I also noticed that Lucy no longer falls out of your inventory when you transform, which I bet was meant to go with this update.

She falls out if you have her in your equip slots.

probably not, he already has a whopping 90% armor, no durability to worry about, a powerful aoe attack and teammates who can further buff or even heal him. It really, really is up to the Woodie to know when is the right time to unleash moose and moose is strong enough that the inability to heal (alone) is a necessary downside.

I do believe that as well. Just the duration increase would've sufficed, everything else is a bonus buff

It was 4 weremooses and a wortox. The only cost was 4 idols and about 3 helms and 3 log suits and basically face tanking it with charging here and there. Was much easier than expected.

I was playing all this night as Woodie after the changes and have a point to share

First of all - my english is a work in progress so if i make some mistakes, forgive me guys im trying my best

Now, about Woodie - Eating an idol recovers all hunger points as you always transform with the full bar, and this before the re-rework its ok, but now its a freaking way to put your hungry high - just use the idol again when you change back to human form and you are safe. Goose can just explore all stuff if you have idols enough and the only drop will be sanity. When you are tired to stay in a form, then yes you will need to deal.

The price? Some cheaper monster meats.
So looking for a basic problem in this game [starving] the new woodie just ignore this at all once this can stay in a wereform.
My suggest is: just combined the hunger points with the wereform bar.  So you have to eat if you want the full bar before shapeshift again.

I hate to be that guy when this whole rework caused hell on earth.

But. I think making Goose able to swim just completely neglects boats. Wanna find lunar island? Just let the funny gooseman do it for you. Who needs to go sailing?

idk, i'm iffy about it. But all the other changes are great.

Omg Klei thank you very much!! You did most everything we asked to make this update great! After the Autumn music bug is fixed too (yes it was confirmed to be a bug) everything is going to be awesome.

One additional tweak I can suggest to perfect the update is to make the transformations more intrusive into Woodie gameplay- not just on full moons- certain actions can force transformations. In order to emphsize the curse element and make Human woodie gameplay more different than a "Wilson with better axe" and make transformations less optional (as curses should be) , they shall be forced by specific situations as a number of others already suggesed in forums, invading into the Woodie gameplay. 

 

For example in WereGoose's case, in order to emphasize the fast, fleeing concept behing Goose, it may be forced when Woodie's health is lowered below 20% by an attack (not everytime but once in a while like two whole days or after healing above 50% after returning to human form, similar to how mighty wolfgang transformed in Forge) so to limit woodie from effectively fighting with low HP and staying in long fights without healing This would also benefiting his survivability as displayed in the woodie rework animation (this particular transformation should have invincibility frames while transforming).

 

Similarly, extreme deforestation may cause a WereBeaver  transformation, with some Lucy quotes returning to warn Woodie when he's cutting too many trees, like singleplayer Don't Starve. Similarly, killing way too many enemies in a small timeframe may force Woodie into WereMoose, forcing Woodie to be mindful whom to fight with or else he can get transformed in an unvonfortable situation.

That’s adorable.

Anyways I’m unbelievably glad that this update came out so quick. To me it proves that Klei can and will listen to the community (even if it took a small nuclear war) even when others think they’ve messed up. God, they’re so great.

Friggin adorable lol. I think the main reason they decided not to let Weremoose and Werebeaver swim/walk on water in the end was because it fundamentally didn't work with the mechanics they designed in the end as Goose is the only form sustained by walking, the other forms would just keel and drown Woodie without things to gnaw or fight.

Also balance reasons, stuff like the new boss (and probably future content on the seas) would be much easier for tanky Moose just charging around on the sea and unbound by the boat. The lack of swimming in other forms requires Woodie to be restricted to be on a boat to fight like any other character since Goose cannot do anything but sonic around it (which is prob also why Goose was intentionally not given any offensive attacks and just granted possibly op jesus walking)

Great changes! I can't wait to try Woodie (again) in a world. 

I would praise this update further, but I see others already did that for me :)  I'm really happy to see that the devs do listen to us.

(Btw, new rep farm method: spam "Thanks Klei!" on the update thread :D )
