Something I hope to see for Wilson is an ability to create something along the lines of potions. He’s messed with them in the Don’t Starve intro short, and he even has one in his character portrait! Or maybe something else, I just want his character to be more SCIENCE-y.

I think that if anyone were to be a medic, they would still be outdone by Wortox since souls are really easy to get and have a great healing ability that I see being really hard to outdo. Now for the alchemist bit, I could see that working. Maybe being able to apply helpful buffs to the whole team? Wilson was never really given much of a team role when he was transferred to DST.

If I recall correctly, the "lore excuse" for Winona's new recipes went something along the lines of "Having spent enough time in the Constant, she is now more familiar with how things work and can comfortably exploit them". Now, if anyone is "familiar" with life in the Constant, that would be Wilson. Guy has tried and seen just about everything by now.

Having dealt with so many, maybe he's less disturbed by monsters and stuff--oh wait that's a Wendy thing.

Surely he has memorised certain recipes by now--oh wait that's a Wickerbottom thing.

Maybe he can navigate and move through the wilderness more easily since it's not like he's walked on proper concrete in ages--oh wait that's (kinda) a WX-78 thing.

Maybe, with a combination of medical knowledge and blood magic scientific methods, healing/resurrection items cost less to make and are more effective--kind of a Wortox thing, even if not everyone has Wortox or a friend with Wortox.

Maybe Charlie is nicer to him since he made it a lot easier for her to obtain the throne--nope, that's a Winona thing.

Just giving Wilson more crafting recipes seems like a cheap way to spice him up, but we don't want Wilson to be too spicy. The question remains how to balance spice, Wilson-ness, and not being too much like another character. Very interested to see how this will pan out.

I feel like Wilson could still largely benefit as a jack-of-all-trades master-of-none type character. However, this could be shifted so it reflects him spending time in the constant, ie small but non-situational, noticeable benefits.

Wilson should able to summon chicken like Wendy(Abigail) and Willow(bernie) do

while holding chicken, Wilson gains sanity overtime, immune to cold and overheat

the chicken should be immortal, deal 1000 damage to global map enemies continuously every second

Wilson may also eat this chicken for 200hunger, 100 health, warm temperature for 100days

Krampus are instantly die upon summoned

I love his personality, too! Besides, having the title of "gentleman scientist" doesn't necessarily mean he's truly a gentleman. It could just mean he's an independent (most probably loner) scientist who didn't take loans or money from others, go to university, etc. to advance in his studies.

make more ways to make explosions there is a distinct need for more explosions in DST

let him make highly cheap explosives out of mushrooms and stuff

I'm not really up for Wilson being another healer. But I like the idea of a touch stone recharge. I would hope for players that haven't died, it would just add another charge for them. Instead of staying at the default 1 charge. And I would love more uses for beard hair. But I don't think a bedroll made of beard hair would be one of them. Seems like it'd be a very itchy and uncomfortable item to sleep on.

Then make it a bedroll that decreases your sanity but makes you really warm. Good for nightmare fuel farming
