What do you think the Wolfgang rework will do?

I think sanity as a whole should get a rework . As of right now, you go insane, rabbits change and drop beard hair, and you get easy to kite nightmare monsters that come at you 2 at a time, maybe 3 if you're unlucky. I don't know how to change insanity in a satisfactory way, but I think it should be changed.

Insanity is still the most common death for new players, or top 2-3, making it even harder to deal with would definitely detriment the game overall. Not saying it is hard to deal with, it's obviously very easy once you know to kite them.

Maybe something Wolfgang specific like he could get up to 3 or 4 shadow monsters, since he is more afraid after all, but again, this would kill his viability for newer players, and they have to keep them in mind, probably even more so than experienced ones.

Well I mean aside from allowing us to set Shadow Monsters to Tons or None there really isn’t much else Klei can do to help? We already have the options to choose to have Shadow monsters spawn way more then normal or Never spawn at all..

But I do get what your saying- all characters should be easier to pick up and play as (including Wes which he did get..) without having these Harsh overly extreme downsides to have to deal with.

For me the HARDEST PART of playing the new Character WANDA is the game lagging.. It lags so terribly bad at times that- fighting just 1 single Beefalo can be dangerous. But even that, can be easily reverted with as little as two ageless clocks.

There are no longer any hard or challenging characters in this game: I believe Klei is doing this INTENTIONALLY so the entire cast is easier to play & enjoy.. and they can later add harder content if they choose to.

Wolfgangs rework should have a downside, but it should be a FUN one related to his phobias or his personalities and NOT a highly annoying downside like probably what he currently has in Puny mode.

If I was a gabbling man- I would even go so far as to say we may see Puny form removed entirely so there’s only Normal Wolfgang and Mighty Variation.. because- Every other characters harsh crippling downsides have been almost disappearing why wouldn’t Wolfgangs?

Tbh Wanda isn't as squishy as people make her out to be her hp is equal to thathat of Wilson staying on old age with a bad connect is more so the player's fault middle age still deals alot of damage and old age with dark armor can still take about 5-6 hits before things get dangerous.

Wanda doesn't have to be risky unless you want that sweet sweet kappa damage XD  I try to craft and use dark armor as soon as I get the alarming clock so I am not so close to death.  I basically never stop farming nm fuel to keep up her addictions lol

I chug green caps and monster meat to keep the addiction under control.

Since I go to the archives to get some thulecite and living logs early, I grab a bunch of blue caps.  They seem to be super effective for her.  Others might try to claim dibs, but I make up something about meta and tier lists until they give up arguing and give me the shrooms.

The addiction gets risky when you contemplate taking off your armor to absorb a hit to push yourself to elder but you're not sure just how many years that's gonna cost...  Sometimes I keep red caps just in case.  Shrooms really do solve everything in this game.

That's where monster meat comes in.

If they give him a impactful downside I imagine people will start pointing fingers at Wendy and Webber tho personally I'm in the camp of giving him a more impactful one.

I guess Klei will not mess with his strengths and just give him minor perks so he can function better as a team player, so I believe that a big disadvantage will solve most of the complaints about him.

Being real honest with you guys i just want to the "scared by monsters" part  be really a thing cuz plus 10% insanity aura is same as nothing once he dissolves mobs before the aura do damage on his sanity

33% at least, hes a coward or not?

It wouldnt make any diference in game to be honest

I would like to see new mechanical changes instead of some stats and number changes

I feel they won’t be doing anything super crazy like Webber. So just add things not really take away or adjust. He’s a super strong character I could see the outrage if they nerfed him.

Klei will take the risks Klei feels like taking outrage or no outrage.. it’s their character, they have this vision for what they want him to be- They will adjust him to live up to those standards… rather that’s a Buff, a Nerf, or some middle ground between the two.. They’re not going to just suddenly throw random things don’t fit who his character is into his kit..

I see ALOT of Willow Players complaining about “Bernie” being something random they added to Willow & erased her “Fire Related Perks” into non-existence, but that’s not TRUTH- Willow only ever was labeled as the Fire Immune or a Fire Starter, but even way back then… she ALWAYS has Bernie in her image, she just didn’t have him in actual GAMEPLAY until DST..

Look guys, there’s Bernie, A Match in her hand AND the Orphanage she burned down all in one image and in the original DS game before Willow ever got her rework- So can we put this “Fire Powers” nonsense to rest finally?

Now as far as Wolfgang Goes.. well here is his from Solo DS same as Willows.

it’s not much to go on, but we can see he clearly lifts a Dumbell to stay fit, and is AFRAID OF MONSTERS AND DARKNESS

So okay yeah the guy hits like being smacked around by the worlds strongest man, but even the fearsome lion in wizard of oz was a big coward without courage.

FIX WOLFGANG, I don’t care what you have to Nerf or break in the process of doing it, but ultimately… make him more fun and exciting to play as.

He will get a crafting tab 100% guaranteed.

Tbh, I really hope not. I just don’t see this fitting him.

I think it would be interesting to see him grow strong the more players are around him. If I remember correctly he’s a scaredy cat so I think that would make sense form a lore perspective.

Here's a thought...

What if his wimpy and mighty forms were tied to sanity levels instead of hunger, and his unique abilities (eg. lifting weights) were used to convert hunger into sanity to restore his mighty form?

It makes more sense for his character to be weak when scared than it does for him to be weak when hungry. Gameplay wise, it also makes mighty form less of a resource drain while you are puttering around base and staying away from the scary.

This would also make boss fights more interesting: Wolfgang can still deal double damage to bosses, but he'll need to compensate for their sanity aura by bringing brain restoratives to the fight.

tragic backstory and I'll be happy

I got one: He used to be an army man from Russia (refering back to his Guest of honor skin being the formal clothing of Miltary men) got traumatized by war, quit and became a strong man for a circus and probably had something to do with that train accident.
