I cannot believe what I am seeing on the Klei forums today. Actual Nazis have entered the chat.

I'm sorry that you take my joke that serious. I just forgot how people could be sensitive about those things.

I like you pal and I'm not a Nazi, sorry about that.

I just wanted do say how stupid is the idea of removing things whenever it touches any cultural stuff. I hate when video games can not even have real world thing because some triggered folks saying it's becoming political. And just because of a star, all forum starts being collapsed.

Did not wanted make anyone upset. Sorry guys.

This entire outrage was actually because of one thing and one thing only...

Klei not implementing my giant slingshot idea for Walter :wilsoalmostangelic:

A massive ballista like slingshot that is carried like a heavy object (statue) and requires walter to be mounted to big woby (doesnt work with beefalo tho) to use. Can shoot special AoE rounds and has a higher damage regular round than basic slingshot!

Edit: gamehun20 stop wavey jones-ing all my posts!! :wilson_enraged:

Edit 2.0: Dear god, the waveyness is increasing :wilson_horror:

Can you explain the joke cause I seem to be missing the punchline? Your antisemitism is not okay and disgusting. No Jewish person asked for this change nor do we care. We're not triggered you're just gross

How the hell did this not get deleted

I reported that, but I think they aren't hiding/deleting any posts to avoid this false narrative of censors, but in the end everything ended exactly the way we imagined, Nazism and anti-Semitism

A jewish said change the skin and it's changed (which I think was unecesarry but however I believe new one looks better) and chinese players are angry rn because of that. So I shared happy merchant meme, which used in internet over years. This person did not directly, but involuntarily he caused a big senseless fight.

I have nothing with jews and I'm not a nazi, I'm from midle eastern too, from a race that had a lot of genocides over years. Unlike most of people, I though they will laugh and pass on it. So as people hate it, I realized I was wrong and apologized.

You know nothing about me and try to tag me with being nazi and anti-semitist. Bruh, my native language have origin of arabic/persian language, I'm the semitic lol

Please refrain from discussing this topic further, as the situation is escalating. Some Chinese players have started referring to that Jewish friend as "soap" in their forum, which draws a disturbing parallel to the Nazis' use of murdered Jews to make soap. Jazzy is accurate. Those individuals are displaying Nazi-like behavior and engaging in racism.

Oh, regarding this issue, that's it

Some people in East Asian countries believe that the massacre of Arabs by some Israelis is similar to the Nazi behavior, so the "soap" here refers to the Jews who inherited the Nazi spirit, not the Jews who suffered in the World War II. This meaning cannot be abused

I don't think this particular discussion should drag on much further, but I also think being educated on this is important. Learn the history behind these things before you post them, it being used in the internet for years does not make it okay to post.

As everbody uses internet know, it's used on every social media that have memes. I never saw that kind of triggering event and yes, I saw how DST community is not okay with it. As I saw it on first post, I apologized.

But even after that being called Nazi and antisemitic is not okay too. Just fricking laugh or take my apologize. Calling me a nazi not making you better than me.

So they believe that the Jewish friend inherited the spirit of the Nazis? Furthermore, I doubt they have any sympathy for the victims:

You didn't apologize, you said "sorry" for people who took it too serious. That's just a backhanded way of trying to tell people they're too sensitive and absolve yourself. It doesn't matter where you're from or what youre background is, anyboody has the capacity to be hurtful and demean others. Caricatures like that are dehumanizing, take some time to consider why posting something like that affects others negatively. Even if you don't think you're anti-semitic, people can still be hurt by your actions whether that was your intention or not.

And if you're gonna apologize, at least be genuine and considerate or don't bother apologizing.

The concession made by Klei this time is very rare in the history of DST - however, it still cannot satisfy players in the Chinese community. Until now, whether on Tiebe or the Bilibili platform where the official account of Kolei has been established, countless players can be seen criticizing Klei's previous statements. Even worse, many criticisms are very harsh, including many calls for Klei to replace or even dismiss JoeW. And the moderates among them also expressed their willingness to continue their negative reviews on Steam while waiting for Klei's further response.

