Wiffleball blinked a few times. Had Syndir always been there? But...he was just...and...

No, he couldn't have imagined it all. He'd felt it! The shattered banister was proof of that! He was perfectly sane! One-hundred-percent! There was no way-

His train of thought was suddenly and abruptly cut short when, dropping from the heavens above, a rather well-cooked fish smacked into his head and knocked him to the floor. It then bounced halfway across the deck, leaving several greasy splotches on the deck's surface before finally sliding to a stop right in front of Kate.

(Wiffleball's thoughts have gotten interrupted a lot lately, haven't they?)

Otto continued to scratch the Swimming Horror's underbelly (it wasn't very effective). Then Otto resurfaced for some air. This isn't working, he thought. Then the Swimming Horror turning around and lunged at him. Otto just barely dodged. "I can't get any leverage in the water" he said to himself. Then he saw some debris that came from the pelican's mouth. Otto swam to a board and climbed on. Then he broke of a sharp piece to combat the creature. The Swimming Horror advanced. Otto managed to slash him on the neck. Then he took another swing, causing the creature to disappear for a brief moment. Otto looked around. "Show yourself coward!" The creature emerged from the water, charging at him from behind. Otto only got a second to react. He jumped to avoid the charging beast but his board was broken on impact and Otto landed in the water once more.

When Cinis peeked in Gyx's book, all he could see was birds. Lotsa birds. He looked in the sky and saw a flock of birds passing by. "Hold that thought, summoner." He said and jumped in the sky, fire filling his wings. He took a deep breath and spew huge flames in the air, resulting in cooked birds falling from the sky onto the boat and some in the water. Cinis managed to grab a few himself and chomped down on them, returning to his spot on the boat after.

Viridis looked at Wallan's eye again. "And... what kind of eye do you... have there?" She asked while pointing at it with her claw.

Then she noticed free meat falling from the sky. She gasped, grabbed a close by piece and started violently ripping it apart with her mouth.

(guys eat something else lmao get creative)

(Otto is currently busy atm :p but with this, I have a couple new ideas).

Otto discarded his weapon and swam back to the surface. The Swimming Horror was right next to him. He lunged at him. When Otto was sure this would be it, something fell onto (more like through) the shadow beast, causing it to disappear. Otto quickly retrieved the object that spared him. A roast chicken? Or bird of some kind? He looked up and saw a couple falling from the sky, Cinis following. Heh, maybe I should've gotten that dragon to roast birds instead of going fishing myself, he thought. He climbed onto some debris and took a bite of the roasted bird. "Mmm, tastes like chicken" Then the Swimming Horror reappeared. "You just don't give up, do you?" Otto raised his weapon... with was a drumstick. (Yeah totally dude, look at that ham bat :p ). Otto hit him a couple times. The shadow teleported. Otto turned, dodged his attack then finished him off. "Nothing kills an enemy faster than meat! I should remember that one" he said to himself, sitting down and taking another bite of his drumstick.

Wiffleball looked up from the ground, still kind of dizzy from the fish's impact. Well, come to think of it, at least the fish had a reason to fall. It was explainable, therefore, he was sane. Maybe nobody would believe him, but it happened! It was launched upwards with the earlier explosion! He was still sane! Still sane! Wait...

why was cooked meat falling from the sky

He put his head back down. Nope, he was definitely insane. The only other rational explanation was that he'd somehow angered some eldritch god of fried chicken, and now it was punishing him for his crimes. Overwhelmed, he curled into a ball on the deck, silently praying that the fried chicken god would just take him now and get it over with.

Luckily for Wiffle, the fried chicken god is infinitely merciful.  The blasphemous plush is spared for now, but his disloyalty will not be forgotten....nor forgiven.

Fried chicken stops falling from the sky.

Meritursas is left floating in the water, unsure of how to get back on the boat.

