Wendy allows you to not worry about any monsters in the ruins, weevoles and rabids. The only thing she needs help with are late game bats and bosses. Spoiler You can get permanent overcharge by going near the thunder birds and stacking up some charges. This allows you to gain an insane boost of movement speed, permanent light (awesome for night time adventures and ruin exploration, I never even bought a night hat of any sort), with the disadvantage that this consumes Sanity. The way I deal with this is with lotus plants (I collect all, cook them, go stack some lighting shots, and then consume them to restore my sanity to max). The sanity loss can also be abused, as you can instantly lower it to 0 to fight some night shadows, which becomes really easy due to your increased movement speed and ability to see during night time. Oh and the lighting shots also happen to restore you to full HP! Because you actually purchase gears for 10 oincs only, you can max out your character pretty fast (400 max hp lol) and keep a couple on you to use as emergency health/sanity boosts. It does require you to find the 2nd island first, which means for the first days of the game you'll have pretty low stats. Finally, he loses HP when wet. However, all you need is to equip a football helmet + umbrella and this will negate wetness from rain 100%. The football helmet you can easily make with the armies of bats that spawn, and the umbrella you can just purchase from the General Tool's shop. Oh and spoiled food is just as good, yet another little perk for our wonder boy! He also doesn't get poisoned, which means you can abuse the tubers at all seasons as an easy source of hunger and hp. Atm he does get the poison animation which means you lose sanity over time (but no hp). Not sure if this is intentional or simply a bug. Darts from ruins hurt a lot and usually 1 shot you without armor. With Meat effigy his life total drop to 87 and thats awesome haha. Sometimes i run double revive for 53health total and its crazy haha. spacewlkr Posted December 16, 2018 Share Posted December 16, 2018 ive been playing as Warly pretty much exclusively! theres a lot of good food sources in the game as well as buyable meals, and his Chef's Pouch and Portable Crock Pot are great for going into ruins and exploring in general, as i usually set my main camp up in Pig City and plant some firepits down around ruin entrances. i havent really ran into a lot of issue with him whatsoever, since food is just not as much of an issue for me in this game. i usually play as Wendy or Wigfrid, but the former kind of turned me off playing as her when she angered jungle mobs constantly, forcing me to pick up her flower in the middle of a Spider Monkey's treebnest or Snaptooth colony, while the latter just isnt that great in Hamlet. Fiztahat Posted December 17, 2018 Share Posted December 17, 2018 I usually love to play Willow in dst, and then i pick her, but danngg, i didn't know she will light a fire when sanity is low, because i don't remember she will light a fire in DS, and i did'nt read her perks. thought it will be the same as DST, my house got burn because of her xD. well now play as Wilba or Warbucks. wilba because she is a pig, can eat monster meat and pig will give some raw material and gurad will not attack if i pick something in pig farm. warbuck easy to manage sanity, if i want low sanity, just eat non crockpot food, and oinc give him sanity boost.
