Wave after Wave

Once the ship is out of sight, it becomes fairly hard to see through the water. Even Meritursas' lure can hardly pierce the depths of it. Amongst creeping columns of ice jutting out of the sand that rests at the bottom of the pelican's mouth, faint silhouettes of shipwrecks can be seen. Upon further inspection, it's clear that some of them remain in-tact. Shining bits and pieces glimmer against the light of his eyes. Is it treasure? Meri's too big to inspect further.

Meritursas ignores the shipwrecks; it looked like all they held were those little hard-to-digest yellow things humans carried around to make themselves less appetizing.  He continues looking around.

Kate tried to shove Wiffleball off and away from her, but being inside a crate, all that was accomplished was lightly shoving him against the side. She gave up her feeble effort quickly and curled up to resume her sobbing, pain being added to the list of things that was making tears flow.

Syndir wasn't quite sure where exactly everyone was nor what they were doing, but one thing was for certain: they weren't getting the whole lot of them out of this situation. Which of course left such a weighing responsibility upon himself, but he could accomplish the feat easily.

Creating a cone around his mouth, or rather where is mouth would be without the mask, with his hands and he shouted upwards, "Say uh... oh great ruler of the sky realm, and what naught. Could you like please let us go and stuff?"

Jaw stops his food-seeking walking and stops to look at the surroundings. He looks over the edge of the ship and notices the shipwrecks. They were eaten...he remembers now.

But his attention is then caught by something else. That octopus girlguy was puking ink.

That...made Jaw even hungrier.

He slowly approaches Wheke.

"...f...FOOD?"

Gyx came back up on the deck. He saw the owl was still guarding Crab, but since he was back he didn't need to. He opened his spellbook, and shouted

"Dismiss!"

The owl started dropping and sagging, until it was just a rug, which burnt to a crisp. Crab came out, holding it's claws out to Gyx, who picked him up. Now that THAT was out of the way, Gyx turned to the rest of the crew.

Along the length of the sea floor it really seems as if it's oversaturated with wreckage. There has to be something of value down here. Ignoring it all, Meritursas spends a good while drifting over a field of ship carcasses. A few things seem to sway out of place, but are ignored as well.

______

The tursai moans, retreating back into the water for a moment. The puffy flesh of its grotesque face had been easily torn open, and it was now patterned with gaping wounds. It snarls, frantically shaking as it tries to re-locate Malii.

______

The pelican drifts away from the storm, at last, as it dissipates around the bird. A voice echoes through its head. Considering its options, it concludes them to a single thought: Did I leave the oven on?

Meritursas decides he should probably return to the ship; however, the darkness within the bird's maw is so thick he can't see where it is anymore.  He keeps swimming, and swimming, and swimming...

And upon his carefree voyage, Meritursas bumps into a wall. It is the pelican's beak. The impact sends a thin blanket of ice crumbling down into the dark.

It takes Meritursas a few seconds to figure out what he ran into.  When he realizes what it is, he immediately starts ripping and tearing at it with all his strength.  He'd rip his way out of here if he had to.

The bone is too thick to break. The inner layer is also frozen. His frantic movements catch the attention of something, and it lurks underneath him as close as it can manage to get.

Meritursas comes face-to-face with another ungodly abomination. A product of shenanigans. The apposing tursai flinches at the sudden exposure of light from Meri's eyes. It shivers for a moment, before drawing its lips back to reveal its teeth and lashing out at him. The creature is slightly stunned and will react slowly.
