I feel that meaty stew is a very useless dish in many ways. It's one of those dishes I don't really enjoy... Here's why

  • Requires big meat!
  • Doesn't really help with hunger issues

Another reason on why this dish is useless is because you could use the same amount of meat you use in the meaty stew for 4 meatballs, which gives more hunger than 1 meaty stew (250 hunger for all 4 meatballs), you also won't have to waste them all at once! And making meatballs doesn't require big meat like meaty stew does. i'd rather waste my meat on ham bats (yes even in late-game!)

So really, meaty stew isn't all that great imo, at least make it to where it doesn't require big meat like it does now...

Thanks for putting your time into reading this post :D

Look, i don't want to sound mean but this is a big bruh moment. @Frashaw27 already beated me, you can watch jazzy's video but yeahh, you need more practise in the game. Meaty stew is a great dish.

Bruh moment huh? Well that's just my opinion that it's useless... we all have our own

Btw you spelled practice wrong and beated isn't a word

actual argument: big meat isnt that hard to farm. 1 big meat can be leafy meat, which can be farmed with 0 effort thanks to lureplants. monster meat can be the 2nd big meat, and all you need to do for that is kill some spiders, some hounds, or if you've set one up, use a varg farm and get tons of monster meat. the last big meat can be either 2 small meat or 1 normal meat, and if you have a pig or bunny farm, you can get that pretty easily.

meaty stew is also ridiculously efficient in terms of turning food into hunger. even if you put 3 big meat and a juicy berry in, you'd still be getting around 50 extra hunger for free.the only and i mean only way to make meaty stew be less efficient than its ingredients is to use 2 koala trunks.

meaty stew is also an amazing meal for warly since you can just eat 2 when starving and be fine in terms of hunger for ~2 days.

I'm still using meatballs

It is one of the best dishes in the game for how effectively it increases the hunger fulfilment of its individual ingredients. For most characters, it will instantly get you from starvation to full hunger. In niche cases such as when the character can't eat meat or has a lower max hunger than 150, it's not ideal but in all other cases it works like a charm as the strongest hunger recipe in the game. Most of the time, getting the fillers for meatballs will take more effort than getting the meat. And meatballs is a very mediocre recipe that usually sacrifices a lot of the potential of its individual ingredients.

And it does not require big meat, where did you get that idea from? All it takes is 3 points of meat. If you are too insistent in holding on to your large meat for some reason, you might be thrilled to learn that you can make meaty stew without ever accepting large meats in your kitchen. Next time try Monster meat + Leafy meat + 2 frog legs. Or 2 morsels, 1 large fish and 1 monster meat.

Ever since I know how to find big meats, I rarely ever use Meatballs. Meaty Stew is just more convenient.

I am okay with you use 4 Meatballs instead of Meaty Stew, after all it's not that hard to find 12 fillers, but just because of that you say Meaty Stew is useless is WRONG.

P/s: Funny how people still think Meatballs is good when there are way better crockpot recipes that only requires you to put it a bit more effort to make them.

Once a Woodie main asked me to test out the best food for him because he was having troubles getting his hunger back up quickly. I then went researching, spent an entire afternoon calculating the values of food items and seeing how easy it was to obtain said food item. After that, I determined that Honey Nuggets, Meaty Stew, and Bacon and Eggs (Honey Ham is not included here because of Honey Nuggets and it's better used as a health food item) are the top 3 best food items for a Woodie main to consume just after a transformation. He told me he was very satisfied with my results.

Would you like to spend an afternoon into research about how Meaty Stew is a bad food item to prove me wrong?

I hate meaty stew too, but that's only because I hate all crockpot dishes equally.

Sincerely,

A wormwood main.

Ps. Raw foods for the win.

Edit: Jelly beans are the exception.

As a fellow Wormwood main, I completely agree. Screw your crockpots! Who needs 'em? (Except Jellybeans, we all love Jellybeans)

When I played Wortox, all I ate was Meaty Stew instead of souls. I got my belly full and souls for healing and soul hopping lol.

I've been playing Wolfgang as of late as well. 2 Meaty Stew makes Wolfgang go from wimpy to mighty; it's quite nice :>

Meaty Stew only needs three meat, you can put a filler item in the fourth slot.

I usually do meat + monster meat + 2 morsel, drumstick or frog leg early, when I have alot more meat available I do 2 meat 1 monster meat 1 filler, regardless it's a pretty nice dish overall.
