Ok you're right but what about teleporting? It says that he can teleport "short distances" but when you have the mod "aerial view" you can teleport 3 times and you're at the end of the map

Are you really gonna assume character balance based on their abilities when they interact with mods? That doesn’t seem fair....

That's a mod and unfair to change things based on mods that aren't in the game itself. You can't account for developers to change the way a character acts based entirely on a mod that they themselves had no part in. If anything take it up with the mod developer. Besides, if you're using mods that's kinda cheaty anyways. If you're thinking in terms of pvp, stuff like mini-map HUD actively shows the enemy player before they have a chance to see you. Aerial mod as well.

true however isn't Aerial clientside? That's basically an advantage everyone should have.

Oh yeah definitely! Some people don't know about it though. But can you imagine making a game and having to write a bunch of spaghetti code because some dude came out with a mod that had the unintentional affect of giving your character a slight buff?

The problem is that the mod is entirely client sided. Meaning literally anyone can exploit it if they wanted to. And it's not like the original author of the mod could fix that without making it server sided (something you don't want to do for a mod like that).

This is a problem entirely of the community and mod author itself. I wouldn't immediately call out Klei for fixes to this because it's not something that was intended for the content of their game.

Intended or not, the issue still remains. Regardless of opinions on the matter, I'm posting it to the bug tracker if no one else has. It'll be their decision if they want to fix it or not, but at the very least it should be brought to their attention.

Update on the whole unlimited range teleport thing: It's not unlimited. As I was testing this to get some screenshots of the issue, I discovered that Klei is a step ahead of us. Both the lazy explorer and Wortox's soul hop do in fact have limited range. So using mods to change the camera can't be used to exploit these.

So, @_Ellat_, I have to ask: Did you just assume he could teleport long distances or were you running other mods?

Wortox’s Abilities
Wortox the Soul Starved has hopped his way into the Constant to join our intrepid band of Survivors. He’s a fun, mischievous fellow with a big, kind heart… minus the fact that he eats souls for sustenance.

Here are his details: 

  • Wortox catches the Souls of creatures that die around him.
  • Souls can be used for the following abilities:
    • Wortox can eat delicious souls (then loses some sanity).
    • Wortox teleports a short distance.
    • Release Souls to heal nearby allies.
  • Unfortunately for Wortox, his body craves Souls. Food is only ½ as sustaining.
  • Wortox can be overloaded with Souls, causing him to drop them and lose sanity.
  • Wortox is less afraid of monsters.

As with Winona, we will likely be tuning Wortox with balance adjustments in the future. Please let us know your thoughts and feedback!

Wortox can be unlocked in the following ways:

  • Wortox is available for purchase for $6.99, in the Wortox Chest. Wortox’s Survivor skin set is included in this chest for free.
  • The Wortox Deluxe Chest is $10.99 and includes the Survivor, Minotaur and Uncorrupted skin sets.
  • You can weave Wortox for 2700 spool.

Console Update
Unfortunately we hit a bit of a snag. XboxOne will get the update today but we aren't able to get it out today for PS4. It's possible we can have it out tomorrow, but we expect it to come next week. We're sorry for the delay. 

The following bundles are now available on console:

  • Voxola Warehouse Chest
  • All Survivors Gladiator Chest

Official Chinese Support
New to this release, our in-house Chinese specialist has reviewed our entire string library (more than 25,000 strings!) and we are now officially supporting Simplified Chinese. If you have any feedback on our translation, we would be happy to hear it.

Upcoming
At the end of April we are planning to release the first major game update. This first update will be focused on laying the groundwork for more content. 

In addition, the next character to be refreshed will be Willow, launching at the same time as the game update.

It costs 8.99 but according to the update post it should be 10.99

Update post they made is by 10.99$ not €. I bought it in dst in game store 8.99€ too

He doesn’t really beat Wolfgang or Wigfrid because he’s not focused on battle. And in pvp just because he can get to the enemy quicker doesn’t mean much because everybody else can get to the enemy just at their own pace (Even tho he can escape like hell). Plus he’s more useful as a support character.

Imagine it’s reaaallllyyy late game so a Wolfgang, Wigfrid, a maxxed out WX, and like 6 catapults, are gonna face off Toadstool and a lil fluffy boi is just sittin back healing ya and enjoying the show.

I mean aerail view is a client mod that lets you see a lot more and teleport a lot further

My friends told me that areial view mod makes teleports op guess I just misunderstood what they meant

I think it's because making a separate steam DLC for each possible skin you can buy would make DST's steam store page very long and chaotic. Also, this way you can have "all DLCs" without actually having to buy some skins multiple times.

I don't consider these current character updates nerfs. They feel more like a evolution for gameplay. Though I'm a casual, so maybe I'm in the wrong.

You can get Wortox skins from drops BUT you can't get the character from drops nor the chest, only the content.
