How Do Characters Smell?

The two most likely candidates for this would be Wolfgang and Wigfrid, due to their dialogue of baths. You might say that Woodie should be included in this as well since he's a lumberjack, but he shows that he has concern for hygiene in his quote for the rubber bung.

what even happened to this thread

Wouldn't Wicker have that typical old person smell mixed with old books?

As lovable as this thread is, three main concerns the game deliberately avoids addressing to keep survival fun rather than tedious:

- thirst

- sleep being obligatory

- all kinds of diseases and parasites (which SW tried to tackle and we know we just got poisoning)

YES.

I tried to be merciful.

In our RPG, we frequently reference the fact the world of THEIRS is a parasitic dimension since sentient humanoids don't die, don't reproduce, don't have to drink, sleep and defecate, thusly relying on pigs and beefalos.

She is not that old to "smell" like so. Mature women uses wonderful perfumes, and books also smell so good :wilson_love:.

My vote for the worst stanker goes for Wolfgang. No-sleeve shirts and that nasty moustache together with his grassy hair are the reasons. Also Wilson hair must have something to stay like that all the time. Could be egg, or animal fat. Or who knows what other anti hygienic substances.

And nobody has mentioned Wendy. Being a blonde girl won't make her smell good! About a depressed person who just don't give a **** about life anymore, one could say she also stopped caring about hygiene long ago.

I'm inclined to think Woodie has some natural not-as-bad smell. Even when I hate how he looks. < pls mate let your beard grow a bit so you don't look like you don't have a jaw!!

I can confirm that Wickerbottom smells like mothballs and "kindness" from Wolfgangs quote on her Reviver reputation.

Spoiler

        WICKERBOTTOM =
        {
            GENERIC = "Is strong brainlady! Hello, tiny %s!",
            ATTACKER = "Ha ha! %s should not pick fight with dumb books!",
            MURDERER = "%s is killer!",
            REVIVER = "%s smell like mothballs and kindness.",

I think they would smell like this if they were not in the DS world, but still their DS selves (minus work and stuff).

I think Wilson would smell kind of like, sterile? You know, kind of like baby wipes and metal.

Willow would smell like smoke and fire.

Wendy would smell like fabreeze or smth. That flower would smell good, no?

Wickerbottom would smell like, as said, mothballs and paper.

Wolfgang = bad

Woodie would smell like wood chips, metal, and cinnamon.

Wigfrid would smell like roses, as she is an actor, not a real warrior guys :^d

WX-78 would smell like burning and metal.

Wes would smell like rubber and a faint smell of flowers.

Maxwell would smell like nothing, maybe some smell from his rose.

Webber would smell like nothing, maybe rot.

And there we go.

Wilson: Too much aftershave
Willow: Smoky clothing
Wes: Faint make-up
Wigfrid: Coniferous forest & sweat
WX-78: Car workshop
Wolfgang: Sand & circus food smell
Walani: Saltwater breeze
Warly: Spicy restaurant
Webber: Mud/soil & wet fur
Woodie: Pine-tree sap & newly chopped wood
Wickerbottom: Abandoned old wooden house
Wendy: Newly washed clothes & blood
Charlie: Expensive rose perfume
Maxwell: Above mentioned perfume & too many cigars

What about Woodlegs though? I'm like 99.9 percent sure he would smell the worst in shipwrecked.

Probably don't. Well, maybe Woodie doesn't mean fire baths, but not real baths either.

He says something like 'Reminds me, gotta convince Willow to take a real bath'

Willow says "I never liked bathing with water." when examining a rubber stopper, so Woodie is probably just referencing her dislike (or possible fear) of water. Or maybe she DOES take fire bathes? Either way she probably smells better than the rest of the characters. (That is, if you consider ashes and soot to smell better than BO and sadness.)
