UPDATED - Studio Note & Rhymes with Play Streams Temporarily Canceled.   03/06/2020

UPDATE (3/19/20): Just a quick note regarding the team at Klei Entertainment. As noted previously, everybody at Klei Entertainment is working from home due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Many of us have been working especially hard to help maintain operations as we all move out of the office and into our homes and with everything being done online, extra time must be spent in organizing conversations and trying to maintain communication. As some of you may know, we have a very open office and we are almost always in contact with each other as we go about our days. Some of us work across multiple teams and that work has become a bit more challenging for everybody.   That being said, at this time the transition has not caused any major disruption in our operations, but it would be overly optimistic to expect that we won't have any delays at all. We're going to have to be especially mindful about this in the coming weeks and make sure we don't take on too much work so we can keep things running smoothly.  We will let you know as we see how these changes affect our timelines.  Thanks UPDATE (3/10/20):
The test yesterday went well. We got the whole office (mostly) to work from home without significant issue. As a result, Klei Staff that can work from home have been asked to do so until further notice.  This means that we will have to cancel the Rhymes with Play stream until we are all back in the office. This shouldn't affect anything else at least in the short term, but if things change I will update you all here.  Original Post: Hey everybody,  This Tuesday March 10th, 2020 the entire staff at Klei will be working remotely for 1 day in an effort to prepare the studio to work remotely for a little while if the need arises.  Klei is already set up pretty well to allow for working remotely, however we are going to have a one day "dry run" with the whole studio so that we can identify and avoid any issues or downtime that may arise should choose to implement a work from home policy due to COVID-19 outbreak concerns. Unfortunately this does mean that we will be canceling the “Rhymes with Play” Art stream this coming Tuesday, however unless the situation changes we expect everything at the studio to be back to normal Wednesday and we’ll continue our regular stream schedule Thursday March 12th. If the situation changes at all, we'll let you know. Thanks for your understanding.

  1. Fire is underrated when fighting hounds, indeed. Once they close to fire they start staggering and it scatters their numbers. That, plus a few tooth trap areas across the map at strategical positions, is usually does the trick. Tree guards and other mobs are also very usable but not always readily available when needed.
  2. [Game Update] - 401443

Thanks, Scott and the rest of the crew!
  3. Wow. Reading your investigation made me feel.... lucid. This is greatly interesting. Thank you for looking into and sharing these details. And thanks for the reminder to stay alert next time updates are posted. Eyes peeled.

@Theetis That is indeed a valid point. Although that mechanic doesn't contribute to what makes DST float (farming Butterfly Wings in an automated and trivial way), according to me, but you are right about that it is an advantage Wendy could have, since she is not so explicitly strong in the damage department. Being able to kill small mobs with ease fits as a perk for the character, agreed, but if I were to decide it would be toned down a bit. You are right that completely removing that ability also isn't fun and would be nonsensical. And, yes, Wickerbottom relies way too much on gimmicky mechanics instead of providing something truly interesting and fun, if you ask me.
  5. It makes more sense to choose a skin upon crafting an item. If you want a pure sandbox experience where you are able to customize everything without actually having to pay attention to the survival aspect of the game you can use a mod or console commands, no..? Crafting one more Bernie is not a huge ordeal, even on a public server, and this comes from an unremarkable Willow player. Implementing this suggestion would certainly require developer resources and time without adding any tangible benefit to the game.

Feedback: make Abigail target and punish Wendy automatically by delivering a coup de grace if her living sister has problems with her logistics to the degree that she is running around with a cluttered inventory without any food. Seriously though, turning the game into a complete cake-walk undermines the fun. And image the horror of having multiple Wendy(ies) on the same server killing butterflies in a flower filled area and producing an absurd amount of Butterfly Wings and lag. I fear that would not be fun..... yes, perhaps create a way to get her riled up on occasion, acquiring small mobs, by using a potion or something, but don't make it overwhelmingly easy to amass Butterfly Wings and Butter (then there wouldn't be any reason to get any other food during spring / summer / autumn after planting a garden of flowers, which can be done veryyyy easily).
  7. Wendy Rework ETA on the 19th?

