This game need thirstiness

I'm rather interested in how making it so there's overeating/puking would affect the gameplay/experience.

The idea is: overeating/eating too much stale/rotten food would make your face greener and at some point you'd puke and lose health.

Food healing/sanity restoration would be less effective, for example.

The game would also become harder.

edit: Hm. Well, everybody would use healing salves I guess. Giant spider farms, Webber/Wendy buff basically. Less options would be useful. Bad idea.

I definitely agree that it seems like a necessary factor for survival but it would definitely add more difficulty to the game and would open a whole new branch of possibilities and variables. Had it been a more realistic survival simulator, it probably would have been called "Don't Get Dehydrated" or something, as water is much more of a necessity.

But with this, we could have water bottles, water filters, a usable potato cup, craftable ice, buckets, means of putting out fires and creating ponds, and many many more things.

Part of a DLC perhaps?

We should add a breathing meter as well.

Everyone knows that breathing is an integral part of every day survival.  It's WAY more important than drinking or eating.

Every few seconds, a player could be required to press a button to inhale, filling the meter, and then when it gets full, they could press another button to exhale.

Talk about immersive!

To make the game even more revolutionary, we could also make walking more in-depth.  We all know how difficult walking is, after all.  In order to take a step, you would have to play a minigame in which you would correctly set the trajectory, speed, and balance of your step.  To win, you would have to set all of these correctly or risk falling over.  We all know how dangerous falling over is; you could break a leg, or even your neck.  So losing the minigame results in a health decrease between 20 and 400.  However, if you do it correctly, you will successfully take one step.  Repeat until you reach your destination.

too far?

What if we took this a step further and add a eye meter representing the wetness of your eyes and you'll have to stop and blink a little bit to keep you're eyes watered and if you don't keep them watered you'll go blind and have to forever play the game blind until you die and resurrect.

And everytime you eat, you have to spam space to chew the food, because if you eat it too fast the food wont be able to digest properly.

Nope. Just nope. Fix what we have. Twiggy tree got pretty nice fix. Maxwell got decent fix. Willow and Woodie needs some color now.

Aaaaaaa this coment is so so stupid

On a serious note, I would love to have a "Hardcore" mod a'la Fallout, where your items have weight, food weight, and just about everything you can put in your inventory. Reach a treshold and you will be encumbered. (Insert penalty here)

Yes or no? I wish they add one Day new parameter to keep an eye on. You could collect fresh water from ponds and Rain.

Thoughts?

For something to keep an eye on, make a maglum. You'll never have anything else to look at!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like how every post i see here is a double post

damn we have  a serious disease around here

leaving the issue aside,i think the game is as hard as it is for now i see  no need for a thirst meter or sleep meter or any more other meters

It would be nice ONLY if it was a Mod or optional mechanic. Neither the DLCs or the Base game added such mechanic, so that would be TOO much game changing for long playing.

also that you anger the squirrel-bot avatar guy that comes here just to yell how DST is different from DS

You are all taking this out of context. I really doubt his intentions were to add realism, he may just have wanted to make the game a little bit harder and honestly for anyone who managed to finish story mode, this game is a breeze even with hounds and giants set on LOTS.

Also this game isn't called don't go insane, or don't freeze to death and yet we have those things, so really you're not in any position to talk. :)
