the only one i can find is edgy rick which would obviously have a few flaws

Yes, Webber. 

I love how almost every tier list that I see here on the steam forums are missing a character. As if the creator didn't know the game well enough or didn't put much effort making the list.

Alright, take it back. Webber is the go-to for noobs, but he's also a really fun character, lore and gameplay wise. And spider civil wars are the greatest. Until they crash my crappy computer.

Comparing their pros and cons(which neither of them have), Winona is better than Wilson. All their stats are the same but she also has tape (which is fairly useless, I admit, but it's there) and her ability to craft items quickly can be handy for megabase building.

Sure, I got no problem with that, everyone makes mistakes when tired. It's just that I cannot take it seriously (how much work, research and thought was put into it?) and if there is such a basic mistake, it raises the question what other mistakes might have been made during creating the list (or what else you forgot to consider).

i considered how useful they where to the team and thats basically it 

honsetly my favorite charcters are wes wendy willow and wigfrid so i didnt really put any bias into this

i might make one with actually research someday

I only really play wigfrid for the personality but shes still very useful

These two do pretty much the exact same thing... and yet somehow Winona is several ranks behind. I'm curious as to the reason behind this more then anything. It seems more like this was based off of a bias instead of their actual perks.

It's not like Wilson's beard is much better. And that's only useful during a single season. At least Winona's crafting speed is useful during any time of the year. I just thought it was odd that they were ranked so far apart when both of them have negligible perks, no downsides, and balanced stats. They're essentially the same character.

I mean, to be on-topic, I'd tier them as:

 

SS - Wickerbottom

S - Wolfgang, WX-78 (SS Tier for both if Wickerbottom is in team comp)

A - Wigifrid, Maxwell

B - Webber

C - Woodie, Wendy

D - Winona

F - Wilson, Willow

Not Applicable - Wes

This list is based solely on what utility their specific powers bring to the table.  Wes is meant to be a hard-mode character, so I can't really rate him here, but utility-wise he'd be lower than F - tier.

First of all I think this thread is not going to go anywhere.

Second, a personal question regarding how everyone ranks wendy being among the worst, why? I'm not a Wendy main yet Iknow wendy is actually a pretty decent character, perhaps not to be among the best, but definately not closer to the worst. She's a much better option over webber, like maxwell is a better woodie.

1. She can craft the most efficient sanity station
2. She can farm spiders basically with nothing but abigail, perhaps not as efficiently as webber but still better than any other char can without making some special contraption. Great for early game food and silk source.
3. She has little to fear in the ruins as abigail can make short work of the shadow monkeys train.
4. With enough abigail flowers she can greatly help with bee queen's grumble bees, or even solo bee queen slightly easier than other characters.
5. Can clear killer bee biome early on and effortless, supplying an early chance to make a ton of bee boxes
6. Does not suffer the hate penalty webber does, allowing her to employ bunnymen in any of the dozens of uses they have for fights.

Although I like webber more as a character, after playing a lot with both I have to admit that if you want to be the spider farmer of the group its still better to pick wendy, since webber can only do "that" whereas wendy can do a lot more.

The thing is, even the "high tier" characters have disadvantages that sometimes can't be circumvented easily. Wigfrid doesn't excel at normal nightmare fuel farming because of the tediousness associated with keeping her at low sanity. In this case Wes' so-called utility would provide means for shadow creatures to appear, which Wigfried cannot do easily. Wes > Wigfrid...??

All of the characters have their own specific flavour and perks and cons to go along with them. You can solo Toadstool with every one of them and most of them are liked by the majority of players, so Klei must have done something right.

Indeed. People tend to forget is that when stacking a low dps aoe attacks it will soon outperform any other means of killing. Imagine a bunch of Abigails tearing through spider/splumonkey/bee hordes. Nobody will ever try this though because they see a single Abigail and consider her weak and don't realize the synergy of stacking.
