I got super lucky with finding everything that i needed to do it too. No rollback, if i were to fail or die i would just regen the world and start from scratch. Trying speedrunning the caves makes you realise biomes generally spawn the same way, so blindly going trough a new cave becomes way easyer. I edited my map generation files so much that I casually forgot how much the original caves used to make a looooong spaghetti of mud before you get to the Ruins part... I liked how they looked, they don't really help much in terms of foodstuffs tho, but heck they're pretty imo. one in the greenhouse, one just outside. After summer ended I switched to warly to spice up some powdercakes with chili flakes then back to wendy again, I decided to put that combo of Dark Sword + Nightshade Nostrum + Spicy Food to use and go fight the dragonfly again, this time getting TWO scales for my kill, one from knocking her down! I later set up a scaled chest near the dragonfly arena and placed my pan flutes and spicy powdercakes inside it, will likely also store nightshade nostrums in it too. This world also isn't solo for anyone wondering, I will do most the boss fighting solo(and are sticking to solo rules at least for the first kill) but I have a friend join sometimes for 3/4 of the seasons(they leave during summer) For solo rules I will also NOT be cheesing the ancient guardian when I stop being lazy and actually delve into the ruins. I can see my (other) house from here! Actually my ruins. This is their "hey, look, they must've had agriculture!" area. (And, of COURSE, a brand spanking new lumpy evergreen! The game's tendency of putting trees in stupid locations became kind of a running gag, during that build.) I honestly didn't plan for Building Project 3 to be visible from Building Project 2 and vice-versa, but it's a funny coincidence. And, we'll end for now on my very favourite picture of this batch by far--moonlight in the desert. So...PRETTTYYY... How come I never thought to try that... Well, if it helps any, I'm not using mods to make my worlds _bigger_, I'm just using the Huge size. (Although there IS a mod for that; it's called "Giant Size". I'm not sure if my brick computer can handle it so I haven't tried it yet.) But yeah...it really sucks that console users can't access mods. I was just talking about that with someone else, in fact. Warlockadamm, I love how of all things, MY _un_fancy base picture ended up as the thumbnail for the "Shrines and Base Designs" thread. LOL. That seems to happen fairly often; (the original "Tidy Bases" thread had my first Winter's Feast base as its thumbnail, for example) it must have something to do with where in the thread a particular post is... (I mean that is legit a nice picture. I wouldn't've put it in that thread if I didn't like the way it turned out.) Yeah, mods are fun--for example here's a picture I took just this afternoon: a Chinese god-prince thingie standing next to a lovely flowing stream: Doesn't that just look serene and peaceful? So pretty! ...but, sometimes mods can also get...weird: ...I seem to have water on my water. XD (This is using the newer "Thirst" mod, aka "Thirsty for Tea", which I thought I'd bust out again 'cos the little streams sound PERFECT for the latest building "assignment". So we've been away from our base for many summers. "Main area" Small sanity station, we're working on it.. Dressing room and drying racks area And the berry farm!, the twigs and grass tufts are in an other place, but it's boring so I didn't even want to include it in this screenshot showcase. Terra B Welch Posted April 20, 2020 Share Posted April 20, 2020 Finally getting a pig farm set up in the feast and famine world, and on the Cherry Forest island too, less regrowth there then at base, and it's not far away. Still needs more houses, but it'll be a more reliable source of pig skin when it's done. I know I have battle helms and dark swords but pig skin has other uses besides ham bats and football helmets, more specifically you make leather with it in feast and famine(via drying rack). Also another update pic of the house, more chests, replaced the boring redbird with my pal ron(he wants to smash becky) and also set up a cartographer desk for friends,. I also made sure my favorite fuzzy friend was right at home here! Oh right, and I have a little warly kitchen too for when I switch to warly for spicy powdercakes. Terra B Welch Posted April 22, 2020 Share Posted April 22, 2020 Had an itch to do a dragonfly rush as wigfrid. I think day 7 is the fastest I've done a rush. This was done on Vanilla Banana, and it sure was fun! I probably could've done it by day 6 if I hadn't spent a day getting meatballs set up(had a little bad luck with food). Also felt like sharing this, while I was exploring the map looking for the key points of the rush, I stumbled across oasis which had clockworks at it. Anywho, I get the occasional itch to rush dragonfly on a public server, and it always feels good to satisfy that itch. >.< Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
