You should, there is some stuff you might have not noticed yet and I encourage you to find out with this post, I'll be also talking about the Merms and the Merm King of course, let's get into it. We better start with the stats. She have a pretty decent increased hunger, but a lower sanity than classic survivors ! 150200 150 Wurt's Pros : At home in the Swamp This perk is not related to the swamp directly but from the Marsh Turf ! While Wurt is on a Marsh Turf, she will have a passive speed boost that is the same as the Cobblestone Turfs or roads. She also have the ability to localise Tentacles underground more efficiently that other survivors : As a ghost Wurt will not be able to predict Tentacle positions A particle circle will spawn around them while underground (From 3.5 tiles away) Has big plans for Merm-kind Wurt have 5 unique recipes that make Merm Houses renewable and improve them : Craftsmerm House : x4 x3 x3 Tier : Science 1 A Merm House with a different look and small changes : Only a single Merm can stay inside but they will respawn twice faster. Like the 2 other following recipes, they can only be placed on Marsh Tiles. DIY Royalty Kit : x5 x5 Tier : Science 1 Placing it sounds easy but it will not be finished yet, you have to build it the same way as the Celestial Portal : Once you have gathered the resources and upgraded it, you will have a Royal Tapestry on the floor, you should place it near to a Merm so it can sit on it : Once it is on the Royal Tapestry, feed the Merm some food (50 points) to obtain the Merm King. The Merm King will fully regenerate and upgrade all Wurt Players with 100 bonus points for Health and 50 for Hunger and Sanity (250 Health / 250 Hunger / 200 Sanity) on the world it is located, so you need two of them if you want to keep the upgrade in caves as well. You can know if Wurt and Merm Guards are upgraded by the Merm King power since they have a new appearance with War paints : Game exploit : Spoiler If you are in a world with no Merm King and join one with it, your stats will be fully restored : World with Merm king World with no Merm King Returning on the world with Merm King This effect persist as long it is alive, but make sure it have Merm Guards for its protection since it can be attacked by monsters such as hounds. After taking many damages, the Merm King can summon 4 guards itself that will keep target on who attacked it. You also need to keep the Merm King feed, it have 200 Hunger and will starve under 2 days. It is vegetarian, like Merms. You can also trade fishes for some items, all the details on Trades : Spoiler Giving a fish to the Merm King will give you one of the following Loot Tables : Loot Tables : Kelp | Min = 2 / Max = 4 Kelp | Min = 2 / Max = 3 Seeds | Min = 4 / Max = 6 Rot | Min = 2 / Max = 4 Tentacle Spots | Max = 1 Dessicated Tentacle or Gord's Knot or Air Unfreshener or Bend Fork or Gnome | Max = 1 | + Filler Durian Seeds or Pepper Seeds or Eggplant Seeds or Pumpkin Seeds or Onion Seeds or Garlic Seeds | Min = 1 / Max = 4 | + Filler Filler Table : Filler = Seeds or Seeds or Seeds or Seeds or Kelp or Rot | Min = 2 / Max = 4 Same as the Pig King, it will throw the items at you. If the Merm King die, you just have to bring another Merm on the Royal Tapestry, you can only destroy it if there is no one in it. Merm Flort-ifications : x5 x1 x2 Tier : Science 2 This house will spawn a Merm Guard if the Merm King is alive in this world, you can find out if the watchtowers can spawn guards if the flags are outs. The guards are stronger than default Merm : Health : 660 (250 default) | Damage : 60 (30 default) | Both can protect the Merm King but the guards have a longer range to localise threats. If the Merm King die, remaining Merm Guard will be weaker : Health : 200 | Damage : 20 | Only 90% of their speed boost Marsh Turf x1 x 2 Clever Disguise x1 x1 x2 A hat that mostly works like the Shamlet Mask of Webber on Hamlet, it will give the owner the appearance of a Merm, so you can approach them safely. It also give you the ability to befriend them, you can't trade or feed the Merm King without this hat as another survivor. Spoils in 6 days. Is a vegetarian Wurt can eat Veggies, Seeds and everything that is not considered as meat. Eating Veggie have 33% greater stats than other survivors And 33% additional from Kelp And 60% additional from Durian (only positive stats) Eating Durian & Kelp will not affect your sanity or health Wurt's additional Perks : Having a fish in your inventory give you 3.3 sanity per minute (1 max). Wurt can read Wickerbottom's Books : Reading the book will not trigger its ability but Wurt will simply read it, which takes a use from the book Instead, Wurt will just sit and read them and gain / loose sanity depending of the book : Birds of the World : +50 "This one have pictures of birdies!" On Tentacles : +50 "This a good one!" Sleepytime Stories : +33 "Wuh... wunce? Once! U-up... on... uh..." Applied Horticulture : -33 "So many hard words..." The End is Nigh : -33 "Flurrgh, wanna know how it ends!" She is a Merm : (for real dude) Pigs will attack her. Which mean the Pig King will also refuse to trade with Wurt Bunnymans and others creatures that attack Webber & Wortox are neutral She can befriend Merms by feeding them She's not affected by the slippery effect on tools and weapons Drowning in the ocean with Wurt will only give you 50 wetness You keep your full inventory Other stats are not affected, max health is not decreased as well Additional notes : You can now give hats to Merm as Wurt or with Clever Disguise (Merm Guards will not accept hats) Merms can be used to chop trees like pigs slightly faster but can also mine anything. Or am I imagining things? assuming you're not imagining things, then MK is either increasing there scale or replacing them with a stronger version of themselves. If it's the latter, them there would be no difference in speed unless explicitly coded in, but if it's the former, then merms would actually be faster with a Merm King in the world. I believe size in DS engine automatically scales move speed. It's why mighty wolf or enraged gooselings do it. Just getting 20 kelp was annoying on my day 3500+ world. I have 8 kelp relocated at my summer base. 2 at the main base and 2 at the lunar island base. The Merm king calls for 20.
