My main goal at this point is trading most my items here (including some but not all marked with an X or Green) for a smallbird satchel.  If you have a smallbird satchel to trade and you don't like what I have (join the club, nothing but commons for 3 weeks, ugh), I would appreciate a message telling me what you're looking for so I have a goal to work toward.  Otherwise, I'm getting alarmingly close to a complete collection of all the commons.

This guy (he goes by Jotunheim here on the forums) is abusing the game just to get items from other games and asking buying prices that are too high when he doesn't even play DST. I would ask that no one trade him anything, because that only allows him to further abuse the system and ruin the economy. I certainly won't be trying to trade with him again.

2. aren't you the one godmoding in DST? Because you are (as he said) 24/7 in DST so you have some rare disease where you don't need to sleep (i want that or you are godmoding (it's not against rules but "abusing system" as you are saying)

 

3. i can't change my DST items for other game items? Are you for real? Where are these rules??? There are multiple people here and everywhere trading TF2 items for DST items. "Steam doesn't want you to have more accounts"? WHAT?

 

4. He is ruining economy? What economy?? You have 43 items in your inventory and i have 46: i get probably all drops since day one PLUS my inventory is with items from my brother (for trading purposes) so i don't know where are your items from but doesn't seem legit as you are saying AND bashing him for the same reason! Also if i trade lets say 2 animal backpack for one game gift it is already for $$ so YES it is marketable in some kind!

EDIT: i just traded with him and he give me better offer than Exhu. Also if i had any TF2/CSGO skins/hats or whatever and i dont play those games anymore i would trade all of them for DST items (that i play a lot) because why not?

While I do find this drama to be entertaining, I'm going to ask that we keep it confined to private messages only because I don't want this awesome topic to be locked. 

 

I agree that there's something vaguely sleazy about turning Klei's gifts into a business; it corrupts the nature of the system into a means to an end, rather than a reward in and of itself for players who genuinely love the game. But we all must have known this would happen eventually, and if it wasn't Jotun it'd be someone else. Let's not struggle against the inevitable. 

 

On the other hand, he's not doing anything outright illegal or immoral. He's making fair and legal trades with willing participants. He's not scamming anyone. He's allowed to refuse trades. And in my eyes the chat posted reflects poorly on Exhu, not Jotun.

Learn to actually read. I don't afk in the game, I actually play it. Oh look, those items in the picture must have all magically appeared out of nowhere. Not that it's any of your business, but the "rare disease" you mentioned isn't so rare, it's called insomnia, and yes I have stayed up playing for 36-48 hour periods (there are several people who can vouch for me on this).

 

You're only pissed cuz I told you I didn't want to trade any of my scribble black items multiple times yet you kept insisting (did I mention the four common items you offered me were all things I already owned? Oh and I still told you after that I did not want to trade any of the items you were asking for because I used them regularly.. yet here you are flaming me like you gave me a fair trade and they weren't items I have marked as not for trade on my post). Jotunheim is completely in the wrong. Please take your crap somewhere else.

I'm aware of the full context of this drama. I agree with the spirit of your disapproval, I just don't condone being mean. He has done nothing to deserve nasty insults and attempts at public humiliations. I also don't like that you're now derailing this thread which has nothing to do with him.

Pardon but he was the one being mean/rude in the first place. He makes fun of Fidooop when he says he declined his offer and calls him names, he ignores anyone who gives him an offer he doesn't want (which is like always), I had to ask him multiple times if it was a yes or no and I was lucky if I got a response. Also I posted in this thread to warn people that he is scamming.

Well its up to the person selling the backpack. Could be worth too much for them to part with, could be worth the price of another ele, or even just 20$ in some cases now

I have no idea, honestly.  My offers of 1 spiffy + 2 classy + 7 common have been turned down twice.  I'd offer more but I don't know anyone who's currently trading a smallbird satchel.

 

$20, you say?  I don't suppose there's anyone who'd trade for 10 million* KoL meat or 2 Mr. A's, is there?  (Obviously not, between the relative obscurity of the game and the lack of any means of trading KoL items for Steam collectibles... unless someone has made a bot to act as a middleman, but even then you'd need a trustworthy bot manager.  Also, while impartial public-service bot accounts are a longstanding accepted practice in KoL, I somehow doubt the same is true for Steam accounts.)

 

*also my Mr. A prices might be 6 years out of date.

I think that's a fair trade. It doesn't mean that everybody will go for it though. Some people value the elegant packs over everything, and will never trade once they get their hands on them. Others prefer a more variable wardrobe. It's personal preference, and will differ from person to person.
