have you defeated the "hard"bosses of DST?

heyo its your favorite schlatty boy here 

so i wanted to make this poll for a while so i made it 

first of all the word hard in the title is in air qoutes because to some people these bosses could be easy

second. one boss mentioned out of the four is an odd one out and that one boss is ancient fuelweaver(because i would guess a lot more people have defeated them)

i just kinda wanted to see how many people defeated him without using ice staffs (i personally think using them on crab king is ok)

That’s a tough line. He technically can be solo’d without it but it’s really difficult. I’d say it’s not an egregiously cheesy thing like ancient guardian into a pillar or lure plants with fuelweaver. Especially considering he feels like a truly multiplayer boss experience (which tbh I really like and would love to see more multiplayer mechanic fights but a lot of solo players on the forums seem to complain about that). I really enjoyed 2 person crab king without ice staffs

edit: i tried crab king without ice staff and is really hard (and more because i didnt knew how the healing worsk so i didnt try to use WP)

well im glad you enjoyed him crab king. he is definitely not my favorite but im happy that you enjoy them because it means klei didn't just make a horrible boss for everyone and that some people actually like the boss

Load up the king with the pearl and blue gems, assemble as metric frickton of boat patches (maybe 100), and pray. Hope you are good with how boat repairs works because you will be fixing up the boat so much it would be like a town after a Godzilla movie. It's most certinly doable, but it is also a method that I would never recommend to anyone.

To me this sounds like considering that the only legit way to fight bearger is tanking, or exclude the use of weather pains against fuelweaver when fighting solo. 

If I recall correctly the devs did some fine tunning about how often and when Crab King got frozen, in my opinion ice staves should be considered a valid method, and the people who considers it cheese are complicating their fight as a personal challenge or something, but it doesn't necesarily apply to everyone.

As a contrast, a simple cheese example I can think of that most of Us use (at least I do, and I don't mind) is the dfly walls method. We are supposed to deal with the lavae, fighting them or freezing them, not just glitch them with their buggy pathfinding, or lock them as they spawn. The day Klei decides to fix the mobs pathfinding, or Dfly targeting walls more often, Dragonfly will become almost an entirely new boss for most players.

To me cheesing is abusing an unintended behavior of the boss for a much easier and cheaper fight. (In some cases, not even fighting at all) . The ice staves on crab king still requires you to put up a strong fight and deal with a bunch of things. Sounds pretty fair to me.

not really.the bosses are meant to have a lot of health scaling their health down is just removing the word "hard"out of "hard bosses"

You can also row with a malbatross peak to evade the geysers but takes forever to kill him

to some people using ice staff counts as a cheese.me personally i think using ice staff is okay

yes it is. It's why klei created the epic-scare ability for bosses to counter that.

bunnymen and hutches however are simply too strong and need a rebalance. That is not anybody's fault.

Also, there is no need of making 100 houses. I like the befriend mechanic but as a support not as afk boss farms
