I got excited for a second because when I clicked, held down, and dragged on the page and a smaller, semi-translucent version of the image showed up that I could drag around. I thought it might be part of the puzzle and something would show up if I dragged it over the right area (like in the darkness or over a torch), but nope, it's just a feature of the web browser. Dreams = crushed Maybe the devs could mess around with this kind of thing in the future though...?

As a friend pointed out, the symbols in the trailer are similar to these. 

Maxwell's notes also contain an obelisk(obelisk turn perhaps?). 

The staff would be better with... dunno, spikes and other pointy bits?

Checked the portal, it seems to do the same. Although... not sure what this code is supposed to do. Add/remove some kind of walls? Terraform something?

it is an ice rod, m'lady.

 

not a telelocator staff, as far as i can tell.

It's really far fetched but here is what my theory is -

Sound a bit suspicius some time ago there were sound files (that got removed asap) to put it in 2 words vine infestation ... will the terraforming come from the portal like vines start to spread from it ? There were files about vines able to bloom go over the water and everywhere ...

But this is based if the terraforming is really a terraforming and not something else

I'm hoping someone will try something dumb and we end up solving the whole puzzle a week early. It happened with the old SW puzzle so why can't it happen again right?

From what I remember, I stayed up pretty late for the Cyclum puzzles. So yeah, 2-3 hours from now.

Charlie's theme IS vines, and there are more of them and more roses as the posters went on. And when Fuelweaver is dying, vines pull him down and its heavily implied Charlie's doing that. Tho yeah terraforming is probably atrium tiles

Definitely a fire symbol. Frankly, fire in Don't Starve tends to mean life since we need fire to provide light and warmth (or cold in terms of the endothermic fire) and life when you think about the life-giving amulet.
