Hmm I'd guess Ancient Fuelweaver? All the other bosses and minibosses seem to have an animation when they receive the final hit where they tumble down and die. It isn't so with Fuelweaver where he doesn't die to the last hit but gets weakened sufficiently for shadow hands to take over him and take his regifted life away, leaving a rose in its place, curtesy of Charlie.

Hey guys I thought up of another Wolfgang perk that could benefit the team.

What if characters near Wolfgang "faint" if they take any damage that places them past 0. Then Wolfgang can carry them out of battle and heal them or something. 

Put in suggestions or nah?

So recently I have been obsessed with these forbidden lore knowledge. I made a picture to depict The Constant in my theory. The core idea is "What if plane and dimension are not different names for the same thing?". Everything seems to be arranged well, but I still don't know where Forge and Gorge should be. 

Edit: I suddenly realized that the shadow realm in my picture is really like a shadow wave on the edge. This is an unexpected gain!

I think I might take a small break from the forums, as Klei is doing. All I want to do is talk about Wolfgang while they're open to some feedback and they won't be around to hear me whine. 

I'll bottle up all my feelings until they get back on the 4th.

I will now use this thread to express how disappointed I am that Klei has not made any official announcements yet of how or even if they plan to support the PS5/Series X/S- These consoles are capable of a bigger better Dont Starve then what I’m currently limited with 

(Xbox One version of DST is capped at 6 players maximum & doesn’t even have Klei official or dedicated servers, sometimes it’s like running around in a ghost town.. even with all 6 players in the world.)

They can't just update the current game to where it's better on PS5 than on PS4. Sony has rules for that sort of thing and they don't allow it (idk about Microsoft). They would need to build and release a whole new game specifically for PS5 and I'm sure it's not worth it right now.

I had an idea for wicker rework:

Wicker needs the correct amount of sanity to use her books and they are less powerful BUT! She gains more control over them as a result (some exception below). Wicker has learned to hold back her power and is more in-tuned with the source material, as a result her effects are no longer random. 

This idea comes from the fact that the effects her books create are very random. This forces the player to create huge elaborate designs in order to get the most out of her books. However what if the end goal of those designs was built in to those books instead? She may need sanity foods and the effects would be weaker, but she would save tons of time in the long run.

On Tentacles: The design to get the most out of this is the need for a checker board pattern of destroyed walls to guide the random nature of how the tentacles spawn. This cause one to read waaaaay more books than needed for a HUGE over the top killing field, where you only needed 10-15 tentacles.

Re-worked On Tentacles: You need -15 sanity instead of -50, because you don't spawn 3 tentacles. Instead you spawn 1 tentacle but it isn't random. Rather than getting 15 random possibly useless tentacles (because of how apart they are) you get 5 completely usable tentacles. No set-up required. Tentacles are quite dangerous on their own and can stun lock you to death.

Sleepy Time Stories: This book is a worse panflute, it doesn't really matter that it has double the range. Very fast bosses zone in on you instantly and all mobs are woken up when one of them is hit.

Re-worked Sleepy Time Stories: Increase the crafting cost to include a purple gem. This book instead makes enemies very groggy for 30 seconds making them slower up to 1/3 of their normal speed (same as slow down rounds) and then once the 30 seconds are up the target(s) are put to sleep. Small critters like birds and rabbits are instantly put to sleep. This sets it apart from the panflute a lot more. Also helps set up with tentacle killing field as bosses move slowly towards it (you).

Birds of The World: The set up for this is to fill the screen with anenemies as that forces all birds to spawn in a single spot. 

Re-worked Birds of The World: -25 sanity instead of -50, but you always spawn 15 birds instead of the random 20-30. The birds all land in the same general area and instead of in a circle. Some birds drop feathers when landing. 

Applied Silviculture: To get the most out of this book you need to set up the plants in a checkerboard pattern and then place a lure plant in the middle. The eyeplants that spawn then eat the plants and store them inside the lure plant where they are stored in stacks and can picked up after the plant is killed. 

Re-worked Applied Silviculture:  This is the only one that I'd say to increase the sanity cost to -35 from -33, but have all the plants harvest themselves when the book is read and the plant is already fully grown. Essentially the new growth is kicking off the old growth. 

The End is Nigh!: Not really useful if their isn't a Wx-78 nearby as it just sets everything on fire.

Re-worked The End is Nigh!: This change comes from the night light which also requires a red gem and both kind of provide light. The night light receives 175 seconds of burning time per shadow fuel and reaches the max at 3 shadow fuel or 8.75 minutes.The lightning rod would need to be buffed where it generates more light the more it is hit with lightning, with full charge generating the same light radius as a tier 3 fire. 

Wicker only requires -10 sanity (down from -33 sanity) and can only call down 3 lightning bolts (instead of 16). However she can control where they land and they will all hit the target regardless if the target has moved. Each one will fuel the lightning rod or Wx-78 for 175 seconds of light or overcharged respectively. For a maximum of 5.4 days per full book read. 

 

Since there are already 2 books with gems I decided to generate more books with the remaining missing gems.

101 Spring Cleaning tips and tricks (orange gem): All stackable items on screen will poof to each other and become a stack. 

Mythos of Gorgons (green gem): Turns a character to stone temporarily where they cannot attack or move. They are immune to all stat damage and slowly regenerate stats. 

Wicca for Beginners (yellow gem): Creates a circle that nightmares and nightmare creature (shadow creatures, werepigs, shadow splumonkeys) will flee from and cannot enter or re-enter.

Ice age extinctions (blue gem): Temporarily freezes all mobs.

Ps. The amount Wx-78 gains for overcharged is slightly more and no longer random than what they got with the old "the end is nigh!" Which I believe is five-ish days. 

 

 

Tell me what you like and what you would change then I'm adding it to the suggestions sub-forum.

Today is the last Thursday of 2021, what are the odds of a surprise update today? :) 

At the very least maybe another Klei archived short.. they be away on Vacy but doesn’t mean they didn’t already have something pre-prepared.

i still find people screenshotting me and calling me insane on other websites. needless to say i'm public enemy number 1 :wilson_ecstatic:

Why do people think farms are good? I need help understanding what am I missing. You need to tilt the ground, water plants, manually plant them, use a singing thing and then harvest them one by one. If you do megas you also need to hammer and pick them up. That's just 1 harvest cycle. This is so tedious, annoying, boring and slow. And your reward is food - the same stuff you find on the go litteraly anywhere. Potatoes and such have high healing value, but so are shrooms, jellybeans, butterfly's and pierogies. I just don't get it. 

I've done some slurper challenges in the past for fun,  where I would spawn a slurper at the start and let him suck my hunger forever. It's like having hunger drain of 11 people at all times. If i didn't need farms then, then I can't see a single reason to use them with normal hunger drain. 

If this challange taught me anything, it's that meaty stew and meatballs (made from whatever) are the best food sources. It's the only thing that carried me in these agonizing times of pointless self-torture.
