Later in the day the Wathgrithr (wigfrid) count will go down once US/EU pick up, for some reason people in China pick her a lot whereas people in the US/EU pick Wilson more.

I suspect most of them have really high ping and her tanking is the most friendly to that.

I'm currently experimenting with Wolfgang, but i'm not much of a fighter. I think i'll always prefer Wx' food benefits that let me stay out longer while mapping and gathering.

Wilson main forever.

Though lately I have started using Wurt a lot just because nobody really plays her, and I like to pick characters that are underused. Also I kinda like the fact that meatballs and pierogi are a nono. 

I also have real fun with Wormwood, as every hit you take hurts a lil' more. 

I used to play Wigfrid a lot when she got released in RoG, but then DST came out and a lot of people pick her, so I kinda use her waaay less nowadays. Again, I don't like to pic the same as everybody else.

once again this poll will point out the beauty of this game, given by the variety of playstyles, which are all viable options. It's fairly unusual i think to not have an overly-popular character or bunch of characters, but that's not the case in Don't Starve, this poll is as balanced as it gets :D. 

My main has to be Wolfgang, probably the least popular by now, i'm very confortable and enjoy his playstyle, i hope only they won't nerf his mightynesss too much :).

If anything to me this poll proves how different forumites are from bulk-player base at large. Forumites usually are advanced players trying to be as informed as they can be and ofc at a high knowledge/skill level different viable strats are present as well as efficient "meta". While casual players, newbies, noobs and such - mentioned vast-majority of player-base - don't establish their choices on educated selection, rather on what character assures more their survivability on a pretty basic level.

My conclusions: the tiny percentage of forumites from total player-base isn't at all representative for said player-base as a whole. Au contraire - their choices and opinions are vastly dissimilar.

I always play a different character each time i create a world but i really like wilson, it fits with the game, is more an antiheroe than a heroe, his quotes are hilarious, his way of walk is ridiculous, his instrument voice and has a magnificient beard

voted Wes for fun, but in vanilla game my actual main is Wolfgang, just because he is a Doom Guy: DST Edition

but in Feast & Famine I like to play as Warly, cuz you have more options to feed him

my point stands tho, even if it's of a small sample of above average players, even more so. I didn't say this poll is relevant for the bulk-player base, i agree it's probably not. Wilson's gotta be the most picked character by a large margin on a decent samplesize, but that's beside my point.

Spiders are adorable! I like Webber too, i think it’s great that you can befriend spiders or farm them if that’s what you want!

I voted Warly because I think this poll is mainly about DST and I love the chief's rework (fight me in DM, you mussel bouillabaise)

In DS however, it is Wormwood  Maybe one day will I post a thread about why I feel DST Wormwood lost some core features of its interesting gameplay from DS. But not now, for now I have to kill some Volt Goats and farm shells.

I recently changed my main, even though I thought it would never happen.

I changed from Wigfrig to Woodie.

Mainly because Woodie is hands downs the best character for sailing, especially on public servers. Firstly, you can use the Werebeaver to get wood FAST for your boat. And second, the Goose is amazing for transportation between boat and land. This is especially relevant on public servers. If your are on a moving boat and you get disconnected, when you log back in your character will be at spawn. If you are any other character, that's pretty much a nightmare because you need to build a whole other boat just to get back to your original boat, but if you're woodie you can just Goose your way back.

But I main Willow, Winona and especially Wigfrid too! With Wigfrid’s meat diet, it’s really not that hard to overcome, you can make meatballs, honey ham, froggie/froggle bunwich, and many other things.
