This is not mod, it's fully vanilla: make rocket with trailblazer, launch it to orbit, land dupe back on your home and now your rocket can fly without a pilot. Slower, but always

My request for the in-space resource collection autopilot would be "Manufacturing an autopilot in the game", "Fit it to rocket" and then target a resource field on the space map - Similar to the old base game in-space resource collection.

Messing with rocket interiors and crews is too much micro management for my taste, the in-space resource field collection was wonderful solved in the base game. :p

It's not entirely a thing that can't be done imo.

Usual drill cone rocket but:

-A battery module must be built for temperature management etc.

-Cockpits must be fitted with a command station, bed, wall toilet, fridge and a dedicated outlet for food and oxygen.

-one duplicant only and no critters.

---------

-Add a specific module that turns the rocket into a auto rocket with a duplicant.

On the same module:

-Has a dedicated attachment for duplicant living supplies that is fed into the main cockpit during flight and nothing else for said module on the trip, the quantity calculated by distance (food/Kcal, oxygen and maybe make water something a duplicant needs instead of being akin to a kangaroo rat?) .

-Designates that platform it takes off from for itself and no other rocket so it can always return (And destroy everything that get's into its way on return - I am looking at you bunker doors).

-Adds the star map calculator like in Vanilla.

-Same module also counts the shortest distance to said asteroid then calculates the fuel/oxydizer needs for a return trip. then the rocket won't take off unless that need is met (like Vanilla)

-While you can peak at the cockpit while inflight, the duplicant is denied access to the player so to avoid messy commands (Or remove it entirely like in vanilla to save fps).

All waste can be considered dumped into space (so deleted)

.

Many many thanks @Ntr1cate for all your thoughts about the old Klei request of mine, on simplifying the star map resource collection via dumb no-crew rockets...Like in the old base game.

I think the only dlc thing which would need to be possible, is that the crew requirement drops ( the drill cone module could feature this by default :bee: ) as soon an "resource-collector-autopilot" is slapped on to a rocket by the player. Whatever loose strings and implications would then still need to be solved by Klei...I bet ipsquiggle could program that in record time.

Players like me, which enjoy operating lots of rockets to collect space map resources, would greatly welcome the dlc`s reduction of crew micro management, in order to collect resources from space fields in a simplified way. It should be made easy if one operates up to a dozen rockets at once.

I am waiting for this simplification since a year now, it would be greatly welcome dear Klei. :p

Omg.   Kitchen room.    I'm too excited for this.   Yay!!!  ♥️

Since this is possible for refrigerators, and since this update seems to be focusing in part on cooking, can we please get a "Tame Eggs Only" toggle for egg crackers?  Also, would you guys consider making food storage a Food Supply errand in addition to it being a Supply errand?  Kitchen management would run a lot smoother if the chef could store the food he cooks in the refrigerator without also being tempted to run across the map to make a construction supply delivery.

Yes. Great idea.  Option to sort out tamed and wild!

Forgive me if I'm short on the details, but the Smog Slug sucks up unbreathable gases, and then exhales them during the night into a gas pipe, and the sponge slug soaks up any liquid, and then deposits it into a liquid pipe as they sleep. Both of them have a temperature range of -30 to 90c, and drop 3,200 kcal upon death.

Wow. The new morph is a huge game changer.  Can't wait to use the gas slug.     At first glance when I read the patch notes I was like meh slugs.    After reading about the gas slug above.  This update is amazing.

It's scrolling too fast! Game's achieved "never before heard of performance" on my old save! Somebody stole the training wheels!

Woooooooot  So, performance wise its good to change to the testing branch ? Ohhhhhhhhhhh

If they insist on a pilot, I nominate sweepy, give him something to do instead of doing nothing.

Turn the rocket left.

Turn the rocket right.

beep beep.

Sounds like a sweepy is a natural-born pilot.

Hey friends,

We’re ready to start public testing for our next update!

Isn't there a (new) lore issue with the update?

now that Travaldo Jones has a new name, who is using the email address ejones@gravitasfacility.nova? AFAIK, there's no Duplicant with a name starting with a 'E'

Game runs at double the speed with the preview branch ! Many thanks for mentioning it dear @JRup

Tested with a large save file, which currently uses 10gb ram on a fresh load. Core count has remained the same at ~1.5 cores.

Runs here 200-300% faster...Great work Kkkkkleeeiiii :cheerful:

I can see the smog morph being useful to gather the hydrogen regular morphs create. Not only you will likely get them at random when ranching plug slugs for power but it will work in the same setup collecting the hydrogen for free without needing automation to turn it off. That`s efficiency.

YES!  hopefully  I can finally ditch my CO2 Scrubber and place a bed in its place now.

WOW.    Optimization!!   Great job Klei.

Few not that important things:

The notifications for scanning critters have no way of being deleted. You're just stuck with them forever.

The Somniac machine or what it's called is SO. LOUD. extremely. Ouch.

Getting pajamas one by one is very irritating. Perhaps a window for amount wanted like in grills and such would work here?

Sounds like some fun stuff!

It would be nice to get a little info on what the design concept behind new additions is, to have a better idea of what to expect and what Klei is trying to achieve. For example, we know the "Story Traits" add new objects, but is that the whole idea? Should we expect a multi-part story involving the objects? Or are they basically worldgen options like "Crashed satellites"?

I'm somewhat more curious about the upper limits of what they can store without venting.   Might be a useful way of transporting gases or liquids in rockets if the collection limit and rate are decent.

They'd be literal wranglable fuel batteries.

Sorry , linux version crashes in No sweat mode, Space out , any planet that i choose , and some can't generate the map , i verified the files and disable all mods that i had. I do not test it in Survival mode.

Edit : Crashes also without the Space out DLC .

No crash but I can't generate 'no sweat' seeds. I filed
