It's just for fun man chill out and dress like a furry yeah that one costume that was only dropped on halloween for some people also people who dress up in animal costumes aren't necessarily furies Also pets are just shells man most don't like them they do nothing but their nice to look at. Kiel does have a deadline with these updates so i'm not pleased that updates sometimes come out looking half-baked but i'm not necessarily angry either. It's a price I got to pay to be in beta I wouldn't be shocked if in the final release they chuck some of the concepts but you need to chill. As someone who is mostly uninterested in skins and finds pets to be pointless, I don't see how the addition of this content makes the game any worse. I have a long list of criticisms about klei's approach to fixing and balancing DST but I don't see how some new free content takes away from the game. And yeah, it's frustrating that there are still issues with the game that have existed for a while but I don't think going into a thread and knocking on someones idea by telling them "you guys are killing the game with these threads" is the best use of that frustration. On the topic of hats for pets, I still haven't found my rocky den, so I can't comment on that one. I've heard so many people avoiding servers because of furry and anime type characters that don't fit the game style at all being present. I'm really, really starting to think that some bit of people on this forum don't critically try to assess the content that is being given out for the purpose of better game for its purpose and its style. I hear people tell me "well, at least be happy that we get content at all! They're doing this for free!" for one, they aren't really, at least in terms of skins as a portion of the sold item funds go to Klei themselves and secondly, reiterating my point, if it doesn't fit with the game's purpose and style, it still doesn't justify it. I can understand things like the Bee Queen and Toadstool, with their spawn mechanics for instance being rushed as it's beta and they can be changed even after the ANR is finished anyway, but something like the skins that aren't loyal or timeless... they're there forever, you can't reverse it and you'll have furry-dressed players, full of pets that serve no real game-play purpose (mind you, a lot of us were expecting changes to the pets with the recent update and as far as I'm aware, we got jack all in terms of that), who too have skins that look like they're from an entirely different game. @CaptainFun the above might explain some things to you as well. Try using the mouse wheel or press caps lock when near a rock den. You should be able to access the pet tab that way, even if it's covered. I find that what they do is perfect because in games like Do not starve Together we should not send everything into repetitive survival. It's small additions like critters & fences that make the games not boring. I had to go through _five_ biomes or so to get there, skirting dangers along the way such as a massive spider-forest, hound mounds, and _the Dragonfly herself_ to reach the bloody thing, and the trip as a whole took SO long it changed seasons by the time I started back home. My kittykit's first meal was roast cactus--garnished with snow. : P I ran out of food a while ago, and ended up wandering around the campground looking for cactus by lighter-light. In the dark. And the cold. Easy to _make_? Depends on the kind--nobody will argue that broodlings take a fair bit more effort. I would like to put a top hat on my vargling, or any pet for that matter. But in my opinion, it should stay at that. Making the pets wear full costumes is a bit cruel to me. Maybe the hats could provide a small buff when worn by a pet? Like when wearing a top hat, it could give a small sanity bonus. Not sure what an eyebrella would do...
