I often play Warly Wurt and Wormwood so I love cooking a lot of different crockpot recipes, that what makes the game fun for me and why I play this game in the first place, it's called DST after all, I'm the player who only in the based and only go out when I really need somethings cooking food, using clean sweeper on everything and just kinda be a maid, I wish there was more ingredient for me to cook with and more crockpot recipes to try out.

Also, variety is the spice of life, and maybe because I like roleplaying as Warly so I cook different food every day and 3 meals a day.

I'll make other recipes occasionally just because, but otherwise in vanilla...yea, Meatball spam in quick public servers, Pierogis/Bacon spam in more established worlds. Or Honey if I feel like existing in the same space as bees.

Or Jerky because procrastination simulator go brrr.

The very start of the game - meatballs and meaty stew are my only crockpot foods, pretty much nothing else. Health this early is never an issue and sanity gets restored just by prototyping.
I do farm a lot in the early-mid game and I also end up with various other ingredients, so I use several crock pot recipes. Overall it mostly depends on what I have.
Late-game I somewhat passively get enough honey, meat and monster meat so I primarily use honey ham and bacon and eggs, ice cream and taffy if I need sanity, I also mass produce dragonpies and vegetable stingers and keep them in my bundles (and also bundles full of jerky, bundles of frog legs from frog rains, bundles of stacks of bacon and eggs made from frog legs from frog rains, as well as bundles of eggs from frog legs from frog rains, there are way too many frog legs from frog rains, okay)

I play Wormwood, so half my in-game year is just pumpkin spam. When I do use crockpot, I usually only make a few recipes, mostly dragon pie, meaty stew, and potato purée, but I do make others too when I need to, or don't have the ingredients for the others. I find that a lot of crockpot dishes are either situational, need effort, or are just not worth it.

I mostly make Jelly Salad, Beefy Greens, and Honey Ham.

I'll make Creamy Potato Purée, Dragonpie, and Salsa Fresca when I can be bothered to farm. (Watermelon and pumpkins I eat raw.)

Other than that, I throw whatever into the crockpot and see if Craft Pot says it makes anything. Hunger is mostly filled with Juicy Berries, Honey, and Monster Meat (as Webber.) Edit: And seeds (including extra crop seeds.)

I have been indulging in Meaty Stew, it's convenient to make, fast cooking time, and even when it gets spoiled it still fills a ton of hunger. Easily the dish I cook the most out of any other recipes.

For healing, Dragonpie is my main healing dish, Beefy Greens and Surf'n Turf for the Ruins due to the abundance of easy Lichen and Eels.

For sanity, Jelly Salad for Wigfrid, and Vegetable Stinger for everyone else, with occasional Taffy.

I usually spam meaty stew and pierogies, with occasional meatballs and jellybeans. On a rare occasion I use birchnut mix during early game. Howewer, I do often play on worlds with irregular settings or with mods. On my world where I (hopefully) play until a powder cake spoils in a fridge with eternal winter, I mostly use nuggies and honey ham, since I couldn't find any seeds. I get honey from killing aggresive bees. For hunger I just eat monster meat. On public server I just use whatewer people decide we should eat)

It just depends on the situation.

I love cooking in video games, so I cook as many different things as I can with whatever ingredients I have available. I just think it's fun. And, since I also enjoy farming, I usually have so much food after a while that there's no reason for me to make the most cost efficient recipes to try to maximize the amount of hunger I get from my ingredients. I just make whatever I haven't made lately from what I have. I don't even play as Warly--I play as Wilson because he's such an endearing crazy-haired science guy--I just like cooking all kinds of dishes. ^o^;>

When i play alone it's just honey ham every day. And jerky.

With friends however I play as Warly, and when they go out they bring all sorts of weird stuff to the fridge, so I have a little fun and make butter muffins, jam, lots of meaty stew (one of my friends plays Wortox), bacon and eggs, pierogi, beefy greens, jelly salad, froggle bunwich, the froggle bunwich but with figs, figatoni, honey nuggets, honey ham, chilli, and meatballs when i have to.

Whenever I decide to set up farms for the season I also cook with the veggies from the combos for my spices, so there's some bone bullion, dragonpie, creamy potato puree, spiraled tubers, stuff like that.

And of course glowberry mousse when we're in the caves.

When playing budding chef, I'm always cycling food recipes and exclusively using crockpot dishes(as that's my restrictions)

Otherwise if I'm not playing budding chef(or Warly) then I only really use a specific set of foods.

I always fall back on meatballs, but I will make honey ham, honey nuggets, pierogi, fishsticks, froggle bunwiches, dragonpies (when I have a dragonfruit available), etc. and the occasional spicy chili, butter muffin, fish taco, stuffed eggplant, or bacon and eggs.  Taffy when I need sanity in a hurry.  Kabobs when nothin' else.  And of course, everyone knows ratatouille and fistful of jam.

I also do a lot of exploring/camping away from base, so a lot of just campfire-roasted single ingredients, too.  Especially cooked cactus and roasted juicy berries, which are really good for hunger.  I'll occasionally whack the mole that keeps coming right up to my campfire and have a tasty morsel. : P

Oh, and jerky.  Lotsa jerky. If you live in an area with a lot of rabbits/frogs (which I usually do) and make a bunch of racks, after a while you get a steady supply going and it's nice to have something quick 'n' easy that travels well, AND helps health and sanity as well as hunger.

I put that I know less than ten recipes, but now I see that isn't true.  However, I don't think I regularly USE more than ten recipes. Some of them I only have the ingredients for rarely, so...

...Notorious

as wurt i will mostly live off of honey and crops and as any other character i will make honey hams and meaty stew. i will never find myself making meatballs because it isn't that good of a recipe and a lot of the time you don't make even

Honey or Crops. Sometimes in Spring I'll eat Honey Hams because it's Moose/Goose hunting season and I have no other use for the meat. If I somehow decide to kill Bee Queen or I get Royal Jelly from Klaus drops then I can also eat Jellybeans sometimes.

Frog sandwiches or anything seafood related is my go to for most unless wurt. And bananas are good and muffins!. I like to make a variety of foods either just for extra challenge or fun. Using 1 monster meat and 3 ice for meatballs just isn't my thing, kinda boring but its there if people want no judge!

I don't ever make meatballs after I get a good farm and other food sources going, unless I mess up the recipe for Guacomole by putting a piece of fruit in it xD

In general, the 75 hunger meals are the way to go: Beefy Greens, Honey Ham, Bacon and Eggs, Dragonpie, Barnacle Lunguine, Turkey Dinner, Stuffed Fisheads... And when you get the above average trees going, figatoni is the ultimate food.

Crops are most of the time great by themselves but Spiralled Potato Tubers, Vegetable Stingers, Potato Puree, and Salsa Fresca are particularly great recipes.
