EDIT (12/21/2023): Today's patch updated the icons for Walter's The Merrymaker and O Tannenbaumer Jacket.  The checklist has been updated to Version 1.14.20.  Moreover, the spools unravel value list has been updated to reflect the new Steam Winter sale discounts.

EDIT (01/12/2024): Today's hotfix updated the icons for 19 skins and added the Merrymaker Survivor's Chest, Part III as a DLC on Steam.  The checklist (to Version 1.14.21) and spools unravel value list have both been updated.

EDIT (10/27/2024): Last Thursday's Hallowed Nights update added 4 new skins to the game.  As per usual, event rarity Hallowed Nights skins will be automatically checked as owned during the event.  The checklist has been updated to Version 1.14.33.

Remember the Sync function and the API URL in the following format?

Recently, it stopped working - at least for me.
I have already found a workaround though. 
The count 2500 works, so I suspect they lowered the limit.
(I also tried to delete cookies, sign out and in to Steam, change the user agent, use another computer with a different IP address, but that didn't have any effect.)

So if you have some time, please test what works at your end.
Maybe we can wait a couple of days, to see if this is only a temporary problem.

Nice catch!  Steam must've changed this sometime within the last few weeks as the JSON endpoint was still listing up to 5000 skins (per fetch) when I last updated the checklist on April 17th.

Upon further investigation, it appears that the new lowered limit is actually 2000 skins (down from 5000).  While setting count=2500 will return JSON, those results are nevertheless still truncated to 2000 skins.  This means 5 JSONs (up from 2) are now required to reach the 10,000 skin limit in DST. 

I've just updated the checklist to Version 1.15.0 to reflect this new lowered limit.  Let me know if there are any issues.  Moreover, the Spectraflux Pack was added to the Klei Rewards website on April 24th, 2025, so the description for that skin was also updated.

As for the matcher, I will fix that tomorrow when I have time.  I will make an edit to this post when that's updated.

EDIT (06/01/2025): The tradable duplicate skins matcher has also been updated to reflect the new lowered JSON endpoint limit.

EDIT (06/04/2025): Just noticed that the modal box when syncing with the Drops Reset Countdown mod's exported JSON file is still showing the old directory location for the exported file.  This was changed back in February 2025 when write access for mods became restricted to the "unsafedata" directory.  The checklist has therefore been updated to fix the incorrect location.  As it is a very minor change, I did not increment the checklist version number.  So, it remains at Version 1.15.0.

There might be an optional parameter to prefill my Steam ID, which would make the syncing easier. I could add it to my bookmarks.

which would prefill the "Enter your Steam ID" box in checklist,
and https://dst-skins-checklist.firebaseapp.com/match?steamidA=76561198155118734&steamidB=76561198155118734
which would show clickable links in the matcher, for opening the jsons.

What do you think? Is that possible? 😇 
(If you think this is unnecessary, just ignore it, I can always put the links together manually.)

As long as you save the checklist after a sync, the checklist already does prefill the SteamID field of the sync modal with the SteamID of your last sync.  This has been a feature since Version 1.14.0.  As for adding SteamID URL parameters to the checklist and matcher, I'll take that into consideration for the future.

I was intrigued and looked into making a skin previewer or a tabular way to render the icons of skins just for reference sake as well as indexability.
