What's your headcannon?

Recommended Posts

Here's mine

1. Wormwood is like 8 feet tall

2. Willow And Charlie have conversations at night (Because of the lighters short radius, Charlie is usually right next to her)

3. Warbucks just strait up Died

4. Webber is actually like, 20-ish, He just spent a good amount of time growing inside the spider

  • Wigfrid is allergic to eggplants, which is why Stuffed Eggplant can be made with meat but she still can't eat it. She has a lot of genuine food sensitivities where vegetables are concerned - most can be remedied by cooking them thoroughly, but a quick roasting over a campfire won't do it - and incorporated them into her character.
  • Wormwood isn't quite 8 feet tall but is, like, 6 feet tall and the third tallest survivor after Maxwell and Mighty!Wolfgang
  • Warbucks displeased Them and was cast into the void
  • Maxwell can use the Codex Umbra to look up random bits of information like it's Shadow Google/Shadow Wikipedia
  • Wurt is the youngest survivor; she's about 7, or the equivalent in merm years. Yes this includes Wilbur and Wormwood
  • Wendy is really tall for a 10-year-old, taller than WX-78 and almost as tall as Wigfrid or Wagstaff; she gets her height from her dad
  • Wigfrid and Wagstaff are the shortest of the human adult survivors, as you may have guessed from the previous headcanon.
  • Willow looks like she's taller than Wilson when they stand next to each other but they're actually the same height and she just never takes her heels off
  • Warly's Chef Pouch is smaller now because when he was sailing from Shipwrecked to the DST Constant he left it sitting in a puddle and it shrank
  • Pigs have really bad low-light vision; Wilba's is better than average
  • The Shadow Creatures that attack you in-game are literally just Nightmare Fuel wrapped around incorporeal projections from another plane of existence
  • Toadstools come from frogs in the cave ponds getting mutated by the mushroom spores
  • Evil Flowers literally suck out your happiness and metabolise it into Nightmare Fuel when you stand too close, that's what their insanity aura is
  • Making and eating Honey Ham is a funerary practice for the Hamlet pigs
  • Sometimes the BFB just up and carries off a tallbird and leaves it to nest on its roost. Maybe it considers it a pet, I don't know
  • The Constant's "moon" doesn't orbit the Constant, it's a big round rock that floats in the sky, you could reach it with an aircraft (sound of Wheeler crying in the background)
  • The land of the Constant isn't a complete planet, it's just chunks of land (and water) surrounded by an ocean of nothingness in all directions

  • There is considerably more oxygen in the Constant than Earth which explains the giant spiders, and most if not all the other giant insects/arthropods.
  • Butterflies and fireflies are exempt from this gigantism because they are not bugs but plants. Butterflies specifically are just flying seeds. Fireflies are.. some sort of light plant.
  • Fire spreads so rapidly because of the excess oxygen.
  • WX-78 is one of the taller survivors behind Maxwell and Wolfgang.
  • WX-78 uses healing salves to polish his chassis. Honey poultice's hold broken pieces together while his internal repair system seals everything back together.
  • Crockpots and Wardrobes function so weirdly because they are sealed from light and Charlie improves it out of pity.
  • Charlie has an intense fascination with fashion and that is why we are gifted skins/clothes all the time.
  • Regular birds are just birds. They are not special, they just have the ability to go between Earth and the Constant as they wish. Geese and Penguins are exempt from this because they are evil birds and are easily manipulated by Charlie/Maxwell.

- Abigail was pushed into the cliff by Wendy

- Webber died before entering the constant

-Wickerbottoms library it's abandoned and all her plants and pets died

-willow it's secretly bald, her hair burnt

-Wortox it's colorblind and only sees because the soul vision he has, and past memories

- Lucy was an axe before entering the constant

- Winona bullies Charlie

- Wagstaff is ultra evil and will probably desthrone Charlie

-Oompa loompas we're the ones that complained about Warbucks

The one I'm most fond of is the idea that Warbucks is the only known human to actually, simply, escape the constant. He found a way out from right under our noses, the scoundrel.

Home Sea Home content only exists because Woodlegs had a very brief encounter with the throne before Wilson got to it

Any human in the constant is 100% capable of  building basically anything at any time, it's just that nobody's actually thought to build x or y thing yet.

most All modded content is lore-wise a hypothetical scenario in which you, the mod creator, sat on the throne.

A few of these are implied to be true, and butterflies being flying flowers* was directly stated by Maxwell.

When Wagstaff sent WX into the Constant, he turned off their empathy module, to give them a better chance for survival.

