'll become a hit on Cartoon Network if you put episodes there, who knows? Either way a series or a movie would be cool... preferably a cartoon seriesĀ :p

Regardless, just wanted to share this with the forum, if it hasn't been already.

Even though I have thought of it alot it would be better for Kiel if they took this route to get an actual animation company to do it and not themselves but yeah a cartoon would be very nice though they might just be short story animations and not a full fledged cartoon realistic speaking

I don't see it realistically working and I like DS/DSTĀ as games with the occasional puzzle andĀ animated short from the team. I say leave the fans to their devicesĀ if they want something like this, though it would be pretty neat to see shorts about the characters up to their shenanigans in the style of an old–timey cartoon.

I would love to see silent movies chronicling survival shenaniganry.

I want the camera to be on Wes pantomiming for like 20 seconds and then cut to a textbox frame that has absolutely nothing on itĀ Ā

Ā Ā Ā Ā  I like the idea of a show and everything, but how exactly are they going to create a plot based off of Wilson starving during winter/dying to deerclops/forgetting that sanity actually does matter/willow burning your base down/people asking where is base/a whole lot of other things? It's apparently canon that Wilson dies a lot. Like, a lot of times. I think a show would have to have its own plot that differs from the already established bits and pieces of information, or maybe use said plot points as a basis that grows into its own plot.

Ā

Ā Ā Ā Ā  What if instead of the DST story line, everyone is actually trying to find the potato cup so it can lead them to nome's basement, where the Rose Collections frolic and play. Someone kickstart this.

I thought it would center around wilson just finding the portal then going through advenrure mode into a nice bridge of DST or it could be if you made all one world Wilson meeting the other survivors and their interactions as they try to survive to beat maxwell which you could still bridge with DST I can thing of some good scenes like finding Wes Webbers skull Woodies transformation and all the giant encounters

I actually had an idea for a Don't Starve movie back when singleplayer was still in beta. I always thought it'd be great for a stop-motion animated movie, like Nightmare Before Christmas or Coraline, but have Henry Selick direct it, since he was the guy who originally directed those two films. Plus, we all know Tim Burton would just make Johnny Depp play Wilson, throw Helena Bonham Carter in there somewhere, and emphasize more on dark visuals than any innovative storytelling *cough*Willy Wonka*cough*Alice*cough*

To make a long movie plot short, the film would be about Wilson discovering the true value of achieving greatness. He would be working to survive with Willow, Wendy, Wolfgang, etc, but as timeĀ goes on, Wilson realizes that he takes those who help him for granted, and that no true accomplishment of science, magic, etc, means anything when it comes at the expense of others' livelihoods. Maxwell would APPEAR to be the villain at first, but then Wilson finds out about "Them" and how this savage force of black magic is going to all sorts of barbaric means just to stay alive and well to anyone willing to work with it. In the end, all the characters would escape, but then stay close together in the real world to help them adjust to the normal lives, and make sure not a single soul knows about Them or their dark magic.

I posted a thread about this in more detail in a previous post, but I've changed a LOT sense then.Ā

BTW, "Hi!" to probably the one or two people that still remembers me after being offline for 3 years, lol

I think it would be fun to get to watch a series/movie about the characters. Or maybe just a series of shorts that show how each character got roped into the DS world. Then we'd get a bit more background on all of them! Klei could even keep the videos somewhat vague. I'm imagining something along the lines of the Forbidden Knowledge video . . .Ā

In this episode of Don't starve together, Wilson builds a wall...to keep the grass geckos in with the grass.

Episode run time: 3.4 hours.

The entire episode is frustrated trumpet squawking and slides with various mysteriousĀ symbol combinations to the effect of "@#$%!*" or "&!#%?," what could they mean?

Brilliant.

Okay, now I'm imagining clothing frolicking and playing in a pretty green meadow...with nobody in it.Ā  Just the clothing.Ā  : P

I'd say an actual animated series wouldn't really work.Ā  I'm up for the occasional new _short_ being added every now and then, and of COURSE they should be silent-movie style!Ā  :)

Episodes where, say, the Deerclops attacks or whatever would naturally have to be held back for sweeps week.

...Notorious

@Quoth143, @Storm137, &

@Aileen-Rose, wasn't sure you saw this animation yet.

Ā

Even though I'd love a movie with Jeffery Combs having a voice, or a tv series... I'm going to wait and see what happens. Any Don't Starve animation official or fan made I devour.

Already wrote a Pilot

Spoiler

Wilson: "short trumpet sound"

Willow: "excited flute sound"

Maxwell: "two creaky harmonica tune"

Wilson: "loud trumpet sound"

Maxwell: "rapidĀ muted harmonica tunes"

Willow: "slow flute sound"

Maxwell: "muted harmonica tunes"

Willow: "Loud flute sound"

Charlie: "Disharmonized piano chord"

Maxwell: "Excited harmonica tune"

Wilson/Willow: "Loudly scattered acapella"

Charlie: "slow piano chord"

Maxwell: "ear-bleedingĀ harmonica tune"

Ā

I would love a TV show (please not Cartoon Network or Nickeloden and sh*t) or a movie, but I feel the characters would be changed all too much. They may not even be the same, and for that reason I don't think it would be best to have a show. For example, Webber being turned into an older-like character when he's actually very young.Ā These games are special and I feel they should remain just "games", no shows.Ā

And if turned into a show or movieĀ I'd like Klei to truly develop it so the characters stay the same.Ā

I would actually prefer if it was just some random shorts that they post on their channel over a television show.

Oh man that just gave me an Idea

What if it were just like TF2 Meet the pyro, scout, etc but instead it tells the stories of other characters and showcase their specialty

Like webber's origin: boy got ate by spider