Jaw wanders around the boat. Eventually he smells fish Syndir caught, sits down and starts eating

(I'm not sure whether you mean the fish Trevor caught or the fish Syndir cooked, so since Jaw started puking I'm going to assume you meant Trevor. Please correct me if I'm wrong.)

Kate flinched slightly as greasy splat sounded from in front of her, immediately followed by an absolutely delicious smell. She looked up with wide eyes to find a perfectly cooked fish had appeared in front of her, and she scooped it up and started chowing down before her mind could even think to question it.

Suddenly, Kate felt a blast of hot air, and made the mistake of looking up just in time to see the red dragon, wings already aflame, fill the sky above with roaring fire. Cowering with hands gripping her head, she screamed in terror. Flames of her own started to cover her body. Suppressed memories began welling up in her mind, clouding her vision. She kept screaming.

Oh. Kate was screaming again. Wiffleball held his ears - he was trying to grovel to the fried chicken god, couldn't she please quiet down a bit?

...

OhmygodKatewasonfire. Wiffleball's head snapped upwards, and he quickly scrambled to his feet. He fell over once, twice - he was too dizzy to keep his balance. Undaunted, he began staggering across the deck in short bursts, running forwards a few feet at a time before falling to the side again. By the time he'd reached Kate, the world spun so much that he was amazed he hadn't slid into the ocean yet.

Hearing her screams close-up, though, it suddenly came to him that he hadn't actually thought up any plan whatsoever to help - and now that he was this close to her, he was most likely going to be burned alive no matter what he tried. Thus, he did the only thing he could think of to do at that moment: he fell against Kate's body and lay there. Despite the spreading flames, he was there for her.

One of the falling objects from the sky hit Silven in the head and then he caught it. First he held it in one hand as he rubbed his head with the other and most likely lost a few memories with it. Then he looked at the object in interest, this seemed to be edible... Or just smelled good and wasn't' edible. So he just took some off and ate it. Now to see if it was poisoned or not.

Wallan rips off a part of his sleeve and puts it on Noctimus' cut to try to stop the bleeding. He tries to comfort Noctimus by petting him with his normal hand. "Is anyone here a doctor?!" "This dog thing needs help!" he yells.

Dragon turned her head towards the source of the screaming. Oh dear. The humans girl was on fire again. No one looked to be doing anything about it, so it seemed it was up to her once again to put it out. She maneuvered her ice platform over to that side of the boat, took a couple gulps of water, adjusted the hose nozzle setting and shot out a gentle-ish stream of water until the flames were put out. You're welcome.

Something very peculiar had been happening to Kade. As memories bubbled up in Kate's mind, flashing before her eyes in a jumbled, broken mess, the things she saw were reflected in him. His body stood there, motionless, as his silhouette flashing with images of fire. Each one flashed by in a near instant, but if anyone was paying attention, they could catch glimpses of the inside of a normal home in the flames. A bed here, a door frame there, part of a cabinet by the side. None of the memories seemed to come in any sensible order. At one point it lingered slightly on the sight of a reaching hand and screaming face, both burned so much as to be nearly unrecognizable. Kate gripped her head tighter, nails digging into her scalp, as the torrent of fragments kept coming.

Then she was shocked back to the present by a sudden drenching of cold water. Kade retook his human form in an instant, and kneeled down in front of his sister, dragging her into an imbrace in an attempt to comfort. "Kate, it's okay. Calm down. You're okay. The fire is gone now. It's alright..." Kate stared forward with wide eyes and contracted pupils. She shivered violently and breathed in small gasps.

Otto looked at Meri who was trying to figure out how to get back on the boat. "Yo Meri!" he called out. He held up the chicken "Want some?" Then he heard screaming. "What the hell?" it was coming from the boat. Otto stood up "Someone's in trouble! Probably another one of those shadows." He grabbed a piece of drift wood and paddled towards the boat. But how was he gonna scale the the side of the ship?

(To be fair the last time he climbed up the side, it was kinda unrealistic so I'll wait for a good opportunity or offered help)
