Overall more yes than no. Boats are still bad, ocean is still barren and there were only two character reworks this year... But RWYS alone makes up for that, plus the quality of life updates, they really improved the game significantly.

yes i do agree that 2020 being over is very POGGGGGGG

yeah DST is amazing of course its not perfect they can still do better but 2020 was a really good year for DST 9/10

heres to a BETTER year

POGCHAMPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With the single exception to Wigfrids rework (which plain and simply failed to live up to my expectations following the great content Wendy, Willow and Woodies updates got) I have loved absolutely every thing Klei has put out: All the Return of Them updates, all the other reworks, and extra especially random button for seasons & season lengths now from the Quality of Life updates that has increased my enjoyment of the game by a lot. The RWYS update is also a pleasant improvement to an otherwise boring part of the game: Planting Seeds and growing crops.:wilson_love:

There is still no company like DS.
There are no new events.
There is no adequate PvP (at least which team will collect more resources).
No high difficulty mode.

New characters and "Reap What You Sow" update that saved this year.

Definitely "successful" ...

man i seem to sense sarcasm here

its like you're trying to say something but i can't tell because of how great DST is

(also events aren't profitable for klei and they end up losing money so of course it makes sense they didn't add new events)

and whats wrong with RoT updates?i find them a lot of fun

as for the PvP part DST is not a PvP game (oh my god who would have guessed)PvP was just a fun little addition to the game

But people asked Klei not to change Wigfrid too much,

and then players complained about that.

Just goes to show how flawed human psychology is, sometimes.

I don't think too many people complained about that though. I only found it a small miniority that complained about Wigfrids rework not being bigger, atleast two people come to mind that I remember complaining about that.

I think most people enjoyed Wigfrids rework and its small amount of content, since she really didnt need that much more.

I probably should've been more specific, but thank you for clarifying.

I’m hating the ocean more and more, and a lot of the content is too late game, so I voted no.

i like it since noobs already feel overwhelmed by all the stuff that they need to learn and long term worlds are repetitive

also, you can enjoy fishing, farming and exploring the moon island and the grotto in the 1st season

I just want them to actually live up to this original promise circled in red here: Game Changing in many ways also means that I expect WES, WOLFGANG and WILSON to actually gain new abilities and not play roughly the same as they do now...

and for Me Wigfrids rework felt like more of the same things she was already able to do, she didn’t for example get a scroll that bestows her with the Winged boots of Achilles for faster movement speed for a short duration of time, she didn’t get a cool Wheeler style dodge or the power to charge through a group of enemies head & battle spear first- Her new abilities were plan and simply stats increase/decreasing song scrolls.

Not that any of that is BAD mind you, but following the excellent & well received updates of Wendy, Willow and Woodie: Surely you can understand why those of us complaining about her rework felt that it fell just short of our expectations.

In my opinion it felt like Wigfrids rework was rushed perhaps to get it out of the way and focus on a larger update, or to meet a deadline, Covid made it harder or something: It’s obvious when you look at her Idle animation compared to Wendy, Willow and Woodies- Who each have a unique idol that interacts with another object they pull out and interact with- For Wendy she pulls out a flower plucking its petals, for Woodie he pats his axe Lucy, and for Willow she will Snuggle up to Either Bernie OR Ashley if you have the skin unlocked. Wigfrid just bows over, she doesn’t hold her Battle Helm in her hand as she does it, tiny petals don’t fall at her feet like people proud of her performance or a Golden beam of light where the gods shine pride down upon the mighty warrior, she just bows over & that’s that.

But: Like I said, Every other content update they’ve put out I have thoroughly enjoyed, and I truly admire their hard work & dedication to providing us gamers & fans with great updates even amidst Covid-19 concerns & delays.

2020 has been a hell of a year for all of us, but in just a few hours it will be over- (it’s only 5pm here..) Anyway here’s to hoping everyone has a happy, healthy, and much better New Year in 2021!

All it shows is that the DST community is made up of more than a singular person. It's not generically "people" who complained about these things, it's two different groups of people that had different opinions.

Yes, I know that. But it still confuses me.

Still have a few hours left of one of the most wack years of my life in my time zone, but yes, it's been great! Can't judge too well on the whole year since I only started playing DST around when Walter was added, but for the time I've been here the updates have been awesome. Hoping that 2021 will be even better!
