Ohh so turns out those were also given for early access, not Electronic Arts. Somehow never noticed I had those. When were they distributed anyway, when the game left early access there were no portraits or chat icons, were there? I distinctly remember those being added with Forge season 1.

I'm surprised there are people seriously upset about others being able to get some beta bottomless pit skin, when you can get those master race Stone Kiln and Carved Stone Torch skins.

Imagine what people having those feel right now before trying to start some fuss about an allegedly elite skin.

Quick question, if Console players are never ever ever going to be able to play Crossplatform with PC- What does it matter if console players can finally get a skin they could’ve only gotten if they had been playing on PC in a Early Access Beta?

Another Question- If Nintendo Switch got console exclusive Nintendo Licensed skins (Mario, Donkey Kong Etc..) Would people on Xbox/PlayStation/PC be angry that they can’t use that consoles exclusive skins?

If you’ve ever played Minecraft on Xbox you’d know it has Halo & State of Decay exclusive skins/Mashup packs, If you played on PlayStation- You got A Spider-Man skin set that was once actually available on Xbox but when Sony bought the rights to the franchise (yes Spider-Man franchise is owned by Sony..) The skin set that was on Xbox was removed & now it’s exclusive to playing on PlayStation. & finally if you play Minecraft on Nintendo consoles- You can have an exclusive Mario themed Mashup skin/Texture pack.

I wouldn’t care at all if DST had Switch exclusive skins.. because chances are I’ll never get to crossplay with switch players anyway.

How can you even use the argument that you haven't been there? That's the whole point.

 Would DST continue developing to this day if it didn't get the initial support or any other games in EA for that matter? 

Rarities have no value, its only a word that says timeless or loyal in your curio, not like you even look at that yourself and other players would care even less for it. It doesn't make any sense to have rarities that don't have any differences in the game.

It was a simple skin in the game that should've stayed exclusive, it is not a collection as it was given as early access award and it was said that it was given for that.

It is not about gatekeeping skins, it is about gatekeeping one skin that was given for a very special reason to players that bought the game at that time.

@Mike23Ua What klei should've done is give the skin to all the players that bought DST at that time on consoles. I believe that it would be possible for them to just look up on dates when people bought the game and distribute it.

Well my intent was not to start a war or argument between EA and other DST supporters. It's just some sentimental feeling from being a little bit special to not special at all as an EA. I believe it's ok to make EA a bit more special, others may disagree, it's ok. 

Too many things are changing all the time, I personally wish at least there is something remain the way it was.  If I missed it, I missed it. Well time traveler like Wanda may disagree, it's ok.

Even though I had the Bottomless Pit skin from EA I never used it. Just didn't look that good to me lol

So what your saying is- if Klei did this like right now this second and gave like a 2-3 week grace period for the platform if I missed the date to get the skin on PC/ then Ps4 later and a year later on Xbox- I could go out right now and buy the game on Nintendo Switch and since it’s in the “grace” period of owning it when it first launches I will get the skin awarded to me on my Switch, And if I happen to miss that- a few years from now When/If DST is rereleased on Mobile Smartphones or PS5/XS I can just buy the game during THAT Grace period and be awarded the skin.. and because my inventory can now be shared across accounts just link my Mobile/Xs version (released about 2-3 years from the moment of this post) and I’ll have the skin from being in Beta of the game when it launches on a new platform?

Klei should probably just do what epic did when it came to early supporters of STW, when the game went out of EA, they gave EA supporters a chunk of the ingame currency. I'm sure if Klei gave EA supporters something no one would be complaining. (Because apparently some people feel entitled to something just for owning a skin lol)

No, it should only be given on consoles that had the game at around that time.

If I'm reading this correctly, then it sounds like you're saying "if you beta tested the game on whatever platform, you get the beta-testing skin," and that's... not nearly as crazy an idea as you seem to think it is.

Why would it matter if you have it or not? The point is that it was given for EA and it was said so back then, while you might not care it doesn't mean that others don't.

It is one skin that was given for a specific reason and it allowed you to show that you were there at that time.

There have probably been over 10-20 threads a year about it or more, when people can't have something they just want to have it even more, they see other players in games use the pit and they feel entitled to have it.

As somebody who had the skin... We had it for like, 6 years or however long I think... I already got my milage from it a long time ago. If it makes people happy that they can finally have it then I'd want nothing more. Time-limited stuff and FOMO sucks! When you reward people for being early, you're also punshing those who are late. 

Besides I don't see the skin as a 'reward' for being an early player/tester. The real reward was being able to play the game and enjoy it sooner (damn that sounded lame) That, and being able to keep the game after the beta test which I'm pretty sure wasn't even promised

I think you guys missed my point, if buying the game and playing during its first 2-3 weeks of release onto a new platform granted you this skin- then currently: You could buy the game on Nintendo Switch and get this skin..

Flash forward two years from now Klei Rereleases DST on PS5 & Series X/S- If you buy it Then you can get the skin during the first weeks of its release.

Okay so IPhone 16 comes out and Klei releases DST on it 2-3 years after that. And if you buy the game during the first few weeks of its availability you get this skin.

My “Point” was that if I missed getting it on PC/PS4/Xbox/Switch/PS5&SeriesX/S then I can get it on DST Mobile and the entire point of this whole thread would be debunked as I’d still obtain the skin years later.

Whenever i get enough klei points my next purchase is going to be that extra useless loyal bottomless firepit just out of spite for those that love gatekeeping skins and care so much about the "OG" status of skins because they have nothing else going for them.

While that is true it doesn't really matter if someone has it or not. Doesn't really give them a right to decide for the rest of the EA players if it should be released again or not.

Nice maturity and it isn't about skins or collection it is about one skin.

 Assuming that someone has personal problems because they want to keep their one identifier skin in the game to show that you were there.
