Why the humanoid characters are better than humans characters.

Recommended Posts

I'm going to touch a sore point, Wx, Webber, Wilbur, Wilba, Wormwood and Wortox are the best characters in my opinion, why? Already, they are powerful (maybe not Wilbur and Wilba), but humanoides characters better adapt to their environment, Webber with renewable silk and spider control, Wx-78 (the best) can eat spoiled food , being overloaded and improving his stats, Wormwood can renew live logs and plant seeds without trusses, on all soils except rocks, and Wortox can teleport and consume souls. The humanoid characters are original and are not limited by the rationality that limits other human characters, to grow a silk beard? Improve its basic capabilities? Teleport ? Become a Werepig? None of the human characters can get as interesting abilities as humanoids, because they are fantastic! Wilson is growing a beard, yeah ... Wolfgang is getting stronger, yeah ... Wendy is different, she has lost her rational and human side. Maxwell is interesting, Woodie too, but because he becomes a Wasbevear. Winona was very uninteresting to me before her rework, I hated her, now she's my favorite female character, her machines are interesting and allow a basic defense for example, some human characters stand out, but remain bland like Wilson, Wolfgang , Willow, Wigfrid. I'm never bored with humanoid characters because they have no limit to the imagination.

That's my opinion, it's purely subjective !

Webber isn't as powerful as he may appear to be at first glance, sure he can befriend spiders, but he can't befriend pigs or bunnymen who are a lot better, and his silk beard is a direct downgrade to Wilson. (But he's still cool!)  From what i've seen Wormwood is also very weak, with it being extremely hard to heal, and having very few benefits besides crafting living logs.

As for Wilbur and Wilba however, they can be rather powerful characters, Wilbur being more useful outside of shipwrecked because of his running ability, which unlike Wolfgang requires no hunger, and Wilba's Werepig form being extremely powerful, her hands as powerful as a dark sword.

As for WX though, he is not the most powerful character, being overshadowed by Wicker and Wolfgang, and of course the insanely powerful Wortox, who makes all healing items and the lazy explorer useless, as well as getting free food whenever he kills something for the cost of sanity, please nerf!

Wicker is powerful, but even reading through her statistics and her books, I do not see how she's better than Wx, Wx is the fastest character with her overhead + the walking stick that's very simple to get in DS, SW and DST, Wilbur becomes a joke next to him. He can eat spoiled food without any penalty, the humidity is ridiculous on him, just make an umbrella and a football helmet, and he has no problem! The only drawback (if we can call it a disadvantage) is moisture, because with gears consumed, moisture is not felt. While Wicker has trouble eating spoiled food and can not sleep, I must admit that its benefits are powerful, but not as much as Wx, Wx is the best in the long run, with 15 gears on Wx, I roll on everything and anything, bosses become free resources. No nerve is asked for him, probably because his basic statistics are 100.

It's a shame, you are not aware that I play on PS4 :/

But...you could've just gotten images of them from the internet and if you needed images of them in-game wearing a certain item isn't there a way to take "screenshots" on PS4 I swore I remember that being a feature.

Yeah you can but getting that from there to the forum is quite hard.

I could have screenshot on PS4, and how I would have to make them appear on the forum? However, yes, I could have taken them on the internet, but the quality of the pictures do not matter to me, knowing that they are rather correct.

I also play on PS4. If I really need a high quality screenshot, I share it with myself on facebook (and only myself) and then I crop and share the image from the PC itself. It's not really needed here.. just sharing a quick tip!

Thank you !!!

I dunno, I like the regular humans. Maybe it's just the less fantastical "out of their depth" feel they have. Or maybe I just find a mad scientist or failed magician more interesting than a plant.

The year is 20XX, everyone plays WX… And there's this whole post-apocalyptic universe that is built off of WX being the only viable character left… Humanity has reached its pinnacle… The peasants are living in poverty… And there's these monasteries where these WX monks just levitate and instantly upgrade and overcharge WX with one hand, and simultaneously get to day 2398 with the other… And then we have warriors like myself desperately trying to prevent the apocalypse, the WX Apocalypse, from happening with Wickerbottom…

jokes aside...

Wicker's power doesn't lie on her stats like Wolfgang and WX - her strength lies in the strategies her books provide.

 - BotW, Applied Hort and Sleepytime Stories allow her to farm massive amounts of food and resources, especially in SW where you can farm tonnes of Brains of Thought for crafting, and Coffee for speed.

 - On Tentacles allows her to make dangerous traps for bosses - though, patience, extreme caution and armor are required to create and operate them.

 - Joy of Volcanology can farm tonnes more Obsidian items which are of great use. Also, it's a tricky weapon to use, but you can pair it alongside STS for a quicker, more deadly, yet with admittedly less power, but still deadly Old Bell-esque meteor strike.

 - Her early game start is pretty solid - while WX struggles with stats in DS and in SW Wicker can set up, armor up and farm very quickly, even getting a rowboat and sail day 1 in SW. It's in hamlet where i can surely say i concede the early game to WX XD

 - Her mid-lategame is also powerful - with time, effort, tentacle traps, Brains of Thought and instagrow farms Wicker is a force to be reckoned with.

 - Her spoilage downside can be dealt by careful budgeting and once you gain Bundling wrap, but that is admittedly too late in the game to make any significance to WX's ability to negate stale food.

 - Her ability to not sleep is mitgated by the fact that she can farm sanity restores and health items quick.

I do admit that Wicker has inferior stats and has a way wider margin of error compared to WX-78's superior stats and boosts, but her strong early game, abilities to farm food and resources and harness tentacles and obsidian are for me what makes her one of the best characters in-game.

That's just my opinion, though; take it with a grain of salt.

I must admit that your comment makes me a little salty X). But I like it because what you say is true !

Wicker's broken. Applied Horiculture gives her tons of resources and food, heck, a ramshackle set up with a lure plant givesstacks apon stacks of twigs or grass, Birds of the world makes her the best at farming a krampus sack, On tenticels allows her to farm nearly any boss or giant with minimal risk; the only notable exclusions being ancient fuel weaver; Deerclops; and Bearger; and sleepytime stories is a renweable pan flute.

As for your claim, I think it should be noted that the non-human characters arn't the most powerful, just the most interesting.

Wolfgang, while boring, is basically 2 players when it comes to hard fights, and I've aslready covered wicker.

However, Werewilba is much more interesting then mighty form, and Wormwood is a proper challenge character with the lack of healing foods, compared to wes, who only eats more food and fights slower. Not interesting in the slightest