Obviously, communication between the Chinese community and Klei has fallen into estrangement and suspicion - which is precisely the cause of the matter. At first, Klei did not understand the thoughts of a large number of players in the Chinese community, so he made incorrect judgments and statements. I don't think replacing a community manager like the Chinese community requires can solve this problem. On the contrary, I believe Klei's previous actions in this matter have been as good as possible - the problem is that DST is a game with a large number of Chinese players.

That's right, even if Klei makes significant concessions and makes JoeW apologize deeply like some people in the Chinese community say, or if someone else runs the community, things like this will still happen because there is a lack of effective communication between the Chinese community and Klei. Estrangement turns into suspicion, suspicion turns into anger, and anger can lead to things that no one wants to happen. I believe it is not Klei's bias towards the Chinese community. The low price of skin in the Chinese region and New Year's activities indicate that Klei is willing to consider the Chinese community.

In a recent response, JoeW stated, 'We will be working to better improve communications with players outside of our forums in the future.'

”This is actually a very important thing. Most of the players in DST come from China, but this largest group of players has difficulty communicating with Klei through the Klei forum due to language barriers and DNS pollution. If there could be more communication between Chinese players and Klei, things like today wouldn't happen - and this is precisely what most game companies haven't achieved, because DST is a special game compared to other games, and its Chinese player base is really too large.

I think the importance of this matter is very high, and even Cole can add dedicated employees for it. And this will not only be a burden for Klei, but also an important help - players in the Chinese community will no longer be suspicious of Klei, and in their minds, DST will become a top tier game due to various content updates and high-quality skin - many people thought so before this incident, including me. The opinions and requirements of players in the Chinese community regarding game content will also be met, and DST's market in China will continue to expand, with increased revenue likely far exceeding the salaries of Chinese community specialists. We are very grateful to Lin, Jeddy, and others who have communicated with the Chinese community, but we also see that even if they are exhausted in this job, it is difficult for them to achieve perfection. I hope to have more resources and people to help them with this work.

What's happening now is something I don't want to see, whether it's the verbal abuse of Klei and JoeW by players in the Chinese community, or their hostile attitude towards Jews. And on the forum, some people accused Chinese players of being too selfish, and some even accused Chinese players of being Nazis. Everything is caused by a lack of communication, and increasing communication can prevent bad things from happening and also promote the emergence of good things. In addition, if Klei, who have always been loved by people, can explain their past misunderstandings about the community, they will continue to be loved by people - of course, this is just my guess. Personally, I thought that a few days ago, Klei deleted that Chinese Muslim who came with sincere hope post because they are not clear about the public opinion of Chinese players, because if the entire community were unwilling to continue arguing about the helmet skin incident, So this post is indeed a destruction of the gaming community.

Finally, I am very sorry for all of this. A few days ago, my post was just to make more Chinese players' voices heard, without any "dishonesty or provocation" in it. I have invested 2000 hours in this game and purchased a large number of skins. I often defend Klei in disputes on Chinese community forums, and I have no reason to attack a game or gaming company that I love. I apologize again and welcome any suggestions or suggestions regarding my proposal.

Yes, saying you are a Nazi is stupid. There is a multitude of reasons to post that meme. I am glad you apologized, but I don't think you understand the reason why it is bad to do so in any community, not just these forums. What allowed the real Nazis to do extreme attrocities was not that the majority was hateful, but that the majority didn't oppose it. If you found such an anti-semitic piece back then and found it funny, you were effectively spreading the "ok-ness" with the regime.

The problem is a line needs to be drawn because some parts of history are quite offensive to modern sensibilities while race and religion get the spotlight there are a large amount of disturbing things that have happened throughout history that were considered the cultural norm would you be fine with those things being implemented too just keep "cultural" accuracy?

With all due respect, your Chinese proficiency is really poor

“这下不得不支持小胡子了”you translated it as" I support Hitler ", but there is no" 我 "(I) in this sentence. Your translation is completely wrong, in fact, his subject is Jewish, referring to" soap "inheriting the spirit of Nazi (supporting Hitler)

You need to know that if soap is to be associated with the Nazis, it is a very serious topic in China. Because China opposed fascism in the World War II.Tieba even added a section called "Hell's Jokes" specifically for this, which means these topics are serious and cannot be laughed at, so those who laugh need to go to hell!
