Why do console players have to wait an additional 3-4 weeks? Could you not just pick one release date for all? Consoles already don’t get the beta. I know you said you’re not going to do this, but why? How would PC players even know they are waiting an additional 3-4 weeks if you didn’t make this announcement and just said “Hey everyone, The Turn of Tides game update Return of Them is going to be available for everyone in 3-4 weeks. We’ll announce the date soon.”?

I don’t see how this is a problem. Everyone would be happy to see a release date coming soon.

Develop a game before you start complaining, It's hard work. Klei doesn't really have a big team of developers like AAA titles. Klei is also working on other games to. I understand the frustration, but please keep it down. They are trying.

Let me get right on that.

I’m offering them my opinion which they can take however they like. Do you think many console users even come to these forums to show frustration? How many DST console players even know that there is an update coming up?  How many know that Klei has done character refreshes this year?  How would they?

Well there’s even less reason to delay the release of a PC version that’s ready because it might make console players feel bad. If hardly any of them even know about it, it can’t make them feel bad.

Seeing as Thursday is the usual date of Klei releasing things, along with the fact that they host a dev stream on Thursday, most likely yes.

Well, lately they've been shaking things up and releasing stuff on Tuesdays, the heretics. :wilson_sneaky:

But yeah, considering that it's Wednesday, we'll be getting it tomorrow.

Playing the game? All the content that was promised is on console, even if it got delayed. The pc version and the console are pretty much the same(except mods) after the RoT comes out on console. I am very satisfied with the pace they update. Many forget that they pace they update now is so much faster then it used to be. Klei has improved a lot over the years. Oh and i think more console player then you think know about the upcoming updates, considering the PlayStation communities write about it 24/7.

I really hope that the PS4 community does know, but it makes me wonder why Klei caters to the PC fan base first if there are so many console users eagerly waiting. Releasing on one platform before another is a great way to upset fans. I’m in both DST communities on PS4, some people know, some do not.  Together both communities have maybe 10,000 users.

I’ve played DST for years and we never got The Forge on console, I missed the Gorge because I didn’t know it was coming at all. I watched PC users play both on twitch and YouTube. Return of them: Turn of tides so far has been the exact same thing.

Its really fun watching others play a game you own, but can’t do any of the same things in.

Holding back an update that's already been delayed by multiple months for 3-4 extra weeks on all platforms would be a great way to upset fans, too.

How would you even know it’s held back?  Everyone would have a release date and be happy. They could upset no one by just having one release date.

One dev could make a mistake later and say "we had this update ready for couple of weeks" which would make a lot of ppl angry. Ppl could think "maybe this delay isnt needed" on a later update if an estimate is made.

I also wouldnt say they are favorising pc players.

It’s ready for everyone or ready for no one. Not that hard.

I'm sorry that the console players have to wait for updates, but I don't think Klei necessarily caters towards PC fans more, it's just that Steam happens to be more lenient to updates than Sony or Microsoft. At the very least, they do appear to be testing and improving controller support for boating.

I still think that any access at all is important, because it's much simpler for Klei to receive feedback and bug reports that will help smoothen the experience for everyone.