Spoiler

Also, WX want to be a real boi, and there was an error in their programming which made their nose grow when they told a lie. Because of this, Wagstaff simply removed the entire nose

1 wes is french-indian(it is the hair) and third tallest after wolfgang(mighty) and king-bean maxwell

2 the reason there are so many artistic people in the constant(aside from wx, charlie and wicker) is that creativity breeds madness and madness is the fuel that runs the constant. the only person to die was the least creative of the bunch

3 the machines only turn on for survivors because they aren't actually functional and require imagination to be used(like the holiday cheer oven but less on the nose)

4 the player characters are the 'bad' guys hence why everyone is so hostile and the fuel weavers say what they do

5 the default red fruit bushes are wild lingonberry

6 wilson would win in a wilson vs maxwell fistfight(and he relishes the idea of it)

7 the humans are all so thin because they are actually starved of their life essence by whatever is fed by madness(also probably parasites)

8 the constant is called that because 'time' biologically-speaking is not moving forward for most things(and when they do they just reset after a brief time). everyone is only as alive/old/developed at the moment they stepped into the constant beginning with maxwell(which is why 1000+ day wendy is still a child and pigs only die from fighting/accidents). it is also why the flowers are always in bloom(unless intentionally plucked or starved of light). the constant is as close to a living 'purgatory' as there can be

9 the house in the most recent screencap is not wigfrids and the lady above the mantel is possibly (young?) wickerbottom

Spoiler

Have you checked the huge wall of text I made where I suspected Woodlegs has a much bigger role in the story than we think?

One I have is that Wallace and Webber are related.

  • Wilba was sent to the Forge once to take combat lessons(And Pugna has relations to Hamlet and the Queen)
  • All Guard Merms are females and only female merms can possess horns
  • There are other lunar variants of gems, similar to Wormwoods lunar green gem and the irridescent gem. If the survivors wanted to, they could create lunar blue/purple/orange/green/red gems by sticking their respective staves in the Moon Stone to convert them.
  • The Purple Gem in Wormwoods oasis bound skin is what a lunar purple gem would look like if one existed
  • Willow is Japanese or is part Japanese
  • The "Cat-tails" in Reeds are literally catcoon tails that have been planted.

Bit of a big headcanon of mine where I try to argue that Shipwrecked was before Maxwells time in the Constant, that Woodlegs is very suspect as a character, and that there is another group of people who are going around the constant that may not be related to our cast and are up to something(like locking Woodlegs up).

Some Headcanons GO

-Wilson is Jewish

-Woodie is from Newfoundland (technically it was a British colony until the 40s-50s but its FINE don’t worry about it)

-Lucy is real and was once Woodie’s wife. It’s up for debate how she died, but to me they’re from the mid to late 1910s so I’m thinking the Spanish Flu

-Wigfrid is German and her given name is Elfriede before she took on her Wigfrid persona

-Wendy’s full first name is either Gwendolyn or Wendell. I can’t decide which one I like more.

-Walter sounds like Angus McDonald from The Adventure Zone

Wilson somehow influenced Hamlets economy. Note his name, Wilson P Higgsbury.  Now take out the H and combine it with the middle name. Piggsbury.  Now look at a few of the Hamlet buildings. Swinesbury Mineral exchange, Swinesbury Academy, Swinesbury city hall.   Swine? Pig! Piggsbury Mineral Exchange.  Wilson owns major stock in Hamlet!

-As many have already said Wormwood is very tall and skinny

-Wx-78's face is motionless. They don't close their eyes and can't open their mouth.

-Wx-78 can enter sleep-mode in any position, even standing. This + previous headcannon leads to many situations where survivors talk to standing Wx-78 only to find out after 5 min that they weren't listening.

-Pigmen are way smarter than we see in-game. They actually harvest their berry bushes and collect resources. As (cannon) Maxwell's quote goes 'They're getting smarter and smarter' (or something like that)

-Wilson has a dormant shadow magic potential in him after he sat on the Nightmare Throne. yes, I'm talking about Shadow Wilson

-There's way more stuff in the nature of the Constant than we see in-game. Small bugs creeping around the ground, bird nests on the trees, windy days when leaves are blown around and the world looks pretty (nothing like the wind we saw in singleplayer dlcs).Durring summmer thunderstorms happen and there're blizzards durring winter

-Every day the survivors experience dawn. The dawn lasts 1 segment of the clock and durring it the world looks so pretty the they actually regain a bit of sanity.

-Oasis lake is actually quite giant. Big enough to go sailing. The ecosystem around it is also quite big. So unlike in-game the survivors don't start to experience sandstorm 2 meters away from water.

Huh... I guess some of my headcannons are also stuff I'd like added into the game.

>Webber's human part of him and his spider part actually talk with each other, they have to talk before tjhey make a decision so both can be happy, both have separated opinions etc.
>Maxwell somewhat helps survivors by telling his experience on nightmare throne, how it was, what are advantages etc.
>wickerbottom and wurt have their own little library, they both read books
>webber and wurt treats themselfs like siblings, 'cause both hate pigs
>webber actually have been in the hamlet world and he talks about his experience with wurt
>webber's puberty system in his human body got messed up because of his spider part that is fusing with human body, that's why webber's beard grows that fast and explains why it's silky
>walter does many interviews with woodie, mostly about his were forms, walter writes everything down in his notebook
>spider queen has an aura that lures spiders to her, webber has resistance that partly protects them from it, it's another result of fusing his body with his spider self
>webber's parents are farmers, it explains why he has farmer perks in gorge
>webber is scared of lunar island, because what it did with spiders, and he tries to avoid it at all costs, so he can be safe
>every spider warrior is just an adult spider
