The REAL gift to players who own RoG

DST RoG skins

  1. 1. What do you think about the skins suggested in this topic?

    • I would agree that having more gifts for owning RoG would be great and the skin concepts mentioned in this topic seem neat

    • The skin ideas are nice, although I'd rather them be open to all players in terms of obtaining (none of these skins being loyal skins)

    • Don't particularly like the skins themselves, although the idea of giving out more to RoG owners I would agree with

    • Don't particularly like the skins themselves nor the concept of giving RoG owners specifically something more than what we already got

So, who else is kind of disappointed by what we got for owning RoG? A skin for the firepit which we will never use because the Bottomless pit we got for participating in beta is cooler and the Fanged firepit is even cooler? Or hotter, since it's not an endothermic firepit skin... Aaaanyway, the point is, I am quite disappointed and possibly some others out there are too. Well, previously I had these weird ideas of re-skinned giants in the game, and since RoG gift was kind of disappointing, I came up with an idea by putting the two together;

Next time whoever has entered their RoG code in DST, would get 2 more, quite special skins. One of which would be a loyal giant skin, which would be picked at random. These giant skins could be turned on and off (along with them could come skins for their minions; skins for the Lavae and the Mosslings, anyone?), so if you have this skin activated, the next server you join and are the one that Bearger/Deerclops spawns next to or are the closest one to a Gmoose nest/Dragonfly arena spawn point or something along the lines, your giant skin would be applied to that giant. Of course, if it's the right giant :p The other skin that you would get is a Timeless one, which could only be traded (duh), although you could get more of these through gifts (even rarer than Elegant though) or through the Trade-Inn (may be; depends if Klei wants Timeless skins obtainable in such ways); this would be a skin that corresponds to your giant skin and would be for a giant's item, such as the Scaled chest, Eyebrella or the Luxury Fan.

Here are some ideas I've come up with in terms of what you could get (remember that when you're gifted with these, it would be pretty random):

* Tigear (Bearger is now a Tiger and a Bear not a Badger and a Bear) + Hunting Vest (A Hibearnation vest with a Tiger look)

* Polarbadger (A badger from the Arctic, who would've thought!) + Iceolation Pack (A Pure-white look for the Insulated Pack)

* Hornetfly (Giant Hornet-Fly breed. And this one has horns ;) ) + Stringmail (Warning; this fuzzy yellow-and-black piece of armour can set things on fire)

* Dragonfly (A beatiful Dragonfly that spews fire. Blue fire is even hotter, isn't it?) + Sparkled Chest (Looks like a gem and acts like one; it doesn't burn)

* Eagoose (The mighty, the goofy; Eagoose) + Eagle Wing (Wing of the eagle will keep you safe from heat and fire!)

* Goosebat (Aaaa! It's a giant bat!) + Screeching Pain (If it wasn't loud and destructive already)

* Iceclops (You would think the giant of winter would be made out of ice. Well, now he is!) + Icyus Shootius (I'm surprised it doesn't freeze my enemies instead)

* Muclops (It's so cold and freezing and... eww, there's snot everywhere!) + Slimebrella (The slimier, the better)

And just one more skin idea I think I should throw in, which isn't related to anything above: Ice-o-thermic firepit (It's made out of actual ice! Except that it isn't).

So, guys what do you think? Are you glad with just that one skin that you'll never use/all that you got for owning RoG? Or would you like more? And regardless of that, would you like such type of skins integrated into the game but perhaps in some other way?

Okaaaay, I've just seen way more bottomless pits than mini-monumants made and honestly I kind of like the mini-monument better myself. But, any comments on the other skins being given out as gifts (2 out of the ones listed per RoG owning player randomly)? Or perhaps some other skins if anyone has any ideas or different approaches? Or is everyone satisfied with just the mini monument skin?

I think the key word here is gift. That is, all skins given out are gifts and no-one should be complaining what they are.

