how kind is klei

Recommended Posts

i've noticed that some times we can unclock skins from daily gifts and just from gifts and i mean some people get head skins just from daily gift and that's awsome but

has anyone unlocked wortox or wormwood from a gift, and if you have you have amazing luck and klei is one hell of a company,

(just asking)

In my opinion, the fact that the skins on the blocked characters drop from gift, already pleases me. The characters don't drop from gifts. And thanks Klei for the fact that they have reviewed the system of skins and gifts, and even free given the character Wormwood(well, Warly, too, like free will give)

I hope I didn't make any serious mistakes =/

No, you can't get characters from presents. If you could, devs would definitelly tell us about that.

You can however get skins for those characters from presents. But only if you own them I think

Was in a public game where someone got roseate wormwood and said right after, "well now it looks like I gotta unlock him" so I'm assuming that you don't even need the character to get the skins for it.

Nope, I got Wortox the Uncorrupted but I haven't unlocked him yet.  I also have the minotaur hands and hooves.

My brother got wormwood rose pants and he doesn’t have wormwood.

For what you get with their games versus cost investment, the entertainment value ratio is pretty high.  (Compare to a movie theater!)

For merely following Klei's progression through betas they've given out copies of Hot Lava and Hamlet for trying them out to those in it for free (everyone who signed up for it).

Some of their staff are very active here on the forums and aren't afraid to talk to the community.

Kindness is usually defined by doing acts that benefit others while not providing any benefit to yourself.

They didn't need to keep prices for their titles that reasonable/affordable, the free beta copies weren't needed to be done, and their communication certainly is an oddity in today's standards of what "gaming" companies do.

From these, I would say that they're much more kind than other game companies out there at the moment.

However, these are also all good business strategies.  They build a foundation for keeping a following of people who will spread good will via word of mouth, and that's worth a lot when it comes to games- reputation plays a big role in purchase decisions.

The companies that don't do these are being short sighted and are getting bigger capital now, at the price of consumer trust.  See: Bethesda, Activision-Blizzard, etc.

People who owned Don't Starve got Don't Starve Together for free when it was in early access. People who signed up for the Hamlet beta ended up getting Hamlet for free later. Owners of Hamlet ended up receiving Wormwood for free in Don't Starve Together. Klei have been extremely generous to this point.
