So... wait, all Wicker got was more books?

The problem with Wicker was that she had no interesting mechanics to herself, she had craftable books sure, but they never felt core to her character.

This is like, the exact joke scenario I have been talking about for months.

Because a bunch of interesting books that actually do things that you can think about are so much more bland than "Wilson but number bigger" like so much of the roster. If they did anything other than add books it would just ruin her, that's the joke scenario.

Wait, no new disadvantages for Wicker? At minimum. I thought she would straight up refuse to eat spoiled foods like Wigfrid does with veggies or Warly with non-crockpot dishes. It seems like another early WX-78 beta scenario where you added new perks (the immunity to gestalt and Bearger's drowsiness as far as I understood) without giving any drawbacks.

To be fair, her thing really was her books- unless you somehow consider her sleep mechanic and being able to craft tier one the "bigger" part of her kit. (And the no forced sleep could certainly be considered a nice boon for things)

And while you certainly could put more on her base person, she never had the problem other characters with that flavor of mechanics had where you had no reason to pick that specific character in order to access their mechanics (The 'issue' that Winona and Warly have) if you want to use the books, you play Wicker.

It will come down to exactly how interesting the books are, but they did add quiet a few, so I hope the range of things they can do is at least interesting and makes Wicker effectively some sort of book-mage. I don't know what you could really do to Wicker herself as an old lady librarian that wouldn't feel like a random addition just to try and make her play unique when she really doesn't have any reason to.

Really gotta know how much damage counts as "light damage" for Walter, and also if armor helps out any. Could be a new use for Marble armor to ride around on Woby to avoid any speed penalties while blasting things.

The poop pellet buff is also pretty neat, what I've seen people ask for constantly. No more counter-productively aggroing an entire horde just to get one enemy to leave you alone.

people saying that wortox is op just shows how much troubles they have to get healing food even after rwys update

are you saying that team heal and teleporting at will for killing butterflies isn't op?

and now he's even more op, additional free teleport, teleporting through map, getting more hunger from eating souls and gaining sanity from healing others, basically slightly negating his ONLY drawbacks

She seems to be getting "fluff, on top of" what she already has in her kit, akin Wigfrid Songs/"rework" (or Wendy for that matter). Totally optional elements. Depends how useful those new books are, of course. But generally Wickerbottom is an ok-rounded character. People pointing at her minimal cons - insomnia and food spoilage stats penalty (in relation with medium-to-highly experienced players) seem to forget other characters have similarly minimal cons (once more: in relation to medium or high-experienced players the most).

That Books Cabinet was a community suggestion if I remember well, hence kudos to KLei for listening to suggestions some more.

Also nice past characters get further punctual re-balances to better their game-play en large.

just because something is good doesn't mean it's "op"

his "only drawback" (which is false, he is also a monster) is one of the downsides that most work required, even more than warly's