Oh, actually, you are right. There is no need to hold back at using the Trade INN. The potential problem in the last grand events was that you could get items from chests and unravel any duplicates to spools, and use them to weave said items, so it would be best to hold on until the end in order to get duplicates of the items you had already woven - this got messy when the event got extended unexpectedly. But you have a valid point that Lunar seasonal event items are neither being able to be woven, nor appear in chests, so I should use the Trade INN right away (my luck so far has included a Tied Trapper Hat that I was missing, from a daily drop, weeeeee). And yes, I am excited for the Wendy update and especially the Pipspooks look cute. Klei seems to have address the problems that was my biggest gripe with Abigail (being way too chaotic to control and getting into messy situations). Can't wait for the changes to go live!
  8. Wendy Rework ETA on the 19th?

It would also be dandy to know when the Year of the Carrat will come to an end because I was planning on using the Trade INN just before that.
  9. Perhaps he formed the letters "NSFW" [sic] using in-game objects, and everybody gets tricked into thinking about something dirty by perceiving it as censored box.
  10. Wolfgang isn't op

    ↑↑↑ Wolfgang is [d]op[e]
  11. Bearger is male

Yes, it is obvious that this humble man merely wishes and hopes to gain a fraction of the insight and wisdom left in the wake of revelry these forums have had with topics such as "how old is Wendy?", "how old is Wendy, actually?" , "how old is Wendy, actually, officially?", "is Snurtle a snail?", "what gender is Deerclops?". Whilst an admirable aspiration, I fear that this kind of wisdom and deep understanding is beyond the comprehension of the average user. Although.... now that the general public has concluded that Bearger is a male, without any disputes, the aforementioned picture screams the question: is Bearger THE male [of DST]?
  12. Wardrobe idea

A piece of cloth to serve as protection against dangers and harm? A robe to ward its wearer? A ward robe! A most magnificent idea!
  13. Way to pause to investigate

Create a "cheat sheet" with a few assorted recipes, print it and put it up on display next to your screen. Works surprisingly well, not only for DST.
  14. That's why you build a pen of stone walls with one-two bunny hutches inside next to the unplugged and voila, you'll never get bothered by the bats again. Seriously, it really works that well and it's easy to make.
  15. The fighting mechanics are very simple, and I have nothing against that. The only gripe that I have is that there's no visual indicator when landing a successful hit and damaging a monster (well, there is usually an animation for getting hit, but it only shows occasionally for most monsters). EDIT: Although I loved the combat from The Forge, but that was quite another type of game.
  16. What operating system is your computer running? Please provide the model of your monitor and a screenshot of the display settings screen in Don't Starve Together.

Wow!!!! The promotional artwork is amazing!!!! Herman Melville, eat your heart out! Thanks, Klei!!
  18. [Game Update] - 375804

How....???? I mean, that's impressive. More than impressive, haha. I'm struggling with the minigame but I managed to obtain the Loyal skin. Now I managed to score 11000 points with 140 moves, so that's one order of magnitude away, haha.
  19. [Game Update] - 375804

A Crabbit pet would have been stellar with the Wurt update. <3 :*
  20. 1) Make sure that your Twitch account is linked to your Klei account. Check it here: https://accounts.klei.com/account/info 2) Make sure that the stream you are watching says "Drops enabled! Watch for a chance to earn loot."

Don't Starve and Invisible, Inc. have amazing music. Keep up the composing. <3 <3 <3
  22. [Game Update] - 368667

It's not just you. The different sounds in DST have not always be handled well, especially when many things were going on simultaneously. Having the engine silencing some sounds / tracks and making others more audible on occasion would have been stellar.
  23. [Game Update] - 367948

The changes make a lot more sense now. Wonderful! Thanks, Klei!
