do you have nicknames for some mobs, characters and etc.?

Recommended Posts

I'm pretty sure you have some nicknames for some mobs, characters, items, bioms and such, what i am talking about?
Let's say if i gave you a picture of a mob and i tell you to name it, most of you would just call it how it is called but there would be one person that would call it completely differently. Do you get it now? I hope so because now some rules to this thread
1. Obvious nicknames aren't allowed - Try to not type here some really basic ones (for example: clockwork knights - horse, batilisks - bats etc.)
2.If nickname is a language joke, related to some kind of inside joke just explain!
3. don't **** talk each other because someone has a different opinion - I'm pretty sure that someone will submit a nickname that loudly says "I DON'T/DO LIKE THAT THING SO I GAVE IT A NICKNAME LIKE THIS" and it's totally fine, just, don't hate that person because she/he/they/it/whatever_I'm_bad_at_this have different opinion
4. NO POLITICAL NICKNAMES
5. have fun! :P

I'll start:
I call clockwork rooks "debil" what does "debil" means? Debil is a word in slavic slang, it means morons, why do i call him like this? Clockwork rooks are easily manipulated to destroy other mobs
I call Depth dwellers "albino spiders"

Do abbreviations count?

in that case:

NME fuel - Nightmare Fuel

TS - Touch Stone

Isle of plenty - that one Jungle + tidal Marsh island in SW with tons of Berry bushes, spiders, monkeys, snakes and reeds

Clops Bait - signs

Best Friends - Rock Lobsters

Not mobs, but when my friend and I play DST, I usually nickname the server based on the characters we play.

Wigfrid and Wendy (and Abby) (my personal favourite): Three Feral Girls

Wendy (and Abby) and Maxwell: Jack Carter’s Mostly Alive Family

Willow and Wilson: Of Matchsticks and Theorems (based on their Steam card)

Woodie and Winona: Union Buds

My current list:

Wolfgang - Ratman
Wortox - Goat
Wormwood - Weedman
Second-hand Dentures - Granny's Teeth
Meatballs - Memeballs
Hounds - Fresh Meat
Red Hounds - Chili Dogs
Blue Hounds - Chilly Dogs
Ewecus - JoeW
Slurper - S U C C
Rock Lobster - Punching Bag
Bearger - No. 1 Lumberjack
Klaus - **** Claws (**** = S.a.t.a.n)
Toadstool - TS
Tentacle Spike - TS
Touch Stone - TS
Autumn - Hell
Winter - Heaven
Celestial Orb - Cursing Orb
Base - Bae
Marked base - Cursed bae
Player who asks for the base - Beggar
Player who asks for the base while standing in a base - Choosing Beggar
Players who base at spawn - Spawncampers
Player who gets invaded by Deerclops - The Chosen One

Edit:

Pigman - Racists
Bunnyman - Vegans
Merms - Fishman
Malbatross - Seagull
Moslings - Ducklings

Hounds = Ivans (Named after my puppy, who's really bitey.)

Batilisks = Rattus Rattus

All Clockworks = Checkers (Yes, the first time I saw these things I thought they were supposed to be representing checkers.)

No = My head says no, but my heart. Also says no.

Insert the whole meme language mod

My favortie so far:

Wormwood - Wormweed

Treeguard - Lorax/Optimus Pine

Toadstool -  Rare Pepe

Malbatross - BigBadBirb

Beefalo - Boof

Spider - Spoder

Guano - White chocolate

When I play with my friends we mostly translate everything in Finnish, including mob names that are combinations of different animals, or just use the original English word with a terrible Finnish accent because why not.

Examples of our traslated names:

Beefalo - Pihveli

Koalefant - Koalafantti, Fantti

Bunny and bunnyman - Pupu

Pigman - Possu

Tentacle - Lonkeroinen

Dephtsworm - Mato

Ewecus - Mummo (which actually means granny)

And if you have no idea how bad the Finnish accent can get when we're not even trying, may I present to you a video demonstrating the horrors of it!

Spoiler

Big fluffy buddy - Bearger
Mommy Long-Legs - Spider Queen (My Webber is showing)
Orange Forest - Deciduous Forest
Truffula Trees - Birchnut trees
Poop machine - Koalefant/Beefalo
Mama - Goose

Not really creative but that's all I got for now.

In spanish I usually call the weregoose form as simply "duck"

Yes! We pretty much give everything spanish nicknames, despite having the game in english.

Moose Goose: Pato
Depth Worms: Gusano
Catcoon: Gatito
Winona: Weona
Manure: Caca

It's fun to me because other than Winona, we basically name the mob after the animal it resembles but in spanish :p

Random names I stick with, from the top of my head:

Peter the Porker = Kukus ("kuku", sound they often make when scared by dark/caves) = Pig Men;

Peggy le Birb (peg legs) = Tall Bird;

Bonnylads = Bunnymen;

("Smashable") Becky = DF;

Beargie, the CareBear that really didn't care;

Kevin, the courageous Koale; alternatively The "Old-People-Making-Out-in-the-dark-of-the-night" Bundle = sleeping Koales in pen;

Baisu/basiki = base;

Pepito = bird in cage, usually Crow; Puffy = if Puffin;

Willy-doesn't-find-his-nilly = "Were base?!" Wilson;

Wulson = Wilson that failed at "wilsoning" (didn't find "were base" was) and kicked the bucket;

Willu = default-skin Willow (most likely noob griefer) dying from overheating/night/spiders/pigmen/bats/cats (yes, it happens);

Wart = Wurt;

GoGoDuck Express = Woodie in Goose form;

Intestinal Fiendish Friends inbound = not-so-Happy-Meal fast-food delivery (depends who will be le fast food in the end, players are too on menu) = Depths Worms;

S@tan-senpai = Klaus;

S@tan-kohai = Krampi.
