Rollback can be used, but you use that knowing your cheating.. Dying does have a punishment it’s just not as dominate as solo DS where entire worlds are deleted instantly. I understand Klei doesn't want to remove a feature players got used to, especially during ruins rushes. However, life-giving amulets are extremely cheap and this just created an exploit. leo920101 Posted April 19, 2022 Share Posted April 19, 2022 I see... getting back all gears WX ate means he can clean up all mob in ruins at the 2nd day of a new game, need no armor, no food, no healing, once WX has an Optoelectronic Circuit he is ready to go. after this, he can get back to main shard and kill himself, all those gears will drop, nothing is comsumed. and this is OK, not too OP, while a 7th slot is asking too much so we can't have. Mysterious box Posted April 19, 2022 Share Posted April 19, 2022 So based on testing it seems feeding merm guards now gives about 58% more loyalty on top of recruiting 3 more merms and having a much higher recruitment range than normal for a total of 6 merm gaining loyalty off the same food. This is great since now it feels like merm guards have a much higher payoff outside of just boosted atttack and durablility. Isn't that too powerful Gears does not upgrade him anymore, meaning WX can already bring back tons of gears by killing himself after ruins rush, even with a 2/3 drop rate. And now no punish for eating gears at all? I suggest that either he can use gears to up grade his charge slots (with 3 on born to max 6, so that he can't use optielectronic on day one), or give little of the gears back he consumed on death, so that death has some punishment rather than reward, and gears eating is not spammed. And maybe add his system overload back, giving him variable charge slots (3 base, 3 from upgrading, 2 from overload), making wx more playable: more challenge and higher limit. SinancoTheBest Posted April 19, 2022 Share Posted April 19, 2022 (edited) Wurt changes are great but the gear regurgitation change sounds very pointless and illogical to me- the rework turns them into basic nutrition, why does WX need to return any gears in the first place, let alone ALL OF THEM, which makes it pointless not to eat gears at all times since you'll just return them. If it must return gears cause they are too important to lose I suggest the rate to be lowered to 25%, 33% or 50% or lower its maximum gear return cap to 6, 10 or 12. Regardless, with no moral or logical barriers to eating gears at all times, (Wow that was a quick fix, you rule Klei!) I think it's more in order for WX to have base stats of 100, that'd very well balance out the easy stat gaining via gears and encourage the stat modules. Per usual, 7 charges compliments it perfectly too, letting him properly use many more combinations without needing to design any more stacking effects. Let me bring up the list of suggestions I see fit once again for tracking purposes: ▢ 7th Charge Slot ▢ 100 Base Health, Hunger and Sanity ▢ Separated backpack layout not obstructing the charge meter ▢ Circuit Extractor removing circuits individually ▢ More charging interactions: Electric Milk, Charged Volt Goat zaps, Getting hit by electric weapons with PvP on, Milkmade Hat boosting the charging speed when worn ▢ Optoelectronic Circuit uses 5 nodes ▢ Gastroexpansion Circuit Tier 1.0, giving 50 hunger. 2.0 shall give 100 hunger ▢ Dronemaster Circuit buffs, with lower stats it should give 50 health and sanity. ▢ Electrification circuit dealing proper electric damage ▣ Refrigerant circuit lowering max temperature rather than raising min temperature (hooray to this patch) ▢ Wetness changess: damage begins above 20 wetness even with charge, Proportionately higher wetness damage above 20 wetness, Return of small continuous wetness damage from increasing wetness ▢ New and creative circuit(s) like Navigation Circuit, Lunar Circuit, Thulecite circuit... The 100 base stats was because he could upgrade, and now he can't. Doesn't even make sense. You lose the equivalent of 3 lesser modules for one extra slot? What's more with a large amount of desirable combinations all you can then IS add back in 50hp lmao with 7 slots. Makes 0 sense. It will be fixed hopefully soon. A rust mechanic with the charge meter would be interesting. Rust could develop over time, causing the charge bar to start breaking down. Stopping power from going to the pins. Water would increase the rust development. Wx could maybe use healing salves/honey poultice to get rid of the rust, or maybe some kind of new polishing item to get rid of it? I personally don't have any ideas, I've been thinking of some sort of overcharge (as in, too much electricity damages the machine) but i can't think of anything that would really work with that, since losing charge is rare and generally not an issue. So that idea is pretty pointless (and I see Rook every time I think about overcharge. This damn smile.) That is the part that makes 0 sense- what earthly reason or incentive is there to further increase its stats; for the minute benefits of slower digestion and sanity regen? 