RWYS wasnt only farming overhaul which added a ton of new and really fun content but also Wormwood’s ‘refresh’, one of the absolute best to date. I love beef domestication, one of my top fav activities/mechanics in DST even before YoTB. YoTB just made it better and more fun. Mike23Ua Posted April 7, 2022 Share Posted April 7, 2022 This is the easiest answer: Return of Them: Turn of Tides, it added so so much new content to a game that has been boring for years.. Things Added: Boats, Lunar Islands, and LOTS of New Mobs, Resources. No other updates has been as BIG in terms of content as the first ROT update, all the other updates that have followed have been “Bit Sized” parts of content, to help add to ROT ToT. For example Water Logged only added one small location out in the ocean with Grass Gators and Water Spiders.. Now compare that to LUNAR ISLANDS.. which had lunacy effect, shattered spiders, Carrat, Saladmander, Gashalts, etc etc etc.. I also have the feeling that the “next” Story Arc will add another Turn of Tides sized update that just like ToT.. gets filled in with bit sized content afterward. Epic bosses, new biome, new (solution-oriented) lore, new puzzle, classic DS art, a grand finale to the entire arc and the start of the next one in story and gameplay, this update has everything I've ever wanted. But being serious; I think Turn of Tides was truly exciting, Introduction of Wormwood and Wurt made me waste another hours in this game, Forgotten Knowledge and Eye of the Storm was also great. ( I like the fishing system if nobody has mentioned it yet) I like the Wigfrid rework because it distinguishes her as a performance artist from a real Valkyrie, and adds to the depth of the character, also it makes her benefit the team better than just a mass production line of helms. I like the Willow rework because the transformation of Bernie to a ragged giant bear that mocks and attacks enemy is like a manifestation of her collapsed mentality. I appreciate the uncanniness. It's also thoughtful that Bernie! can attack shadow creatures while Abigail cannot, because Abigail is a real ghost but Bernie! is more like an imaginary friend/alter ego. Besides, in the early days of Dont Starve there have been a lot of "Poster" updates, that were quite small and didn't fit in a single "big" patch. Another way to phrase the question is: "What update would you be most saddened by to see it removed?" If that's the case, then the Ruins update has to be the best for me. Hell, the caves update in general. Caves add SO much variety. I wish we could do more shards than just caves in a world (maybe when fuelweaver portal gets an update???) EDIT: Scratch all of that. It has to be the bundle wrap update. Don't take my bundle wrap. Xbox gamers have always had both ROG & ANR, When the game comes out in just 4 days on Nintendo Switch- It’ll already have ever update up to that point, so for Xbox players we can’t pick ANR as our favorite update because it’s Always been a core part of our game.
