What is a DST confession you have?

Recommended Posts

i was showing a friend the new content. We just log in the world and decide to hunt malbatross to start, we find him with our better boat (bad idea) in a shoal near base and engage the fight. Just when the bird was about to die i did a missclick and equip a forgoten torch hitting him and burning everything even his loot...

i told him to rollback, he doesnt play dst lately so that fire wasnt a good way to motivate him to play again xddd

I’m not machivoest & I don’t care to fight bosses solo that are designed to be fought with a group of players.

My opinion on this would change if the more players involved = the harder the fight will be, but the reality of things is just bring a group of players along and it’s dead in roughly 6x less amount of time required.

For me Deerclops & Eye of Terror are do-able Solo and offer a fair enough challenge to continue doing solo.. however- when 2 or 3 players fight these two bosses the fights over before you can blink & unsatisfying.

For other bosses like Dragonfly, Twins or Bearger it has way too much health for a solo player to want to continue to fight more then once or twice (again unless your a machivoest..) these bosses are designed to be more enjoyable if you bring a group of players which in turn- cuts that bosses health points down based on the amount of players, perks used, and weapons used.

TL:DR- any fights going to be easy when you got a party of players wielding Darkswords to deal more damage quicker.

Dragonfly is a prime example of this: If you can do enough damage to it in X amount of time, it passes out on the ground & also rewards the player with Dragon Scales- When playing Solo your chances to stun Dragonfly are significantly lower to the point that your better off just gathering some other players to help you kill it.

As a solo player I have to come up with creative out of the box methods of dealing with these problems, and waiting until Winter and using a BushHat to hide near her after activating the Terrarium to spawn the two twins of terror (particularly phase 2 ToT..) If you can manage to get BOTH Twins to attack her at once (they more often separate and you have to rollback until they attack together..) But if you CAN accomplish this the Twins can “Stun” Dragonfly causing her to pass out making it an effective way for solo players to farm Dragon Scales.

do you mean masochist?

Nah I meant this word.

https://www.dictionary.com/browse/machismo

Machismo-est then?

Anyway Killing Bosses using the bush hat and bringing another boss to fight them is mildly entertaining.

I like to watch things like the pig vs Merm war just play out just to see who wins without my intervention

Mike saying that solo DST is for masochists  :cower: (or machismo… but I don’t feel like you can use that word like that)

With three players or more boss fights like DF the gameplay just becomes a matter of coordinating and making sure that everyone shows up at the desert at the same time and without anyone starving to death or having 50HP.  And hopefully someone broguht a pan flute.  Because the fight itself is just to hold f.

I swear that in low-intermediate level pub games (the ones that I play) that last out winter/spring the peak of cooperative gameplay is to answer “where is base”.   Fighting the standard raid bosses is easy compared to that.

One point for the matchmaking and minus two points for rollback.

Is this your approval for me to make a thread asking for a Nerf for RockJaw Sharks and Cookie Cutters? They do a ton of damage and their loots aren’t even worth it. This is DST confessions thread: And therefore I Confess I’ve died a thousand times trying to find the Most effective way to deal with Cookie Cutters.

If your lucky enough to be on PC you can drag and drop some logs and twigs into the water, they will prioritize snacking on small loose wood before they will their full course meal of a Boat.

Bringing 1 or 2 friends along for the trip might help.. but for now I am perfectly happy wasting Darkswords on them.

press F, they are as weak as spiders

i never felt the need of doing that, by just not going like a chicken without head to the salt formation you will be safe, like everything in this game...

i like them, when you hear the rockjaw song you know you will need to be focused

Just bring any weapon that can deal more than 50 damage, it will two shot the cookie cutters, like tentacle spikes.

Frankly the best way to deal with them is just stay away from them, salt box is more of a luxury than anything, and judge by your "oh no, I don't want to find raid bosses" you aren't gonna fight Crab King either. It's your choice to engage them, so take the consequences.

for sharks just avoid their attacks and they will lose aggro, then just skedaddle outta there.

Or you can use wanda and smack the sharks with alarming clock since she is OP and needs a nerf.:ambivalence:

The nerf is to give them more meaningful loots, RockJaw has Rocks on its body so seems logical I could get rocks, flint and Nitre from it, which would be useful for Endo Firepits.

Ive never been killed By a RockJaw shark.. but fighting them isn’t worth the reward.

So I want them properly Nerfed

i think, by reading this and by your argumentation with shosuko about how to name the wolfgang speed removal, that you dont understand what nerf means

They should drop a shark fin to make shark fin soup which ideally would be a killer recipe like mandrake soup providing a ton of stats, should also be able to make either a hat or weapon with the fin too.

I think ocean content needs a decent weapon that is more readily available than strident trident.  Something like Cutlass Supreme.  Also buff cookie cutter armor to be worth using as armor XD

Not at all, I want Klei to nerf their ability to disappoint me with their mediocre loot- I’m a Gemini man, I think on a whole other level. I do however apologize for not making that more clearly. :wilson_blush:

Today on day 473 I finally defeated Bee Queen, the first raid boss victory in my solo Wurt world.  Yay!

I tried her an in-game year ago with only 12 flortifications.  And without focusing aggro with a boomerang.  That went horribly.  Thankfully though aborting the fight is simple (it might not be easy to convince yourself that you should cut your losses, however…).  29 flortifications this time.

I will not stand idly by as my precious cookie cutter cap's good name is being tarnished. It may offer less resistance than your typical football helmet, but it is pretty durable which combined with the lesser resistance makes it last quite some time. It's also more water resistant.

But the biggest appeal of the cap is the style. Unless you're fighting something with 150 damage per swing the cap can do about as well as a football helmet, so it is clearly the better option for appearances.

The only thing I would change about the cookie cutter cap, other than having people automatically remark about how attractive and intelligent you look when you're wearing it of course, is to make the shells that craft it drop more often.

Yeah, the main thing that holds back the Cap is it's annoying to craft. Would like to see the shells drop more often, for both the caps and the lures. The lures that are crafted using shells are quite powerful. One can attract any kind of fish, one allows you to fish when it's snowing, one during rain, and one to get heavy fishes specifically.

I prefer trading the bottles for those sweet christmas ornaments.
