Out of like 20 Loyal Guard Houses, i can hire 3, because other 17 are hoboing somewhere in the wilds. And when i find one of them on occasion, i must escort his slow ass majesty to his palace. I can kill him, but its so annoying to kite merms. Why should i even bother keeping a constant watch on them while those bastards spawn 2 times a day. Merms should be interchangeable force that you hire and forget, let him get lost in the woods and die unloaded, because a new will be spawned each 4 minutes. But in our situation you must keep an eye on each of your shreks, because god forbid if one of them gets unloaded in some random place you rarely visit. Might aswell rebuild your entire village every half a year. Or just use them as frog legs and fish generator, without taking them away into the world. Then what the point of Wurt?

You can craft them in the destination

With practise is the only good choice

If i finish a fight with some of them alive (i dont use many of them (i enjoy fighting the bosses alone) and not so far from their home (lucky world gen)) i just kill them because, even near of their home, they get stuck in an infinity walk loop,  in the moment they get unloaded (i have merms at 2 screens of their home uneable to come back unless i follow them)

Seeing a handful of people worried about picking up spiders with hats.

Unless I'm missing something obvious (very possible) I'd expect the hat and spider to be seperated when picked up. Otherwise you'd get weird stacking problems.

i don't know who to ask about this, but I love giving bush hats to followers, since they never break or rot, and I would love if the bush hat had alternate skins. In game, the regular berry bush has a spikier wild berry bush variant that sometimes shows up in set pieces, so maybe using that one as a reference, you could add a skin and make that version of the bush hat look like "spiky hair" to match with how the regular bush hat skin looks wider than a berry bush, more like an afro. I'd also love if a juicy berry bush alt was available, maybe making the 2 hanging berry clusters on the side resemble "pigtails." Ever since I first brainstormed it with friends on Twitch, I've really wanted to give followers cute hairdos like that. :)

Weird stacking problems? I don't think spiders would stack in the first place, as they are bigger than birds, rabbits and moleworms, none of which stack either.

Im so excited!! This seems like it might be one of the best reworks so far, i might be a tad biased, but all changes seem to mostly focus on making what wasn't so good, much better, while at the same time making spiders by themselves a bit more interesting in general. I'm curious as to what the new webber skin will be.

OMG, Webby boi update soon, I just choked on my ice cream seeing this, all the additions and changes sound really nice, I like the part with making spiders neutral to other players, that will solve quite some community base problems

Was a Webber main for the longest time until Wortox came out and i fell in love with him. BUT NOW...
WEBBER IS BAAAAAAAAAAACK i will never play someone else again XD (ok a little bit wortox)

I feel like there’s a lot of bug potential with these new features. I can already see the “crash when shaving a den that another webber is sleeping inside” and the “spiders turn invisible while wearing wigfrid battle helmets” and the “crash when using healing glob on player with spiders in their inventory” and you get the point.

At that point why even use merms? If you not able to rely on them for long journeys their biggest upside then just becomes that they can mine rocks which isn't as tedious as chopping trees anyway.

I'm not denying this is a huge problem I'm saying their both a problem even more so in a multiplayer setting.

Is a solution and in the long term (and taking in count how cheap are the houses) is something to achieve lel. You can use them in long journeys, just be careful (and doesnt mean i dont want a fix for her problem)

They mine in general, no only rocks. Mining ice and marble takes time and they help A LOT.

Also is so helpful when you are cleaning a pretified forest. Just grab a ruins pick/axe and clean everything with 1 item and few honey/stone fruit

Because spiders are pointless. They die too fast and if you kill something, they will just eat the loot.

Im not sure about this rework. Webber will definitely be less annoying to play as or with. But why would you use spiders for something different than spider wars?
