I don't understand how someone can see literal abuse and their first reaction is "this isn't bad because other companies do it." Like, i guess phone person is a hypocrite in that scenario that you pointed out - if you really want to use that argument - but it still doesn't chance the fact that Tencent is an god awful company. 

 

both are bad and i totally respect and aprove making sabotage to bad companies. I said that for all the drama that came when the game was announced.

some people only worry about a little thing but makes a lot of noise meanwhile they might be aproving other worst stuff.

for example, playing phone games with todays bateries that doesnt hold that kind of usage making go to the rubish earlier creating more pollution and promoting the lack of resources that we have (spoiler, there is not overpopulation)

but again, my comment was about the drama not the complaining. I like to know that tencent does more things than just abusing of adicted people and i know it thanks to the forum

What made me really concerned with their discord is how big it is with rules. All the rules on the discord made me overwhelmed and scared. If those rules are going to mirror what's going to be in the game, imagine what could be going on in Fortnite(another Epic/Tenecent property).

Kind of surprised Tencent is fine with Griftlands despite what's in the game.

I'm not a fan of Tencent, but also I wouldn't have been interested in playing Newhome even if they weren't involved and someone else was making it, so it's an easier decision for me than it might be for some.

No, i wont be. I'm glad Klei got some money from Tencent to work with, despite Tencent's shady reputation, but i really have no intention or desire to play a Don't Starve game not designed and thought up by Klei.  They themselves stated they had no input in the development of the game so it all feels a bit "knock-offy", "cash-grabby", ect.

I’m not going to judge a product by who’s logo is on it- I will judge said product entirely upon my personal enjoyment of it.. And thats the bottom line, It has got nothing at all to do with who is distributing it or why.. it’s got EVERYTHING to do with if I enjoy what is being offered.

Now days- in this Generation of gaming if you buy a full retail game digitally on your Xbox and you end up not liking that game shortly after playing it.. you can contact Microsoft Support and get that game refunded for the full price you put into it.

I remember the days where I would buy a full price retail game.. play it for one freaking Day.. and then trade it in 25$ less then what I had paid for it.

(you guys really have no idea how much Better off you have things now days) 

And Yeah before you even say it: NewHome may be Free to download & Play & won’t be a full retail release: But My point is- if I buy (Or in NewHomes case Download) a game and then I end up NOT liking it- I will Return said game (or in this case quickly locate the Delete App function on my Smartphone) that’s that End of Story.

I'd like to add here. If you bought a product before knowing the terrible things, that's bad but not really your fault. If you pay for something knowing the things behind it are bad, then you are actively financially supporting the terrible things, and are absolutely responsible for rewarding the practice/production of said things.

I know nothing of Tencent or whatever they are, but since it's been pointed out here, I am now aware of the accusations. Which means if I buy into the game without looking further into it, I'm practicing willful ignorance and bad complacency. That is not something that should be encouraged.

Probably this is what could happen:  Good end: We find out it was just in beta and it's a bit lesser on the rules.      Bad end: It's just a horrible mess and basically pay to win, nobody can even play it without feeling like it's just in to suck in all your money towards lootboxes.    I just worry that this could infect Kiel and ruin normal DST with shady business practices.

Somehow I highly doubt that.. Klei listens to their fans, they know what their fans want to see and experience, to change that much.. that quickly I just don’t ever see Klei doing.

I’m sure they have tons of ideas planned for DST to keep it feeling fresh, full of content and keeping a steady stream of players.

Most regrettably most my friends on Xbox live won’t even give the game the light of day- they just won’t take a chance on it.. and that really makes me sad because as fun as DST is.. and with all the monthly free updates to keep things fresh- This game... this Company- They deserve to be much more popular then they are, they put a lot of time, thought and TLC into their games- and it’s not JUST DST they do this for: They have added patch updates to the original DS game for QoL stuff like taming and fencing Beefalo when they did not HAVE to do anything for a game that’s as old as 2013 or beyond..

I have not got a PC to play the other products Klei puts out.. But What about that free Summer Recreational update they did for Oxygen Not Included, or the two new characters they added to that Hot Lava game?

Klei isn’t just working exclusively on DST- They are putting out Quality content for their players to enjoy, and that’s something I See.. Respect, and love them for.

I certainly hope not. At the moment, Klei is one of the few developers I'm willing to make non-DLC in-game purchases from. I mean yes I like the skins, but I wouldn't pay real money for them if I didn't like what Klei does. They only get extra money from me because I feel they earn it.

When I saw DST mobile I tryed to forget it as fast as I saw it (don't you have phones? diablo ) , I don't hate it but ...

Now that I saw it new creatures ?! new buildings ?! new maps ?! All the new stuff ... Now, now I hate it... DST needs this level of content drop but ... a mobile game got it ... great. (I get it mobile is a big market, but... I don't know it feels like markets/skins and stuff like this didn't matter before)

DS/DST was one of my favorite games but this - small drops of content - killed the game for me, most of that content begin optional killed the game for me ...
I want this but here in DST for PC. I don't play mobile games, they are ... well better not say... I think klei should focus on DST, it has future and potential. Damn I even think it can become something like an esport with enough support, but it's ... not happening, small drops of content and nothing major.
DST need a big content drop - expansion level/DLC (I'm willing to pay for it). Add clans add server with 10-20 ppl have team vs team. Have more interaction between characters - healer for example.
New features that affect all of your game (not just a sea that does nothing if you don't go into it) ... My main problem is that if you builded a camp (where you can survive only in it/around it without leaving) 7-10-12(or more) updates ago, that camp will still be viable, you won't have to change anything in order to survive all of the updates, you don't need to adapt or change your tactic, The survival part is gone...
if this was for new home and DST I would not be sad about it but ... seeing how DST is treated with small drops that change almost nothing in the game (survival) ... well ... enough said, I can keep going but... let's stop here.

Now, now I just lurk around the forum waiting for the day some major content is added so I can start a new game, And waiting for more content to pile up before I do.

EDIT: Is this made by the DS/DST team or outsourced to tencent? (I won't play it both ways, just need to know, if I need to feel bad about this content not getting into DST (if it's outsourced i don't care about it, it's better if it stays out of DST.))