Of course, it would be better if loyal skins were more diverse regarding what prefab they apply to - e.g. endothermic firepit could be the target of a skin as well, as it's been suggested in the past.

I don't think anyone is complaining about the gift, listen to @Muche on this one, keyword is gift. None of us had to get it, but Klei gave it to us because were good people (most of the time :^}). Point is. The firepit is fine, yes a little lack luster, but it's a gift. So be happy.

I don't think the RoG gift should be changed, even though it's not specifically RoG related. What I really want though for the SW gift is an endothermic firepit skin with shells and stuff and blue waves for fire.

I dunno, that sounds kinda risky. You put in the code and BAM! Suddenly, all these bugs that were never there in DST appear and ruin the game forever.

(I'm just busting your chops. That sounds like a cool skin idea, though.)

I never said changed, but go along with it. I was saying 2 in my post, because most of us already got our Mini Monuments. And the skins I listed were just a suggestion and my question was... you know what screw it, I'll just put up a poll.

I, too, think we should rebel over a gift. They give us, the loyal-est(?) players...ever... a simple a fire pit skin? SMASH THE SYSTEM! Let's then insert our own ideas into the game, make the devs do it, and yell at them for not complying. WHO"S WITH ME?!?!

I think you got the wrong idea about how a gift works, buddy. Just saying. I like my fire-pit skin.

What's the point in exaggerating this? It's just a suggestion. It's weird how some people react hostile towards suggestions they disagree with :(

Edit: Plus, half of the skins I suggested, I suggested as being Timeless and therefore being possible to obtain even without owning RoG, which basically would add new skins to the game in general. There seems to be a lot of discussion on the concept of the implementation of these skins and not on the skins themselves, which is a tad bit odd :L Like, who wouldn't want a Slimebrella :D

Also, sorry for forgetting to put up the poll, I'll put it up now.

Because you're forcing your subjective views on people based on... well, it's baseless... or maybe from a handful of experiences...

Oh wow, I didn't realize I said that bottomless pit is cooler... why did I say that if I don't really think that? The second one, I was asking who else is disappointed. What's wrong with that? And the third one too... what the hell, man? It's like saying anything that isn't baby-friendly is now frowned upon

I simply said what my opinion was and then asked what others thought, so what the hell?

Because the phrasing and order of the paragraphs give off the feel of having ideas shoved against their wills... but as now I see your last edit, that last bit would have been a welcome opening to the OP as it asks the reader of what their opinion is before you tell them what's yours... it will engage them to be more open to discussion especially when given the right tone and word usage... the polls are a nice addition as well...

Also yes, this was not even a suggestion but an outright "DO THIS INSTEAD" instead of using tone that would represent a suggestion... it's not about babying but keeping the discussion open and polite... but being child-friendly is the recommended format as well as being polite... we also have kids here you know... sure they might be in the generation where swearing is normal but why breed it here as well? (Though I am guilty of innuendos myself hehehe)

I hope this will be taken into account the next time you ask "I don't understand why I'm being misunderstood/my points are being misunderstood... ;)(Great, now that I've basically told you that "you should write like this", my points are not going to be taken into account by some :T being a neutral adult is hard lel)

Ah, but since this is basically a reply that basically forces you to change your ways, then this is not much better is it, ah, C'est la vie...

No... Wow, it's weird how you easy it is to misinterpret what I'm writing. The layout was supposed to be like this:

"Here is my idea:

blahdiblah

This is what will happen with my idea implemented."

I'm simply shocked, this is really weird :~

*sigh*

Then write better... just look at all the comments... you got. Sure, in another light, these would be good suggestions but the tone is written in that they "should be done"...

Also, this one's a bit presumptuous... I myself prefer the Mini Monument as its elevated design makes for a good centerpiece in my base, and the Bottomless Fire Pit as like checkpoints on roads or the corners of my base :p

Its true that the bottonless looks way better and its wich i usually use.But then the mini monument is always nice for placing them on some special places.anyways on late game one usually places more firepits on the base because of its size so you can use both :D
