I always thought about the addition of a boss lureplant that would generate somewhere on the map that when defeated would drop a seed of a "friendly" carnivorous plant to plant in our plantations and make a new type of defense against hounds or anything else

something like that

sorry for my bad english :(

Ive wanted a seasons refresh to focus on nature and plant growth for spring, so if you dont properly maintain your plants they can continue to grow out of control until they become a threat. So for example, youd have your berry bushes and theyd grow vines during spring and youd use clippers to maintain them and if you dont they can become hostile and grow into a "vinecone":

a concept i did from a while ago:

These would be more like mini bosses though. I also think a full fledged plant boss would be cool as well

If my attempts to turn it into my minion are more successful than WX-78's attempts to turn Celestial Champion into their minion, then I'm completely onboard.

Otherwise, I'm still onboard because I wanna kill delinquent plants that do not surrender to my will.

mushrooms are closer to animals than to plants

btw, this was found in the new home files. Not a boss but would be cool to have more plant based mobs

no, check the spoiler

I don’t think we need a “Boss” I would love to have some plant based mobs in general so Wormwoods “Plants are nice to him” perk actually has more use.

For example, what if Bramble vines blocked entrances into ruins that require the hatchet to hack down (which causes those vines to put up a fight and attack much like fighting the large Tentacles down in caves) But for WORMWOOD instead of needing to hatchet the path clear the vines just retracted letting him through?

I ask these kind of questions because maybe not NOW but Someday Klei is going to sit in their office and ask each other “Okay where do we take the future of the Dont Starve Franchise?”

“What’s our Foundation for a Dont Starve 2?”

And they should START by Realizing they have this huge cast of unique playable characters that can be made even further unique throughout the game in various areas beyond just a handful of abilities and then still playing largely the same.

A “Plant Boss” is just that- a “Boss” something you’ll likely fight only a few times then forget exists, but if we had that dense jungle forest from hamlet full of plant-like mobs… well now: that’s a different story.

I know this will make angry a lot of people, but whenever you like it or not: Treeguards, Spider Queens and Lord of the Fruit Flies are boss fights and they're considered it by the game.

They're relics of a long past were everything was different (apart the lord) and the progression of the game was different. Also it's nice to have easy dumb boss fights for new players in particular, like Treeguards being the first boss fight you encounter and they do a good job on teaching kiting to them.

In my opinion, we can use the drops to distinguish the kind. If a creature is a BOSS, the drops should include a sketch. Then, if the drops include "meat", it should be a kind of animal, just like the Toadstool. I think the drops of a plant BOSS should include living logs, leafy meat, a sketch, and something special. Btw I think the Lord of the fruit flies belongs to animals, though the drops is leafy meat...

ooooor we can use if the mob triggers boss music, is stronger than regular mobs, is huge and also has the epic tag in their code (for that spider queen is considere a boss but vargs arent). Until few months ago only the 4 RoG bosses had sketches, also shadow bosses dont drop sketches when killed (no, the chess statues arent their boss sketch)

so lord of the fruit flies, treeguards, spider queens, ag and company are bosses. There are raid bosses and regular bosses

idk why a mob needs 20k hp to be considere a boss...

Or go step further since they already spawn Gobblers i believe a giant turkey mini boss spawning from one of these would be a nice surprise to unsuspecting players.

It would be like DST version of the Wattle Gobbler from Borderlands 2.

Let's combine these three.
