Place your bets on the next update

Right all it's almost that time again, place your bets on what the next update will be! Our dupes now have feelings! Maybe their feelings will have feelings next! I kid, but I am sure there will be something to come that will "BLOW" our minds, hopefully we will see some chemistry getting added or a new biome with new fun filled materials such as the Lime everyone seems to want badly, radioactivity for those third arms our supply dupe could make use of, new diseases....because right now *Cough* i feel fine, its almost *Cough* like there is no diseases.

Personally I would love to see a new biome, and with it an introduction to 2 or 3 new types of diseases, a new critter and plant to go with the biome, possibly a new gas such as Helium, and or liquid.

Dupes randomly sleeping anywhere but their bed at bedtime, dupes sleeping through wake-up, dupes piling 5 deep on a single hamster wheel, meteor rain starting before dupes discover surface, POI gen overwriting geysers, sand falling into a tile blueprint(while underwater is even worse), getting the following wet, Heavy watt joint plate, mechanical doors, security doors, just to name a few bugs

Well, judging from the dev's pattern when it comes to the upgrades, it tends to be mechanic then upgrade/expansion.

For example, the Occupational Upgrade was a mechanic upgrade. Afterwards Ranching MKI was an upgrade (new geysers, and an upgrade to the critters). Ranching MKII gave us a mechanic: ranching...obviously. Next came the Cosmic Upgrade, which gave us a new biome/expansion. And most recently the Expressive upgrade gave us a mechanic: dupes' sudden self awareness.

With that in mind I can confidently say that we're most likely going to get either an expansion, or an already established mechanic upgraded.

In the recent upgrades they added a lot but there seems to be a big part missing. Refined minerals. It would be a material family specialised in insulation. Just like refined metals allow for better heat transfer (metal itles, radiant pipes) refiend minerals (ceramic will probably be the first one) will be required for insulated tiles and insulated pipes. This way abyssalite would be still useful for insulation when used for normal tiles but you could achieve better overall inuslation using refined materials,lategame getting a superinsulator beating even abyssalite in efficiency.

To get those materials we will most likely need new minable minerals like limestone. That would help balance the steel production as well as allow for other lime usages (concrete, fuel for the carbon skimmer). For that we would need a new biome and that bings a lot of other stuff like a new raw metal, new plants, new critters and of course new dangers.

What I hope for is a Limestone biome.  Ideally, it would contain (but not be limited to):

  • Limestone - a new mineral that can be processed into lime
  • Volgus - a nuisance critter that carries a new disease and can't be tamed
  • move Dusk Caps to this biome and fill the biome with CO2 so we can have wild-grown mushroom

And as far as new buildings go, I'm still waiting for some kind of Cryostorage unit that preserves eggs, allowing is to fully automate our ranches without having to resort to silly (albeit clever) techniques like interrupting Auto-Sweepers

I need Dig or Die and Oxygen not Included content in one game so for ONI I lack of boss monsters, lava volcano eruptions from the bottom from time to time, fights, turrets, and possible way to escape asteroid for next asteroid with new materials to gain access for new battle suits new weapons etc, here is the video what I'm dreaming about in ONI:

Hopefully the idea for refining raw minerals into refined minerals would be cool. I also found that abyssalite turns into liquid tungsten at a high enough temperature. The anti-entropy thermo nullifier says it uses Refined Neutronuim Crystals to cool the surrounding by pumping hydrogen to them. A better digging mechanic would work too (The higher the mining job tree you are, the less material lost per tile)