100 stats would make a nice baseline to create 7 circuit combos where stat modules are actually incentivized and it gives WX a fun downside it needs: If you want to couple zooming speeds with permanent light or eliminate the weather challenge of a whole season, you need to sacrifice two of your stats (7 slots would allow you to fix one of your stats over the current 6 combos with lesser circuits). It makes for a nice, proper downside than a character that can just upgrade itself to perform better than most others. Just think about some potential combos if these changes are implemented, they feel earned to me: Optoelectronic + Acceleration 2.0 = Perma speed and night vision in exchange for 100 all stats. Illumination + Acceleration 2.0 + Hardy 1.0/Gastro 1.0 = Perma speed and light + Hunger or HP back to 150. But can you please change the location of the electric bar of WX so that the UI of electric bar not been completely blocked by the backpack? Well, can't confirm if it was done exactly like that from game data but JesseB stated that it was raised to 8 days: On 4/17/2022 at 6:51 PM, JesseB_Klei said: Agreed. People shouldn't have to sacrifice a slot that they personally want to use for something else, just because it's a pain and below average. People should use those modules if they are truly interested in playing that way. Lowering the stats would just be taking away options, and say you do add an extra slot, people would just use it to buff the stats back up to the 150 average. It would be pointless, since it would still end up being 6 slots to use up. I like the idea of 7 slots but not if it means unnecessary nerfing. Sure it could add some challenge if people choose not to, but it's just an annoying downside not a fun one. If you want a challenge with low stats play wes. Here is the idea on it below: 1) Use some number Gears and frizzled wires to craft.(or even better gold instead off frizzled wires)(or even requiring both) 2) Adds a seventh slot that degrades over time: i) Consuming Gears extends the duration of the 7nth slot(optional). ii) Consuming an empathy module overights duration of seventh slot and thus the circuit does not get unsocketed on expiration.(or the 7nth slot could always be visible and have the socketed circuit and just not function when depleted). 3) 7nth slot gives a small percentage boost to the socketed circuit according to the number of prongs of the circuit.(could be like 5% for 4 slot circuit up to 20% for single slot circuit. also if for example first slots get discharged by wetness 7nth slot keeps bigger modules on but with less effect e.x. less speed on acceleration circuit).(not all circuits need to have extra power e.x. moggles circuit cuz its 1 dimentional) 4) 7nth slot is a different color and does not get discharged from wetness.(also have a small seperate border but that big that it doesnt allow the module to fit).(could also have like a yellow bulb on top of it so the player doesnt need to always check its metter to tell if it is active).(have a metter with the arrows looking towards the right and deplete slowly while also leaving behind a redish color and when fully depleted also have a big "x" mark) 5) On expiration, empathy module should return some number of gears in the inventory.(optional) 6) Having the recipe craft a number of empathy modules(cuz you know. he always manages to damage them. so why not having multiple and have a smoke animation coming out of his chest). 7) Adds some extra jokes and/or quotes. I think this would balance it out a little bit and while also keeping gears iconic in WX's core gameplay. It might be hard to code but it would give him some extra flavor while also making it conditional and incentivize the player to go hunting for some extra character power. Also it upens his survivability window with the right circuit e.x. moggles circuit and light circuit in case he gets discharged.
