So, you might have heard about the new Rose Collection... if not, you can start here:

So Tencent, the Chinese version of Steam, So, PS4 has a different set of skins when Charlie took over...

For Steam DST players, we got the Formal/Guest of Honor Collection, and since Charlie's reach has lagged a bit and has only recently reached the PS4, they will be getting the Rose Collection...

20161015103323_1.jpgBut don't you worry, @JoeW said that if we liked how the Rose collection looks like, we can get them (for Steam DST players) as well as other upcoming/being made new skins!

So... I'd just like to know the consensus of the forums regarding this.

\(O__O)/ vote now and get a new Rose/GoH Skin!! (not really... well, one way or another... maybe)

Side note: The Guest of Honor Collection was probably designed by Maxwell, and Charlie had to outdo him and made designed  the Rose Collection... poor Mr. Skits was probably the one who  sewed both collections too...

Next time you see Mr. Skits, give him a /kiss!

Master has given Mr. Skits some chiffon, Mr. Skits is a free Shadow!! \(O__O )

OMG this poll  :/

how about:

1. yes we want this "kind of ok but really meh nothing new" collection for steam too

2. we want our own exclusive collection (GOH being exclusive is cheating)

3. i am ok with some people having something i dont have (what a twist right?)

4. i dont care just push more cool and crazy skins

5. i can live with not having rose collection as long as i get walking cane skin

Then again, it has a to do with the LORE...

I know it was in a jokey way that he said it... but it's not wrong... it has something to do with the lore... so I do believe things like that should be in both Steam and PS4... yes, sure, some skin exclusives would be fine for both parties, I mean something like the Trophy was added to PS4 and we were fine with it (basically because it was a joke item)... but if it's tied to any lore in the game at all, shouldn't it be accessible in all platforms? Sure I say lore when it's actually a cosmetic named after Charlie's most iconic symbol in the game... but yeah, it's tied with her... so I'm not really sure why it should be separate...

@Asparagus truth to be told i rather have cool new skins like invisible Wilson, depth deweller Webber or samurai Wigfrid, more item skins that are nowhere to be found (like we get that fur roll skins but why not the most used items like cane or armors or football helmet) than spent 3920473209$ for this kind of weak collection that is not THAT special IMO. DST being this crazy fantasy game where we have lot of weird stuff Klei is playing these skins really down to earth. Like few roses in webbers head? Tiny spikes in WIllows head? Not that interested

Then of course if they release this to steam i will get it all but i want crazy and cool skins more!

I'll have to agree here, the portraits look really good & i'm loving the Webber but they translate poorly onto the game models. Though... I've only seen Webber and Willow so far, so maybe it's not so bad? Still, if they were to introduce a new collection, I'd be happy to see something much different, like the forementioned samurai Wiggy for example

I have to admit, they are a bit... not as good as their portraits...

Wait, from what I can remember, isn't there Rose Tier in the code?

I don't really know but from what I can infer, I think they're in the Rose Collection which apparently is the same as being in the Lunar, Formal, and Shadow Collections...

Now Rose Tiers, if memory serves, they're about higher than Loyal skins...

If we liked? Of course we like them. These region based skins are a bad idea in my opinion, as any region based or locked digital products in general that are made that way on purpose, when they could be available globally.

I dunno, I just feel like I am going against the waves here.

Wait, was there ever a Rose Tier? I only ever remember the collection leak in the files.

I think you're getting things a little mixed up. The rose collection was listed in itemcolours.lua (that is, wathgrithr_rose through wx78_rose and body_wathgrithr_rose through body_wx78_rose) similar to how the autumn and spring collections are now listed.  Neither of them are referred to as a collection, but it's a fair assumption. Other items (body_dress_flouncy_tan_cream, body_dress_yachtsuit_white_pure, body_jacket_shearling_orange_salmon, body_jacket_toggle_navy_phthalo, and body_tanktop_tiecollar_yellow_goldenrod) appeared and disappeared with the rose collection - not necessarily related, but interesting to see more skins in the works.

The other rarities mentioned, indeed in skinsutils.lua, are Timeless (commented with "not used"), Reward ("a set bonus reward") and Event ("an event item"). Event and Timeless rarities have the same colour, and the rarity order isn't clear (rarity_order says Common-Classy-Spiffy-Distinguished-Elegant-Timeless-Event-Reward-Loyal, GetNextRarity() says Common-Classy-Spiffy-Distinguished-Elegant-Timeless-Reward-Loyal-Event). My guess is that either Reward or Event will be used with the Halloween update/event.

Also, if I understand correctly, the rose collection is currently exclusive to Tencent/QQ, not PS4.

Well, you kind folks go talk about skins, I will just go and spawn flowers until I find enough roses to craft that swanky cloak MYSELF! Aaand I will only need a dagger then! For what's a cloak without a dagger? Or, better yet, a reeeaaal blackjack, I'm asking you?

I don't know about all this mysteries in the code stuff so, I'll just go back to the original issue...

NO!  Absolutely no, to platform-exclusive skins! Uh-uh.  No.  Nonono.  Don't even START down that road--it leads nowhere good.  I don't mind if it takes a while, but please. There's absolutely no reason the PS4 users shouldn't get the formal skins any more than us Steam users can't have roses in our hair/legs/gears. 

I mean, what, people are going to pay money for entirely other platforms to play it on, that they in some cases can't even use, to get an outfit?  A FEW might be that obsessed, but in general, this is only going to cause division among the fans, not profit.  (Not that I think that's actually their goal; SOME companies I'd be that cynical about, but not Klei.)  Loyalty tier items are another matter. They're for whether you were there at a certain _time_ or not, and that can't be helped. But the Rose/Formal stuff is not time dependent.

(Speaking of bringing things over...I still have very much hope that EVENTUALLY, singleplayer Don't Starve will get some of the new improvements Together has.  No, not asking for the New Reign beta stuff...that's kind of Charlie-specific and wouldn't make sense.  But what about the PRE-New-Reign DST-exclusive stuff?  I see no problem with singleplayer having twiggy trees, juicy berry bushes, beefalo riding, stone trees, grass gekkos and gathering things while your cursor-hand is full!  Some of us do still play regular Don't Starve as well, and I'd hate to see that just abandoned.)

Of course, I myself have never gotten anything NEAR an elegant or distinguished skin and probably never will, so...what do I know?  : P  But for those who _do_ trade like crazy/pay money for skins...let them have access to the same things regardless of country, please?

I say no to platform exclusives. Who gets what and when isn't up to us either way so I'm not voting on that. I'm sure they will try to be fair towards everyone and give everyone what they want eventually, like they always do. 

It just feels a bit like everyone is hot and bothered with this Rose collection right now, meanwhile PS4 users get way less then what everyone else is getting right now.. A bit overreacting on the Steam users part here if you ask me.

You do realize that we're trying to remove the formal collecting from being an exclusive to steam right?
