if you guys really want a challange you can donwload mods for challange and more...

If you start to talk about mods the great mike23ua will come and talk about consoles and mod support

My answer is twofold: I love the lore in general, but I'm looking forward to my man Wilson getting his due; although I acknowledge that Webber is also loooong overdue for a rework.  So I guess it's a threefold answer.

To choose one, I went with WX-78. To me, they could really use something to make them fun to play, most of their advantages comes from random occurances. Gears are dependent on players not killing the clockworks first/tumbleweed drop chances, overcharge is also player dependent on Wickerbottom or naturally through lightning storms in Spring.(?)

I'm all for a Webber rework (Don't get me wrong, webber is already awesome, but some additions or changes are welcome).

Anyway, WX-78 could use a rework as well. One thing I could suggest for WX-78, is adding a nerf in form of wearing out overtime, which can be prevented by oiling it regularly, and adding a buff in return to balance it. I mean, seriously, WX-78 not requiring regular oiling is just stupid :P

Im most hyped for the eventuall Webber rework / refresh, It'll be fun to see what webby things Klei might be able to vome up with!

Also, while Im not as hyped for the eventuall Wolfgang rework / refresh, I do want to see how Klei handles this pretty (overpowerd) powerful charachter; I hope they make him more balanced so to speak, just tone down his upsides, and give him a real downside, I suggest a shadow related downside!

Only thing tho is if they tone down his power he needs a additional upside I could see them toning down his speed before they decided to touch his power tho since his power is his main/only true sell.

I Want: Maxwell. Not that he needs it too desperately but it's the one I'd like the most due to how many possibilities he has.

I think that deserves the most: Webber, Wes, Wilson. Although If i had to guess, I'd say Wilson will be the last one (or among the last ones) due to lore concerns.

Notable mentions:

  • Winona, even though already was reworked, could probably get some extra love in a future patch.
  • Wurt requires heavy bugfixing (I'm still collecting all the data and will make the report soon-ish, or check my thread about the topic)
  • Wormwood would appreciate a bit of balance review of his unique crafts on DST. Maybe in a future QOL patch.

i would like a webber rework,he is literally my least played character but a good marge, like the only time i really did play as webber it was when i thought it would be fun to play as with my friend

but then he also decided to pick webber and since i am that type of person who doenst like the same 2 characters in a server i just told my friend to reroll me
(but i do like those servers where everyone picks the same character)

the big problem i have with webber is that yes he has a role to take part in,but youre kinda stucked in one single gimmick of just playing a character who can ally with spiders & other shinanigans related to it and kinda it

i think klei should rework webber into a character who has some solo capabilities but give him some more team player abilities

Honestly, I don't think his damadge modifier needs to be toned down; I whould say his speed boost is IMO out of place and shouden't be a thing, though that is by far the smallest of his problems.

though non of that is Wolfgang's main issue, the thing why I and many others find Wolfgang incredibly unitresting; is that he unlike most other charachters, lack a propper downside.

Yes, he does have his increased hunger drain when in "Mighty form", though seeing as you could just stay out of his mighty form, until you need to fight something is a valid strategy; I personaly don't recognice this as a proper downside. Also, his "fear" of the dark just dosen't do enough; currently the sanity drain when in darkness is pretty neglectable.

What do I propose? Well, I'd like to see his fear of the dark be expanded on exponentally; for example, what if Wolfgang was haunted by a brand new shadow creature that whould be a very powerful and dangerous foe, also maybe it whould only apear when playing as Wolfgang specificlly.

Bottom line; I do not wish to see Wolfgang be nerfed into the ground and become unplayable, instead I meerly wish to see him have an actuall and proper downside to balance of his very powerful perks!

Wow. Everyone waiting on Webber, huh? I don't know if that's showing love for spider boy or hatred of how he is right now. Should I feel happy or insulted? I can wait on Webber's update. I don't think he's in a terrible state.

I say Wolfgang and WX-78. We're getting Wigfrid, so I want our second combat specialist to get his as well. And WX-78 is in an odd (but ironically appropriate for his personality) situation where he actively hinders others by improving himself. Unlike Webber, who can mosey off into nowhereville and become the hermit you approach to trade goods for silk.

I don't know if newly introduced characters will get a rework, but if they do, Walter. Please and thank you. I think many would agree.

As to my poll answer? "I just love lore"

I feel like Wilson's will probably be last due to lore (a few years at the rate we're going), but I do really want to see how he changes. He isn't desperately in need of a rework, though.

I'd say WX, just so he can take advantage of upgrades without screwing others over. Or have his perks more positively effect other team members (like, having a combat heavy haracter instantly is useful for everyone, having an instant rideable animal/Chester is good, having easy access to silk and spider glands via Webber or Wendy is great, better foods faster via Wormwood and Warly, etc.) As others have said, WX is kinda (fittingly) only good for himself, unless you count his "OVERCHARGED" light radius as a bonus to other players.

I also desperately want his lore.

Actually a idea I've been tossing around in my head for quite awhile now is a punishment system for over eatting food tends to be the most abused thing in dst and alot of players I've seen have a hard time coping with food downsides. Here's what I suggest Wolfgang would have a new 4th state

flabby

speed 0.7%

Hunger 3x

Damage 0.9%

Saint drain 15 per min

It would be triggered by having having surplus hunger over your max when eating something. My idea was that if you had atleast 50 points of surplus hunger in a day you'd become flabby for 2 days unless you worked out for 1 minute with a dumbbell while food solves all wolfgangs issues currently this downside would punish gorging on food.

I mean besides stats Webber really only has the ability to befriend spiders...I mean he has a beard to I guess.  I think people want to actually play as a monster, and not just have a free walk through the ruins maze and easy access to meat.

As he is though he's definitely fine as is, he has more HP than standard characters, good hunger, low sanity but that can be both a good and a bad thing honestly since most of the penalties of sanity are % based and the ability to eat monster meat with no penalty.

Maybe it's not Webber that needs the update, but the spiders AI and systems itself, like their willingness to attack Chester and attack player made walls, I almost always use Webber in Singleplayer because he's the coolest looking character to me, and I had to basically kill my entire spider base because they would attack the sandbags I laid out through my island...it was unfortunate...

But it'd be really cool to have some actual monster qualities to Webber, other than to be told he's a monster. Really hard to say what to add to him, but most of his perks he already has don't seem like they'd be an issue if they were changed since they're so unintrusive to begin with.  With Wormwood we have characters that lose sanity when something they love gets destroyed, so a downside for Webber would probably be that he loses sanity if he sees spiders kill each other or he kills one.

An update to spider AI is a definite must to make Webber work better with non-webbers. We need some (reasonable) way to stop our spider friends from being a menace to us and, more importantly, to others. Wurt addressed this on her side.

There are a couple ways this could be addressed, and I'm eager and nervous) to see how Klei does so. I do hope his stats are untouched. That high health and low sanity comes in real handy. After playing Webber so long, I find characters with high sanity so tedious to manage.

The most basic nerf you could do to Wolfgang is make him not be able to use "scary" items, aka things from the magic tab and ancient pseudoscience station. You may say "Well that makes him boring to play" and my response to that is if you wanted to have fun, then why did you pick Wolfgang? ;)
