Wave after Wave

The Eldersome doesn't understand what Dragon said, but it's offended anyway.  It pulls back from the lizard's attack, using its flexibility to dodge her before lunging in for an attack of its own.

In the meantime, Meri tries to keep the boat afloat, struggling to keep it above the water as more and more of it sinks under.  Waves pound him and the wreck as the storm continues to pick up.  Despite his best efforts, the vessel continues to sink further underwater; the side struck by the monster is already practically underwater.  The boat is almost at a 45-degree angle.

Even more meanwhile, Niella is wrestling with an Eldersome that's almost as big as her tongue is.  This stupid freaking glowy worm thing is keeping her from helping her friends!

Noctimus, who had fused back together to allow more time for a possible rescue, was screaming and whining in pain as the water slowly melted him. He tried splashing around, but he wasn't very experienced with swimming. He started to sink into the watery acid.

"NOCTIMUS!" Kate heard the pup's pained squeals and started looking around frantically for him, but at this distance with her eyesight she couldn't make out him, crab, or the tiny light preservers.

Dragon used the high winds to dart away from the bite quickly before coming back at another eye.

Noctimus slipped and slid around the life preserver, but was able to crawl onto it. The cold was unbareable though, and his little stubby legs were too shaky to hang on for longer than ten seconds. Help would have to arrive soon, for the waters are already turning a murky black, and Noctimus is slowly shirking smaller and smaller by the minute, as he tries to keep himself on the preserver.

"Whoa!" Otto said when Viridis bumped into Malii. Otto climbed up Malii's arm as she started saving whoever she could from the waters below.

Otto was now on Malii's head and had no idea what to do. There was shadow pupper crying from the waters, Nadas trying to safe Syndir, Cinis saving Kate, Dragon and a few others fighting with the pyrosomes and everyone else pretty much seeking refuge in Malii's claws.

"We gotta... do something!!" Otto shouted. The tone in his voice shrieked uncertainty.

"Quickly, take my hand!"

(11 hours later.)

Syndir didn't recognize Nadas. This was a serious case of stranger danger.

Also real danger, and real death. That was a thing too.

He took their hand.

"What..?" Cinis reacted at Kate's yelping. He scanned the area until he saw the shadow puppy dying on a life preserver. He shook his head disapprovingly and flew over to him, grabbed the mini raft-lifepreserver with Nocti and crab on it and put it all on his palm next to Kate.

He also gave Dragon a "lol..." face after hearing what she said.

Viridis opened her eyes back up and looked around. She wasn't drowning! And she was with Malii and some others of the crew. "Mallii!!" She said cheerfully and gave her a hug.

The Eldersome screams in rage as Dragon attacks its other eye, flailing wildly at her with its claws until a blow finally collects.  It punches her straight into the water, practically knocking her senseless.  It raises its claws and body high into the air, before diving down and causing a massive explosion of waves which catches the ship and hapless crew.  The water lifts them up and away as it pushes them straight towards the barren, black island.

Crunch.

~ ~ ~

The crew wakes up scattered around the shattered remains of the vessel, soaking wet and cold.  It's still dark, and the storm still rages; but they seem to be in the eye of the hurricane now.  A massive, cylindrical wall of clouds circles overhead, the occasional bolt of lightning crackling along the ring.

The water in the center of the island-arena glows a vibrant blue.  Thousands of tiny, bioluminescent creatures flit around the surface of the water.  It is strangely calm.

The room Silven was in was shaking uncontrollably and the piles that were neatly stacked began to topple over. "Markless even more giant tursai, is it usual for Items to become unstable and-" He yipped as some items nearly crushed him.

Angelle was pulled onto Crab's boat, she licked him once to say thanks.

Famen tore off his hoodie (fdjsahlfash he has a hoodie now I changed his appearance jhfdjsaklfha) and wrapped it around Trevor's wounds to stop the bleeding, or at least slow it down.

Niella swims up behind the group, lowering her head down to the sand and carefully spitting out Silven.  It's about time he stopped shenanagins-ing anyways.  "We're here!  This is the Root."

"You guys should probably hide or something.  I got this."  She says, stretching out her tongue and crawling across the island.  She stops when she reaches the empty middle part of the ring.

The last thing Nadas remembers is taking the hand of the one that looked like a shaman when the sea creature smashed the dragon down to the sea, and then, suddenly, the ship was destroyed.

Luckily, they ended up beaching on the nearby island, which was a relief. Just after she managed to get onto a boat filled with sentient people, the last thing she wanted was to once again get lost in the seas. Nadas didn't see anyone right next to her as soon as she recovered her senses so she decided to find the closest source of light, which was the center of the island. After watching the dragoness being hit that way though, she was worried sick about her. Without mentioning the funny, friendly sharx that valiantly but blindly attempted to attack the giant sea creature. And the little girl concerned Nadas, was she okay? Many questions that needed to be answered

Dragon laid on her side in the sand, eyes closed and breathing heavily. A long, deep slash went from just behind her shoulder to down her underbelly. So far she hadn't made any attempts to move.

Kate was unsure of what had happened when she woke up on the sand, but she had washed up very close to Noctimus and his sounds of pain took her attention. She brought him close in her arms and tried to comfort him.

Syndir turned his head skyward, and after a moments pause he commented,

"Well at least things can't get any worse!"

(*Gets shocked by lightning as things get inevitably worse*)

He looks around as the others started to wake up. Some seemed ok while others were a little worse for wear. Something washed up next to Otto, it was the pirate hat he was gonna give to Cinis. It must have been lost when he was knocked out (by somethin, idrk).

"I know I also ready said this but..." he picked it up "You are one lucky hat"

He attempts to stand up but the chaos left him shaken and wobbly. "Wh-where's the... fire dragon?"

Trevor was currently in shock and couldn't really do anything. The hoodie helped him from bleeding everywhere though. Yay!

---

Noctimus hadn't been submerged in that much water before, and the after effects were the stinging you would experience after a bad sunburn, or being torched by a flamethrower. He groaned, wheeped, and howled out,

Crab and Angelle's tiny raft bumped against the shore. Crab smashed a bottle against his boat and scuttled off.

Gyx washed onto shore, riding his burnt corpse like a plank. He dragged it onto land and set it down, looking at his nonexistent watch. This was the longest he's ever seen this take.
