It's quite easy to get ganked by grass gators in the biome thanks to the herd mentality, and fighting in a smol boat means you pretty much must tank against 2/3 gators. Making them aggressive is bad gameplay wise. (This is a problem with monke raids as well, too many monkes that attack continuously and no way to kite them)

world gen setting isn't the answer to everything.

And why would everything want to kill you? I like that a bunch of them just mind their own business. Don't mess with them and they won't mess with you.

You can just set Abigail to attack anything in sight if you want the "everything hates you" experience, I guess.

That’s not what I asked..

I want to know if we can get a toggle to trigger neutral/passive mobs into being aggressive.

Similar to this scrapped developer concept art page:

For Beefalo and Bees they already have a “Hostile” time of year/ toggle..

But can the grass gator get a peaceful/hostile (and other passive mobs until you attack them) have a toggle as well?

Why do Grass Gators run AWAY from the player? They are Alligators and should probably be hostile..

They're not alligators, they're grass gators. Also alligators don't typically chase people for no reason.

I think my largest problem with DST is the majority of content and mobs are neutral to the player until the player attacks it (Skittersquid, Seaweeds, Gnarwail, Grass Gator, etc..)

That is one of the best things about the game. Instead of just putting a bunch of enemies down and saying they attack you because they do they have created a believable world where the animals act like animals.

In a game where a good bit of the crafting involves armor and weapons… I want more things to smack in the face or be smacked in the face by.

There is nothing stopping you from smacking grass gators and provoking them into smacking you.

With the new update, how is cactus renewable exactly? Let's say if I burn up all the cacti in the desert biome, will they come back in the same place or in a completely random place within the biome? Have anyone tested it?

How does one get rid of Piggybacks? They can't burn, eyeplants won't eat it, am I missing something? No consoles commands by the way.

I don’t know.. but since you can give the pig king pig skins of his own followers you murdered and he rewards you with gold- I would “Assume” giving him a backpack made out of his followers would also reward you with even more gold.

The Pig Kings always been weird..

If you make a Grass Raft and put Piggyback on it, would Piggyback sink along with the raft?

If all else fails, you can use a Deconstruction Staff.

It floats.

With the docks inclusion into the game players can now build beautiful looking bridges.. however- these do not come without some minor consequences…

It blocks the pathway of water so boat/fish traffic can not get through.. sure you can just destroy the dock or build another boat on the other side.. but.. wouldn’t it just be better if boats/school of fish could travel underneath the dock tiles?

I was just wondering, how often is frog rain supposed to occur on average on normal settings? I'm halfway through spring now and it looks like the 3rd spring in a row without a single occurence of frog rain... I know I can just set it to more, but I was wondering if this is considered normal.

I don't know the exact answer, but from my experience, they don't occur often. I'd say that 50% of the springs I have experienced didn't have any frog rain. So I think it's normal.

Sometimes this happens to me, but sometimes there is 3 frog rains in a row

I can't recruit loyal merm guards as a non Wurt character. I am wearing the Clever Disguise. Is this a bug? or intended?

The wiki says that they behave like normal Merms, "including all the befriended behavior". This is on xbox if it matters.

Is there a way to remove the fertilizer grid? I'm starting to get annoyed when I hold any type of manure or rot in my hand and my ground lights up, or is this a geometric placement feature I overlooked ?

It's geometric placement. I don't know if there's settings for that, you can try looking in the configure mod screen

If it's raining, there's a 16% chance for Frog Rain to occur.

But for that to occur, there's a few more conditions:

  • It must be Spring
  • It must be raining
  • The precipitation rate must be greater than .55 (i.e. during heavy rain)
  • Something called moisture cell needs to be greater than 2500 (I'm not entirely sure what this is)

If you're so inclined you can also just throw it in the cave void, but i'd why you'd waste that much pigskin/silk. hawhaw
